  • What a professional video!

Thanks for the production, we are headed to Kauai in October, 100 or more days from now!

  • She totally butchered Kalihiwai, not a problem though, every tourist does. It is pronounced KAH-LEE-HEE-Y. Thats the part with the waterfall right next to the road.

  • This is beautiful and informative! Thank you so much for sharing :)

  • How did you show your route on the map? Give me a hint. :)

  • Wailua is not really a town it's split in half part of wailua is lihue and the other half is kapaa. My mom and dad work in princeville but we live in wailua imagine driving from kapaa all the way to princeville every morning.

  • @1998maile Only an islander would think thats a long commute jk

its worth it if you live in a place like kuaui

  • fantasitc video! i lov e the way you showed your route on the map, a lot of nice touches in it, I wish you had video tours of the other islands too. ;)

  • very interesting. thx for posting.

  • mscoolgirl - I think you mean KALALAU, and not all of it is 2' wide.

And op EE ka? No. You even miss the okina. Her pronunciation was close on that one. o PAH eh KAH ah.

(But, yes, you're right about the "AH" in HAH-na-lei and HAH-na-pepe)

  • acctually there is a trail that goes through the napali called KALALOU its 12 miles of steep cliff and 2 ft wide paths.......you can acctually go onto the beach

  • HON a pe pe

  • op EE ka

  • kountry kitchen fucking rockes XD

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing.

  • perfect video. I just got back from my trip to Kauai, and we literally did everything you did. Its weird seeing that we did the same things, from staying in Princeville to going to the Canyon. The Na Pali Coast was unreal. Definitely worth the $149 a person. Aloha!

  • be there tommorow

  • bee there tomorrow hahaha best island ever.... cant wait...

  • ive had been to almost all the places in this video except the canyon lookout and queens bath

  • I have swam in the na pali coast...

  • We will be there in 3 days Thanks this was really well made. And a Big Help

  • Outstanding job. We loved our trip also. TY for helping us see the island again. We experienced some very nasty people, but far more were great. I was told it is the people who moved to Kauai after a visit that are the most crazy. You really did a nice job with this video. Thank you for sharing such beauty.

  • when you go back to kauai make a PART 2 video!!!

  • Hawaii is absolutley beautiful, but the locals are some of the most unwelcoming, rude people you'll ever meet!! Go to Thailand instead. It's MUCH cheaper, the beaches are nicer, and the Thai people are welcoming and friendly to visitors.

  • @euroguy8080 we aren't all unwelcoming, but how would you feel if someone came to your island and did all sorts of things the natives didn't want to happen and have all these people come to your land and destroy it. you'd be angry too.

  • @iammastershake1327 I understand that you want to preserve something special to you, and yes, I believe that an unfortunately large amount of tourists are very disrespectful to local customs when they're on holiday. Welcome to the modern world. I live in the UK, so I know exactly what it feels like when people come to "my island" and do things that "the natives" don't want to see happen! However, we Brits are MUCH more friendly to visitors than the hawaiians are.

  • You went up Waimea Canyon Road and turned around at Waimea Canyon Lookout?!?!?! That is lame! The Kalalau Lookout and the last lookout at the end of the road (Puu O Hina or something) were awesome! Also, you missed Tunnels and Hideaways! You found Kipu Falls though so I guess you aren't total amateurs.

  • soon i'll be in kauai..tnx God!

  • video well done!

  • Woot :D i love seeing vid's of where i live hehe. <-Kauai girl Kapaa side :DD so weird seeing it on the internet o.O

  • I love Kauai!!!!! I actually saw a dude from the show HEROES at the Hanalei shopping center!!! I want to go back to that beautiful island so bad!!!!! Love the vid

  • Ok advice wen me mi mom dad and bro went to Kauai we stayed in a house up in the moutains next time u go go there cause u have a great view of the mountain 5 waterfalls and ur only like 5 miles from the beach

  • Thank you so much! Your video was very informational!

  • Oh, this is wonderful! We "discovered" Kaua'i 11 years ago and since the have returned each year. Paradise...

