  • I am from norway and i love this song :) But i had never heard of secret garden before yester day.... and i am 14 :( It's sad because this is the best music norway have ever made ... <3

  • This song is so beautiful, when i heard it for the first time i cryed...

  • It's so deep! Goes straight to my heart! <3 Almost makes me want to cry :) <3

  • REALLY? That song went to Eurovision?! I'm surprised!!!! Excellent choice! :)

  • vraiment superbe. ces artistes ont vraiment représenté leur pays et sa culture; Plutôt que de faire du commercial basique dans le seul but de l'emporter. C'est très beau Ils méritaient vraiment de gagner.

  • Hi, can you please give me the name of vocalist. I like her voice

  • close your eyes and go deeper into the garden

  • At 1:52 she looks like a doll that just alived.

  • That's a wonderful song...

    Made my day. :]

  • thats nice,its such a romantic song,congrats ,good choice

  • That is the best song ever

  • Very beautiful!!!

  • Beautiful song. Can you please give me the name of the vocalist, her voice is so warm. Thank you so much.

  • Amazing! Like a beautiful Dream!

  • wonderfulll..............

  • It's called Eurovision song contest. it's a SONG-writing competition (or composer-competition). The last years singers from mostly East European countries have either been bad-looking with an okay song or great-looking with a bad song (as if looks are the most important thing) No, it isn't!. Some countries who usually sends good-looking girls with really bad voices probably would want playback singing too and some machines who can make them sound good live (sad the live orchestra is gone now) :(

  • This song is too nice for this world :)

  • This song brings Eurovision to much higher level than usually!

  • en güzeli bencede...

  • This classic tune will live forever in the ballrooms as the most beautiful slow waltz made.

  • the most beautiful melody on the Earth <3

  • Wouww, really so beautiful,....

  • Feels like praying!

  • @KrhthMouKselogiastra I never thought of it like that, but so true. :)

  • it is not a song , i dont understand why is here in eurovision...

  • why the norwegians always use a violin to win?

    esc masterpiece though

    kisses from greece

  • is fascinating to hear how great it can play music when performed by true artists ....

  • this track as my friend enter08com says i agree that is too much for this carnibal called eurovision

  • This is beautiful but it didn't deserve to win. The Eurovision "SONG" contest is about how good a person can sing, not about how good a person can play the violin.

  • @DJEMMEY25 No, it`s NOT about how well a person can sing,if that were so,then you wouldn`t need music to back the singer, they`d just stand on the stage alone and sing. The contest is about the whole ensemble, singer, music, lyrics etc.

  • @serberious I agree The Eurovision is about music too but it's more about singing. The contestants are judged more on their singing. Secret Garden's performances of Nocturne was all about music and there for they shouldn't of won. End of

  • @DJEMMEY25 Nope, don`t agree but we CAN agree to disagree, lol.

  • @serberious that´s not true, and this theme has not lyrics almost, is a lack of generosity as singers and do not risk anything,

  • 2:17 when she smiles..

  • I want to crying

  • Is this from the Norwegian final?

  • @simenpettn Why did they change the singer for Eurovivison?

  • @eurovisionmgp Don't know

  • Shrek music (inception)

  • It seems there are also good songs in Eurovision.

  • @carlosi104 Sometimes, it happens, lol

  • I get chills!

  • Wow.... <3

  • What music so beautiful! a masterful composition.

  • Maravilhoso, profundo!!!

  • beautiful song, fits perfectly into some epic fantasy world. love it! cheers from Serbia!

  • PIĘKNE CO RAZ SŁUCHAM TEN UTWÓR I CIARY PO PLECACH PRZECHODZĄ.

  • what a bd song

  • is that norwegn

  • This is the best winning song ever in Eurovision. But the Italian winning song of the 90s, Insieme (Toto Cotugno) was also very very good!

  • Why in English?? Why??!! By the way, one of the bests winners ever.

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • With this song on the background I walked to the altar and married my Norwegian man :) (I'm a Finn.) Funnily enough, I had decided years and years earlier that this song would some day be The Song for my wedding - not knowing, that the man of my life would be from the same country as the song itself!

  • @TaruAnsku I'll totally do the same!! (I'm Swedish) I'm only 16 though..

  • Pure beauty, pure perfection, cure for wounded my heart

  • i wish it can play forever...amazing

  • There are just 30 words in this. I'm sure no other Eurovision entry, never mind winner, comes close to having so few lyrics.

  • @cbak12sg It's better to have 30 words than none at all in a real language as Belgium once had!

  • @nmgscp I love Sanomi!

  • @cbak12sg I also like it, but I perceived the previous comment as a mild criticism.

  • amazing

  • Good but not a patch on love city groove, europe just weren't ready for it yet. Cunts.

