  • Actually, I LOVE having my porch. I live in a very rainy environment, so it's a place where I can hang my raincoat to dry... or sit and read a book in the shade. I keep my shoes under one of the benches, and am planning to keep some firewood under the other bench when I get my woodstove installed. So, YES. I would say the porch is a very useful part of the house! :)

  • Nice work. We bought the Popomo house plans, but would like to make a roof like yours. Tell me, does the porch part of the house have any benefit besides looks? I'm seriously asking because i'm about to build and looking into all options. Thanks!

  • that tiny kitchen - so cute :o)

  • what is that rad song???

  • It's a Nickel Creek song, though I can't remember the song title at the moment. :)

  • @jrsparano the name of the song is Nickel Creek - Smoothie Song

  • The trailer has a 10,000 pound GVWR. The total weight of the entire house, with all my possessions, was around 7,500 pounds. The slate floor added quite a bit of weight.

And yes, I could've used a larger trailer, but this size is perfect or me. Surprisingly, I don't even use all the available space! One of lofts is empty, and some of the closet space is empty! So there was no reason for me to use a larger trailer.

  • How much does this entire set up weigh for towing? Thanks!

  • I don't understand why this was done on a 6ft wide trailer? Why not 8.5? And why not go with a 32 foot trailer? 7.5X31 = 235.5 Sq ft - that's a livable space. Also - it seems that lots of trailer parks will NOT allow home built trailers :-( its not right, but they own the property.

  • Very nice. But I think a bowed roof would give you more room upstairs. These pitched roofs would make me feel like i'm in a coffin.

  • i wish you can make me one this is awesome :D

  • the entrance door was a trick... i had a lot of people around me giving me advice, and the common consensus seemed to be that a steel door would be best. so i ordered the steel door and had it cut to the height i needed. because of the window, they cut everything from the bottom, so the door handle is lower than normal. but i've gotten used to it. :)

  • well done! Looks very nice.

  • Very Nice. I'm only half done with mine. Yours looks great. What did you use for an entrance door?

  • well, do you want to build one or buy one? I believe Tumbleweed Tiny House Company sells both completed houses and plans for you to build your own. There are probably other companies that do the same thing, but I'm not familiar with them. If you don't have strong carpentry skills, you may want to find someone that could at least advise you during the building process. good luck!

  • I want one of these............ tell me what i have to do or who to talk to

  • you did a great job one of the nicest i have seen yet..

  • you did a great job one of the nicest i have seen yet... a Tumbleweed hybred...Sweet
