  • Would THe feather Grow back

  • She said "Uhm" 18 times! :O sorry, i couldn't help noticing :P

  • when she took the treat and asked to come back parrot was like,WTF?give me something new now.

  • the with bird who may or may not be pucked i think it hatched and its been 2 months or so tumbs upor not if u agree

  • Ok simple as this everyone who see the cockatoo with no feathers strange or weird should not own a cockatoo or maybe any bird at that. I look at that bird and see a situation far to common, I don't see an ugly, or mistreated bird. There are many reason a bird can pluck, even a HIGHLY loved and cared for bird, things as little as moving a cage in a room can stress a bird causing them to pluck. The bird seems happy. And remember if a bird ruins its follicles the feathers will never grow back.

  • @datqtreppin107 Could be that she rescued the bird and it had already plucked the feathers before she got it. If so, I commend her on taking a bird most wouldn't want to take care of.

  • what the hell is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why doesnt the white bird have that many body feathers

  • @bakufan988 because it is plucking its feathers. this is a behaverial problems in some birds

  • although that cockatoo has no feathers, he/she looks good in splotches.

  • my bird leard this because of you!!thanks

  • Missy Bird is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!

  • thanks for the advice my bird is really improving i will have videos of her up soon her name is cookie shes a unbrella cocatoo shes white withe light pink feathers

  • Actually when Missy's feathers on the head spreded up she was happy

  • Missy Bird is sooooo adorable!:)

  • what happened to her feathers ? :( how old is she?

  • what treats do i feed to my bird

  • why does the white head parrot have a big head?? poor guy

  • It's a cockatoo. Their prone to pulling out their feathers due to stress, which is obviously what has happened in this case (I'm assuming that this is a rehomed bird that was neglected in it's initial house)

  • Yo they both puffed there feathers up at 1:56

  • Is that what a bird looks like when it molts?

  • lol, near the end the parrot dropped her treat and was looking for it on the floor by focusing on one eye!

  • no not mistreatment some parrots do it from boredom or attention seeking its very common in bigger parrots .

  • messy bird became my fav n now i want a cockatoo very badly lol..

whtever happens i never stop watching messy bird's training video once in a day.

    whn i m in sorrow i watch this video n i laugh.

she speaks so cutely "hey messy bird".

thanks elizabeth to train her n take care of her n posting such a cute video

  • why doesnt she have feathers

  • HI, i was wondering, Where can I buy my quaker parrot some treats. BY the way, i like the way you teach them!

  • Not neccesarily mistreatment: The "Ugly bird in the background " is an umbrella cockatoo from Indonesia, & many (Esp Larger Parrots) "feather pluck " out of boredom, nervousness, overstimulation, or attention seeking, as most birds have the brain of a 2-5 yr old child & want interesting things happening all the time. Quite common, but like most people i know who have nervous disorders, depends on the bird.

  • HE is molting! lol does it look like his lonely

  • sometimes parrots pluck their own feathers for manyy reasons actuallyy lonelyy frustrated etc etc

  • what if you hawe a small birs and he cant accept treats?

  • ok she needs 2 give that cockatoo a lil help hope he's ok

  • what the hell is wrong with that cockatoo

  • she may have been just rescued...from families who think exotic birds are cute for pictures and show off to friends...they usually end up like that from mistreatment.

  • great..! i have a gray parrot and a green one both are 5 years old i trained them both talks very well the green one stands on my finger. wanna train any parrot get him when he is very small :)

  • Are you the 2th owner of the parrot because he have now feathers is he not happy by you or was he not happy by his first owner???????????????????

  • poor bird what is wring with it???

im an expert on parrots and that is'nt wright

  • why doesnt she have feathers?

  • Most likely the bird pulls it's feathers out. Some birds do this out of boredom, some do it because they were' properly weaned from their parents. Honestly there's lots of reasons, no two birds are the same.

  • I love your videos. They've really helped me to understand my parrot better and helped with his training. He's a rescue bird and had some bad habits, but I've been able to modify some of his bad behavior and encourage a better relationship with him. Thanks!

  • HAHAHahahahahaha wtf !!!?!?!

  • Nice video.

You may want to consider joining Toastmasters. You can learn to improve your "speeches". The use of filler words like um, uh, so, etc. take away from the message you are giving.

Toastmasters...check out a club and see what you think. I have been helped tremedously since I began going.

  • the poor bird is naked! they pluck their feathers when they are bored so get her something like a toy with straws or a straw broom for her to pluck so she will leave her feathers alone.

  • i just bought a new parrot it is a mitred conure but when i try to touch him he runs or tries to bite me can someone please help me

  • don't try to touch him, he doesn't understand you don't want to hurt it, you've got to make HIM want to come to YOU. just give him food trhough the bars of his cage, than through the cage door, till he gets used to come towards your hand with food in. don't try to catch him or touch when he comes. get him to step on your hand to get the food. remember at first they nip to see if the hand is steady so never pull away. tough it out. mail me if you need more tips

  • Train those birds properly, will ya!