  • I love when other than POP songs win at the European POP concert aka Eurovision. This is a fabulous piece of art.

  • awesome............

  • Hvem er vokalisten her? Jeg klarer ikke å finne ut navnet hennes.

Who is the vocalist here? I can't figure out her name.

  • @0pteryx The vocalist is, according to Wikipedia, Gunnhild Tvinnereim.

  • @bloodsuckingclown Vokalisten i Secret Garden, ja. Men hvis du googler bilde av Gunnhild Tvinnereim, så ser du tydelig at det ikke er henne som synger her.

  • I'd rather have beautiful melody and rhythm like this than lousy lyrics and screaming that we have nowadays

  • @veryjellybelly agreed.

  • pas assez de paroles

  • i agree with the first comment...

    Tooo good for eurovision

  • Yep,really this song is best !

  • I remember this Eurovision. I was in Europe on that period and I crossed fingers for this particular song. When it won I was very glad. After time when I saw CD of the Secret Garden in the USA I bought it instantly without looking at titles etc. My Friends ofter asked me how I knew it would be so good. I said it was "my old mystery".

  • love it

  • hmm..love her voice....its soothing as ever!!

  • this song is just amazing. Number one on my sex playlist :)

  • because here schools and useless...so i jealous where we have to pay here for everything...and u have it all free.... alwaays want it t learn violin but i haaven t time...i always have lessons and no free time..and the ironic thing is that all here...are unknownledge...with no respect ...i like your culture...i am proud for my past...and not for what we are now...but..they did us like we are...i wish i were from your country....with your rules of life......

  • this is my favorutive song from all the song of eurovision....i am from greece and i am jeaulous of you people...u have right schools and teachers ,you have respect...you have beautiful country...people with knowledges...who they don t have violence just for the fun...and you have the time and the help from the goverment to do things like music organs and athletics...here we don t have time for that...and after school we are going in an instutute where it learns the same things with school

  • So Celtic and so beautiful......

  • Oh my God!!! What an amazing song.

I always say that Norway and Sweden have remarkable and memorable entry but This song is fantastic!!!I came to know just now that it won Eurovision!!!

  • Amazing song and even more amazing that it was surpassed by the song that came after it in 1996

  • @Clockwork2011 I totally agree with you, for me Norwegean song in 1996 was the most beautiful of all songs in ESC.

  • Too good for Eurovision...

  • @enter08com Disagree. If more countries took this attitude to eurovision the contest would be a premium cultural event. It certainly is cultural lol but as a blue ribband song writing prize it would be right up there if we stopped believing certain songs are too good for it. Thank god for secret garden and others who have written some amazing tunes which stand the test of time.

  • @pimmagrimm yes!! but people are writing good songs! it's just that they don't come to the final of ESC! Like in Norway, in 2009, Alexander Rybak won over Tone Damli Aaberge with Butterflies, and in 2010, Didrik Solli Tangen won over Yes Man by Bjørn Johan Muri.... look those 2 songs up, I think they are so much better than the ones who won the norwegian finals...

  • @BrunostNOR People might disagree with you about Alexander Rybak.

  • it is a bit irish

  • @zerohumour Sounds a bit Japanese to me

  • I have been watching the Eurovision Song Contest since 1956 and I have to tell you that this is the winning entry that stands out in the mind most of all. Thanks to You Tube I have just re-discovered it.

  • @hayling122 Its funny, a little sidenote how she wrote this song and what inspired her. She rediscoverd herself after a 6man gangbang, involvling a midget, a wheelchair-bound redhaired little boy named Stefan, and Frans the labrador. She was hospitalized for the excrement she consumed during the act, but came back even stronger and wrote this magnificent song.

  • beautiful song¡¡ my congratulations

  • And please can you tell me why this song that touch perfection wasn't above the best of the best in the celebration of esc 50 years??

I'm sorry but we are finally deaf!

  • Maybe the best Eurovision song EVER!!!

  • Does anybody knows the name of the singer in this song?

  • One of the best songs ever written....

  • This is really very beautiful among all of the songs of the world, which is unique in Eurovision setting. It's classic for god's sake..

  • très belle chanson mais plus instrumentale que vocale.

  • Linda música, ela nos toca profundamente, Amo Secret Garden

  • a very tough year with great songs ! Norway was the most chill song that year! After 15 years this song gives me still the chills! LOVE IT ! !!

    Merry Christmas from Greece xxxx

  • BEST EUROVISION SONG EVER!

  • NO (R) WAY !

  • @waspazian Huh?

  • OMG! i'm sooo blown away, i close my eyes and i'm in another world, what a masterpiece , i think this is way to much for the ESC but this is glory

  • this must be dream

  • Q?

