  • dude, that same thing happened to me except the next day my i pod was toast. i went to the mac store and they said it was the hard drive.

  • Trying to Break your Ipod?

  • ha. same thing happened with me

  • I want that ipod case! wered you get it from?

  • mine too. i figured that out while i was trying to sleep and listen to music. I kept getting texts and it was turning it up soooo loud. jeez...

  • Your phone is probably a GSM phone. GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile) phones usually interfere with electronics because of the way they transmit voice. You'll almost never get interference with a CDMA phone (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel).

  • how does it affect it?is it when you call ppl? or something? what were you doing when hte ipod volume changed i want to try it

  • It's the infamous GSM "Rat-a-tat" interference that fools in some way the clickwheel, when the iPod is close to a GSM phone. It happened to me many times. Good thing they resolved in some way on the iPhone otherwise it would have been unusable while in GSM mode :-D

  • you prolly wont care but once the lites went out at my house and i had lit candes on the wall behind the tv n i was listening to my ipod nano wen the lights came back on so i set my ipod on the tv to blow out the candles and as soon as my brother turned on the tv i got shocked in my ears from my ear fonez

  • why this happen?

  • omfg noobs..ever heared of magntic/electric fields?

  • NICe

  • that is awesome lol

  • Every Cell Phone Affects an iPod

  • I got an even better one, look at this on youtube from your treo :)

  • ipods dont have built in speakers fake!

  • Nope this is real. My 2125 does the exact same thing. It usually happens when I connect to the internet or get a call. The cellular signal does something.

  • Who Said iPod has a Built in Speaker Do u Hear Any Music NO U Can Just SEE It Changeing Not HEAR it Changing

    Okay Good

  • Who ever said they had built in speakers!

  • Yea my Cingular 8125 and Video Ipod do that too, nice case, I have the same one but in black!

  • i never thought the ipod had bluetooth... where are the headphones and remotes for it?

  • retard

  • gsm cell phones do "interfere" with speakers (home radio, walkman, car audio) you can listen it before the cell sounds. It happens to me too. But never seen it from a cdma cell phone... just gsm !

  • you should disable keyboard light and lower screen light to save battery

  • or just underclock it to 208 mhz. you cant really tell the difference (just the load times are slightly slower). i can run for about a week and a half without charging (and without talking on it LOL)

  • I tried this an did not work !!!!

  • put the ipod on top of a microwave ove and turn it on, as microwaves put out a flat amount of noise instead of pulses like a cellphone

  • What if you put it IN the microwave?

  • weird

  • Bah, probably just means that all ipods have stealth bluetooth so the RIAA can drive around in vans and track people with illegal music on their ipods. Mwa-hah hah!

  • Yep...this happens to me all the time in the car too on Treo 650

  • i like coke.

  • thats funny . augusta :-)

  • your stupid, you will stuff your ipod

  • If you are a guy imagine what that phone in your pocket is doing to your balls?

  • SERIOUSLY.. MY BALLS started hurting today... by the time am 40 i think i will some kind of cancer or something..

    damn DS & Mobile phone

  • lol. I noticed the other day that when my mobiles screen comes on it interferes with everything else around it electrical, iPods, speakers, TV... Since it has spent most of its time in my pocket I imagine it's going to melt my balls together worse than a bad dose of the clap.

  • WHOA how'd this get 17 honors????

    youtube likes Crystal meth

  • 17!

    Madness!

  • There's just not that many vids in the category Science and Technology. :P

  • You're treo messes with your iPod? Then it messes with your head too

  • I always have my iPod and mobile phone seperated, whch is easy for me as i hate mobile phones... UK

  • wonder what it does to your brain

  • I dont find the treo messing with your ipod disturbing. However I find the fact that you have a pink one distrubing.

  • That's too funny

  • nothing can be "too funny"

  • doesnt happen with my mobile and 30gb ipod

  • thats weird wonder why it does that...?

