WOW that is aggressive isn't it. I can see where it could be a real problem in the south or tropics, that is an amazing amount of growth for one season. In the morning glory family so does that mean that each blossom lasts only one day.
@dalecalder2003 , well this is several plants I had left over and I would say probably over 10 plants here so that is why it looks like lots.. morning glory plants like to open in the morning and fade off throughout the day, however I am not quite sure of how long the blooms last on this one would be a good thing to watch next year. I know the hibiscus are one day bloomers..
I've been doing them for 4 years or so. I never saw a humming bird here in Illinois but did when I planted these. Germination was about 4-5 days from previous year seeds. They grow fast and seem to flower in September and seeds for October. Yours look fantastic.
@imstillworkin , hard to get true red flowers in the garden, and since hummers love them it is one I must plant.. Yeah Susan I think this will grow almost anywhere the weather gets warm.. :)
We have the Trumpet vine here in Virginia that is native. It is the hummingbirds favorite but can also be invasive. We trail ours up the pergola on our deck. It provides wonderful shade to sit under on the deck but is a mess when the leaves and flowers drop.
@lauriegirl2 , we have this one too, and you can't kill it.. we have one near our house and wanted to move it , well it appears impossible.. roots must run deep on this vine..