  • my old budgie owners were mean to them. they fly away a go chiiiiirp chirppp when i put my hand a foot away from them. how do i fix this.

  • try putting food in your hand. If they associate your hand with a positive thing (treat), they might get adjusted to it.

  • get new budgies. :P just give 'em the old routine. holdsomething yummy like millet to them, stay very still. get them used.

  • dam girl u got all kind of ainmal not in a bad way im sayin

  • use um come um do um um am am am each word um um um um um um um

  • quit say "UM" woman!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How do I get my Sun Conure to come up on my finger? It used to before I took it to the vet around the first time I got it, but since then when it felt nearly violated it now only comes up on our finger only if it lands on the floor but then ends up preferring our shoulders. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Your bird has made the association of stepping onto your hand means going to the vet. Birds remember these things, and they can take time to fix them. You can try target training the bird, then using that to get it to step onto your hand. Don't try to force him, and alway end training sessions on a positive note. Don't take him out of the cage the first time he steps up either, give him time to retrust you again.

  • Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Though that happened about well over a year ago, I know s/he has grown to love me and it positively shows it by flying to me everytime I pass by the cage when I leave it open. Anyway I understood most of the advice I've picked up from the videos, books and you as well but how do you target train?

  • Target training is easy. You get a chop stick or some other kind of stick that is safe for the bird, a clicker, and his favorite treats. You offer the end of the stick to the bird, and it he bites it, click the clicker, and give him a reward. You can start getting him used to the clicker by just clicking, then rewarding. He'll eventually understand the click means treat, so he won't be scared of it.

  • so how do i make my birds not fly all over the place and stay next to me

  • You need to make it more rewarding for the bird to stay with you then to fly away from you. You could also clip their wings. It's harmless and the feathers grow back after their next molt. By offering fun toys the bird likes, or giving it rewards for just standing on your hand can convince the bird that being with you is more fun than flying away. Also, positive training sessions with your bird will definately brighten their mood towards you!

  • she's molting(changing all her feathers)

  • poor poor birddy =\\\

  • 0:20...what the hell is that...

  • umbrella cockatoo although I dont know what happened to her feathers

  • Missy Bird is an Umbrella Cockatoo, one of the larger subspecies. Cockatoos/Eclectus/Macaws can be prone to feather destruction or plucking.

Parrots are not domesticated, even though they are now bred in homes. We don't always understand what causes plucking.

Many times when they reach puberty they start plucking. Other reasons can be illness, infection, improper diet/nutrition, etc. Sometimes you never know. After enough time, the feathers just don't grow back anymore.

  • lol

  • looks like missy come oven ready...

  • OMG an african gray parrot my friend has one of those its name is ketto it knows how to make the dile up on a computer and also the phone when it hanges up and a water drop in a sink lol.

  • I agree with coperchan, it may be a rescue bird, after seeing her in her video's on training she could never hurt any bird, look how she says sorry to her bird...I do the same. All her birds look happy !

  • Hi Elizabeth, thank you for putting your video's on how to train parrots. I have a macaw and she was with one owner, a female. After seeing your video's I realize that I was doing everything the wrong way. Thanks to you I am beginning to see some results. Oh and you guys with your negative comments, her bird is still a baby.......

  • i feed him a mix of sunflower seeds wheat ground corn with millet penuts hulled soybean papya green peas rasins sweet potato and i just found out he does work for a prsise THAK YOU!

  • ahahahaha moloko

  • why doesn't it have feathers? like what happened? usually it means they're stressed when they lose their feathers.

  • Sometimes they get bored, its not always stress

  • "UMMMM" hehe

  • why does she not have any feathers? does she pluck?

  • i think its becuase she was barely born so her feathers have to grow

  • she may be a rescue bird that had problems with plucking, or a fellow bird who over preened her and now her follicles are ruined and no longer have the ability to grow feathers. That's my guess :) She looks happy.

  • my parrolet wont care for treats wat should i do

  • Will he work for praise? What do feed him? Is he very bonded to you?

  • i got a bird too...named silly. We clipped his wings because we were scared he would fly away, and im tryin to teach him to do tricks. hes a parrot[forgot which kind]. Hes very smart.

  • cok

  • I have two parakeets Lennon and Marly (both boys) I have only had them for 2 days and they like to go on my finger, they used to be my sisters and when she came in my room and I was holding one, she was like how r u holding them, cus they never let her hold them

  • She didn't pluck her bird moron, the bird is probably stressed out. They do it to themselves when they feel that something is wrong.

  • umm

  • so far ive seen plucking and wing flipping. Having a bird that isnt clipped is so dangerous! The poor bird can fly into a wall or window. I have 4 birds. Hyacinth, Eclectus, Cockatoo, and Sengul. I know what im talking about.

  • Yea, my cockateil has its wings clipped and it flew into a wall today because she lost balance :( i was so sad.