  • it happens with every mobile

  • every cell phone does that

  • Yea, i have the same problem, ill have my cellphone next to my ipod in my car and then when someone calls all of the sudden the volume is high

  • You know the Treo has an mp3 player built in, right? Makes the ipod a bit redundant.

  • yeh but it wont have anywhere near the storage capacity of the ipod

  • That's what an SD card is for...

  • 4gb of storage compared to up to 80 gb? i dont think so

  • do u really use all 80gb? so do u really need 80gb

  • yes, as I have seven gigabytes of mp3s alone, plus all the videos I will load on the ipod when I get one

  • yes, as I have seven gigabytes of mp3s alone, plus all the videos I will load on the ipod when I get one

  • Happens to my ipod video 30Gb also!! when my mobile or someone else's mobile nearby rings and vibrates.

  • Same w/ me.

  • Thats Crazy you should Apple

  • dude thats crazy

i should try that with my treo

  • my razr does the same thing to my iPod. they can't be next to each other. =[

  • Transmitting on the same wavelength as ovens ,Microwave.

  • cell phones dont broadcast in the microwave range.

  • of course they do.

  • i was wrong

  • and dickyco, ovens dont transmit they have heating elements similar to those found on the stovetop or in a toaster

  • Er, microwave ovens transmit on the, er, microwave wavelength the same wavelength as do (with less power) mobile/cell phones ,bluetooth and wi-fi. Happy cooking.

  • haha IPOD buggy and sucks...

  • no wonder...ive had my ipod sitting next to (or under) my slvr when i'm driving in my car, and i notice every once in a while that my volume just suddenly fades out. i thought it was the ipod cover or my phone bumping my controls until i saw this.

  • I mean, how do you think anything wireless works?

  • My P.O.S. ROKR E1 phones does the same thing. :-(

  • wtf u swallowın in your mouth u jerk

  • Causes my speakers to make sounds. Causes my iPod to flip out. Wonder what it is doing to my body, brain cells, and general health.

  • the girl had a hot voice.

  • I don't understand why this is a big deal. This has happened to my iPod since I've had one, and with the 3 phones I've had during that time. Cell phone interference fucks with a lot for stuff.

  • lol yea same thing happens with my 60gb 5th gen ipod whenever my samsung e900 phone rings, both of them are usually in the same pocket so i get deafened by music before i realised my phone's been vibrating all this time! lol i really wish there was some sort of fix for this, sumthin like a firmware update or God knows what, sum1 PLEASE message me if there's sumthin i don't know

  • Lol, buy a BlackBerry

  • DUUUUR by t3h bl4ckburry! cuz tey r t3h a\/\/3s0m3!

  • You're annoying.

  • Blackberry's suck

    PocketPC ftw

  • That's not a blackberry. That's a Palm Treo.

    Good job, dumbass.

  • Yeah, good thing this is a Palm Treo and NOT a blackberry? Geeze

  • They both suck.

  • and your face sucks penis. so... who cares?

  • My sony ericson does this to my 60gb ipod video... if i put the keylock on the ipod though it stops it. I find it mainly happens when my phone is changing repeaters.

  • I agree. Technology is the devil

  • pretty ironic that you made this reply with technology

  • so what are you saying? that im the anti-christ. cuz I'm not. Bill Gates most likely is tho

  • That happens all the time with my ipod. Although I did have a Treo 650 and now an HTC Hermes, I always thought that the reason it was doing that was when I had the ipod at an angle that the sensors on the click wheel were causing the volume to go up and down. Does it happen if the ipod is in "hold" mode?

  • we've worked out the my friends ipod is more or less "OK" while the treo is just in standby, but once we sync versamail (outlook for treos) or use the bluetooth, the volume goes nuts and shoots up and down. not good for the ears. not good at all.

  • when it sends or receives signal the phone puts out or takes it in waves it messes with the clicker wheels on all of the ipods
