  • WHY IS NO ONE SEEING THE MASSIVE PARALLELS WITH ALIENS?!?!!?!? ARGGGGGH!!!

  • Pocahontas is an old story. Much older than when avatar was written. Yes, they are very similar and I'm sure he used it as a "theme". But look at all movies that are being made. Hardly any movies are unique anymore. A few like Inception come up with something new(I dont like the movie, and there might even be some like it) I'm just naming something.

This movie got bashed because it was so big. Enjoy an exciting and extremely beautiful movie and shut up.

  • james cameron is greattttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • "There's no green where I come from." Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!

  • @ERICARTMAN92 there's weed xD

  • @SergioSource Well of course there's weed. And even if there wasn't, just imagine what those cat people are puffin on.

  • what fag voice

  • @chingelish7901 thats what they want you to think.

  • I liked the film, do not get me wrong, but I thought that the plot was oddly similar to Pocahontas.

  • @Dragoj419 I agree , on terms of animation and special effects it was absolutely incredible, also the whole design of the creatures was brilliant but the plot wasn't that good :/

  • @Dragoj419 its want inspired james cameron to write the film and he wrote it just when pocahontas come out :)

  • @Dragoj419 The plot is also very very close to dances with wolves.

  • @chingelish7901 Opinions, I suppose. I just dislike this movie full stop.

  • Wow... How much did that camera cost? O.o

  • Mirko Saltalamacchia - Fotosints Clorophilla

  • Why the fuck does this show up on "avant-garde" music?!

  • Are they gonna make the sequel???

  • Neytiri spooted at1:20 Left and 1:24 Right in the pit?

  • Can't wait for the second film!!

  • Piranha 3d was better. Better plot, better characters(with the exception of Colonel Quaritch Hero of the Imperium!), better action, less plot holes. Think about that for a minute.

  • wow... how long did this movie take to make?

  • @ZoeIzAwsum 10 years

  • my eyes can't see 3D! I have never seen a 3D move in my life!! I HATE IT!! I MISSED THIS AMAZING PIECE OF ART!! DAMN IT!

  • @randomgal13 red blue 3d or reald 3d because my eyes cant see red blue 3d but real d works perfectly with my eyes

  • @KyleHarrisProduction i can't see either :(

  • @randomgal13 what eye thing you have :(?

  • @KyleHarrisProduction can't remember the names of it :/

  • 2 and a halfe hour movie? lol this mvie is 4 hours:P

  • hw i wish filipino filmmakers, hav this technology too.cuz it rocks.loool!

  • @JervicReyes only in america my man.only in america.

  • @xcode394 so wt man? that's y i said "how i wish..." .wahaha ano, cguro nman naintindihan mo yon, american?

  • Eversince Avatar, everysingle movie that comes out in theatres is going to be in 3-D. The use of this technology is to sometimes make a movie that sucks in to a good one, eventhough it doesn't work. The business is relying more on special effects than a good story line and characters. What I do admire is the use of 3-D for depth purposes and not for a some cheesy roller coaster ride were you are ducking from the screen half the time.

  • I watched this movie 7 times, and i'm still not tired of it. Best...Movie...Ever....

  • i loved this movie and couldn't believe the cgi in it but the 3d i didn't realize, at the start i was excited about the 3d but further into the movie i was sucked into it, but because i was into the movie so much i completely forgot about the 3d, at the end of the movie i almost walked out of the cinema wearing the glasses cuz i completely forgot about them.

  • 3D is a gimmick people. Stop falling for the marketing BS. It's not the future.

  • Thank you James Cameron for ruining the movie industry and for starting the god-awful 3-D revolution that's basically destroying the fun of going to the theater. Good thing Cameron didn't win Best Director.

  • lol personally i didnt really enjoy the movie that much it was good and amazing yeah but idk :)

  • i love good tecknology in making movies

  • And to think that Cameron lost Best Director to his ex-wife for The Hurt Locker....

    Talk about robbery.....

  • I first saw it on my tv, renting the dvd. Seeing it again in IMAX 3-d... wow!! Tell me no one else held out a hand to catch one of the seed floating by you. What a wonderful world they made.

  • I agree with J.M. cause when i saw the movie i felt like i was in it, and not like a catchphrase but morely like , it seemed to me a like a dream, and i kinda forgot about the fact that im in a movie theater with my buddies, and i only realized that when my buddy asked me if im still awake :P

  • GET TAHT COMPOUND LAWDED !

  • this remindes me a lot of a video game

  • @SpulpaczHD

Video games will look like this movie in about 10 years.

  • I love the film.. if you read the script jake has a bar fight at the start and says he wants something worth fighting for.. he found it... i think its a great film.. id love to go Pandora..