    QUE?

    QUEEEEE?

  • wonderful

  • Precioso

  • amazing song~

    travel me to paradise!

  • 6 dislikes? I expected 0

  • Amazing and Divine song !!!

  • waaaaaaao i ws thnking til nw tht fairy tale was the best ever song in eurovision bt waao ths song changed my thinking...

  • If you close your eyes and feel this music you're no longer in this world

    My favourite song

  • winner of the year i was born so i did'nt know the song buth because of lessons i had to look it up now i felt in love with this calm music

  • It was almost like Ireland won yet again. I used to work for Fionnuala's brother, incidentally. He was a total cunt.

  • brillant!

  • if feels life listening to such beatiful voices, lyrics, music..

is this violenist same one played for Eimear Quinn, 1996 Eurovision winner ?

  • It feals like flying when listening to this song. It's wonderful.

  • the year when i was born , also the year when the cool kids were born :)

  • This was the most beautiful eurovision winner there ever was and probably ever will be.

  • excellent song indeed

  • They are from Norway:D and I'm Norwegian. proud:P

  • Comment removed

  • I just love the violin in this song. So beautiful.

  • too bad i found about this songs only now,

    its very beatiful

  • do you know irelan helped write that song

  • very nice song! very sentimental and romantic!

  • The violinist is Fionnuala Sherry...from Ireland as it so happens! Interesting to note that the orchestra included the uilleann pipes, near the end of the era when a live orchestra also took part.

The 1995 contest took place at what was once The Point, Dublin, this win for Norway is partly Irish - however, Ireland can't win for 'half a time'...! Time No 8 may be long time coming.

  • there isnt a lot of singing going on but its such a beautiful song!

  • That's a fake! Not the original Norwegian song with the brillian singer!"

  • It is the female singer who makes this song! Why is she not famous and celebrated?

  • Such a beautiful song... She is a very great singer...

  • I think the greatest Euro song. Even with the hints of the Godfather theme in there somewhere lol

  • Well said, Centrixro - the most beautiful song ever!! The first version with Gunnhild Tvinnereim will always be closest to my heart.

  • GOOD

  • i almost fell asleep

  • perfect song

  • Beautiful song. A normal part of Norway won with this song .I liked the most is the man who played the flute

  • the first time i heard it, i was about 5 years old i think. I always listened to it while dreaming about faeries, knights and adventures in far lands. Now im sixteen and i've discovered the song again. Still dreaming...

  • @kiptie I don't remember when I heard it for the first time, but the melody is really imprinted in my memory...it's so wonderful..I'm 16 too btw, lol :P

  • @kiptie sorry but it is impossible...if you were 5 when you heard it, then you should be at least 20 years old, as 2010-1995=15, and then plus you age of 5 makes 20 :)

    calculate again

  • @wolfeheart yes but i heard it for the first time a couple of years after it won eurosong... I was 1 year old in 1995 so i couldn't hear it the first time then, could I?

So my calculation was right =D

  • @kiptie ya that's logically right :)

  • Oppskriften for at Norge skal vinne er tydeligvis å ha med en fele ^^, Didrik burde holde en i hånda mens han syng!

  • Absolutely beatiful, just listen:)

  • A song in eurovision must have att least 25 words that are sung.

max length of 3 min. min length of 2.15 min. Some other rules.

  • A work of art for sure.

Puts me in mind of Enya at her best and, of course, Darren Whaton's more recent releases with Dare.

Way, way way too good for Eurovision!

  • Jeg syntes den er litt fin jeg :D

  • It cant be instrumental so its a rule about that. A song in ESC has to contain 25 different words, and this song got it, so its a song.

  • I'm from Norway, but i don't understand why this song won... It's more a music piece as djs66 said. The contest ist named Eurovisiong SONGcontest...

  • @Joachover18 It is a song,my friend ,and probably one of the most just victories in the eurovision song contest.Unfortunately, lately everybody believes that this contest is only vision and no audio at all. But,they are so wrong.

  • best ever

  • right, but Eurovision "song" contest win with that woman, this is "music"

  • divine

  • It makes you wanna cry...

  • This song is too advanced for the Eurovision song contest, it has much depth and passion which is not what you see in Eurovision...

  • @BuddhaZenMind Still, it ended up as the winner…

  • @guraknugen Yeah I remember watching this 15 years ago and predicted they would white wash thier competition, lol:)

  • @BuddhaZenMind they used to have good songs on the eurovision now its all gone down the hill :'(

  • @BuddhaZenMind that's why they won ;)

  • Seee!!1 Norway + Violin = Eurovisjon win!

Good is it, that this years entry have violins in the background than.

  • @MarlinMr that should be the highest comment haha