  • hah i live in princeville, i was born in kaui

  • @JA4408 its kauai and i go everyear haha i love that island and i stay in princeville

  • Nice.

  • Wonderful video. We will be there Feb 15-21, 2010. Can't wait!

  • thats way to little time, when i first moved there it took me a month to see everything

  • well done this vid !!!

  • Wow!! Really good video!

  • We are trying to pick which island to visit and your video helped a lot! We may just go here!

  • Ey bodah2kea I hope you know our economy would be absolutely terrible if we did not have tourism. Yes there are lots of ignorant tourists but there are good ones too. I play football at uh manoa and I had visited Hawaii 13 times in 17 years before I came here. I know all names and speak fluent hawaiian. We are the tourists who belong. Not ignorant fags who destroy your culture.

  • I have been there twice and still watched you video. Very well done!!!

  • Come kauai but don't forget to go home!!!!

  • We're going to Kauai and I loved your video. Very well done and thanks for all the information.

  • Went there for my honeymoon last week it was BEAUTIFUL people should stop building and appreciate the life of Kauai

  • OK i tried to be nice....so much for Live Aloha! Small mind, no need to waste time!

  • This hawaiian braddah apreciates your video, and bodah2kea i understand where you coming from. Kudos to both of you!

  • no hawaiian i know uses the word "kudos". sound like some trustafarian to me.

  • This beautifully captures a visit to the "Garden Isle." Great job.

  • Hawaiiʻs tourism industry tells you all that you belong here. You dont. You dont belong to any where that you cant pronounce a single place name correctly, you walk around sacred sites unaware of there significance to Hawaiians, and you are blinded by your sense of entitlement to even be there. So again...you are neocolonizers(if that makes you feel better). but destructive pests non the less.

  • great video; thanks; how did you make that dynamic map presentation, any software used?

  • we are here in kauai on our honeymoon and have greatly enjoyed your video! You are quite talented! mahalo :)

  • just want to thank you fro the great vid, lots of info too i am going there in sept, like what you did with the map on screen as well, very clever, how did you do that

  • bodah2kea has issues, and just wants to stay stuck in the past. That's the only way to progress right? If you stay stuck in the past, your life will suck. so anyways, thanks for the nice video. i'm invading, i mean, visiting Kauai in a week and am looking forward to violating, i mean, visiting different areas.

  • Excuse me, but "bodah2kea". Your reasoning is illogical. Respectable people are supposed to be LOGICAL and that is certainly not YOU. So, why don't you just return back to whatever 'stupidity' you live in and stop making fun of tourists. To explore the island... do we have to learn EVERYTHING about it? Maybe you should go back to grade school you illegitimate jerk. Otherwise, Great Video!

  • good luck with that hahaha

  • Oh shut up.

  • tourist need to just stay home and learn about their own history and stop being vultures on other peoples heritage. Arrogant, entitled, twisted colonizers unwilling to look at the realities they perpetuate.

  • You know... the fact that you even call vacationers 'colonizers' revels the depths of your ignorance. You're like those people who call families looking to have a child 'breeders'. Slandering, bitter, repressed jack-offs who can't deal with the fact that other people live in the world around them. You talk a lot about the arrogance of tourists. But the only person here sounding full of themselves and their opinions is you. Here's a reality for you to perpetuate. You're part of the problem.

  • What a nice job you did with my favorite place in the world. I visit Kauai for a month every year except for this one because of the bad economy! Thanks for giving me this little visit!

  • You did a great job on this video. There is so much to see on this enchanted island, and you gave us a good taste. Too bad more people who are going to Kauai aren't watching this documentary.

  • You did a beautiful job on this video. We'll be in Kauai in two weeks and it gave me lots of ideas for things to do. Thanks!

  • You make me feel un comfortable when you talk...

  • At the beginning of the video Kim was reading "The Ultimate kauai Guidebook" by Andrew Doughty. These are the best Hawaii guidebooks. Nice video.

  • haha i went here a year ago and want to go again