  • Boring movie.

  • hmm

  • @vaporage you can't even comprehend, just awesome

  • Watching it in real-d sucks. The image gets blurry, but when I take the glasses off the video looks super smooth.

  • The battle expert sux. I would have had the fliers carry rocks and drop them into the blades on all the machines. And what is w/ the charging guns on alien horses w/ bows & arrows. They should have been unmounted and stealth. Anything else is suicide! Landing on the ramp in the back of the bomber? More suicide. Kill the beast you kill the fleas. With the convoy that low the indigenous could have thrown rocks off the floating mountains. The battle was lame.

  • I never watched this movie in 3D(there are no 3D theaters near me). Can someone explain how it was like? I'm really curious. :P

  • well

getting reallife 3D experience is impossible since we can focus our eyes on objects with at a specific distance.

in a 3D movie which is still on a 2D surface our "focus" goes on the object the makers wan't you to see.

  • When do we get to the part about the sex?

  • I'm thinking of seeing this in 3-D if it goes back to theaters this fall, I wanted to know which type of 3-D would be the best. IMAX, Real D, Dolby, ect..

Which one did you see it in and how was it?

  • avatar100hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • i didnt get to see in 3d but still love the movie

  • Best movie of the decade? try best movie of the millenium!!!

  • @OfficialWomp

We should wait about another 991 years to judge if it's the the best movie of the millenium, don't you think?

  • this is the best movie ever it rocks

  • "I'm geeking out now - that's ok. That's ok!"

Man, it's like he's tripping and has to reassure himself his staying within the frame work of social conventions.

  • I just realized that the navi girl is the same girl who plays as the girl Pirate in pirates of the carribean :p I knew I knew her from somewhere! ... Wow I think she's from startrek too when I think about it..

  • @ben10150 which pirate girl?... theres elizabeth swann and many more.. its certainly not elizabeth swann cause thats keira knightley.

  • @Misami2 Zoe plays the goddess that was seal in "Pirate of the Carribean 3" and she was the one that turn to crabs when they were on the ship.

  • @Misami2 no not her :P When Jack Sparrow is picking out a crew she's the girl with the hat hiding her face for a bit. Her names anna maria. In the movie, she slaps jack and goes "You stole my boat!!!

I wouldn't really consider elizabeth a pirate untill the second or third movies haha

  • they picked the right actors to play in this movie they did a great job

  • Avatar's one of those movies you have to see in 3D first. I saw it in Blu-Ray 2D recently and it just wasn't the same at all. Great, but not just the jaw dropping experience it was in 3D. I wasn't entirely convinced I wasn't in the movie (XD), as one of those random Na'vi in the crowd. I was blown away by it completely. 3D first. :3

  • I saw avatar 3d on shrooms.

it's like watching a trip, while tripping.

    Fucking awesome.

  • There are so many scenes that didn't make the cut of the movie. I mean look at 0:34 and 2:18, that is why I can not wait for the directors cut...hopefully James adds a lot more scenes that he actually shot.

  • I remember walking out of this movie like " what the fuck just happened to me". Watching it in 3D IMAX wasnt really like watch a movie, it was more of an experience. My friends watched it online and a few went out and bought it yesterday and they all said it was good but we dont understand what everyone was freakin out about. I say if you didnt catch in 3DIMAX or atleast the big screen, you missed it. AMAZING MOVIE!

  • what pisses me off is how shitty movies like clash of the titans slap 3d on afterward and give James Cameron's artwork a bad name. I just hope people realize that when you take the time to do something as he has, it can be a great experience. I'm just hoping they can make the story great for the next feature about Pandora (and bring it up to the level of par that the visual effect had). Not that I hated the story, just thought it could have used some polish.

  • eu amei o filme muito bom eu acho o james cameron muito inteligente, excelente profissinal, dimais, parabens.

  • The tecnology of day is incrible!!!!

    Excelent!

  • To think that james cameron made Titanic, Terminator, and now Avatar-all noted as some of the best movies ever made makes me wonder how famous he will be after say, 5 more movies

  • Jim's a genius... I really wish he would've won Best Director. He most definately deserved it

  • @katiedid1023 yea, the oscars had me confused

  • I loved this movie. I saw it in 3D and it felt like I was really there. It was awesome!

  • during the movie i forgot i was wearing glasses

  • avatar was, without a doubt the best movie i have and probably will ever see, amazing cgi, amazing 3D effects and above all, seeing it 3 times, because you pick up on little details that you might have missed the previous time

  • @FORTY848, if star wars was made with the effects of now, it would have doubled the box office of avatar by like 2 times

  • @ReconCloneCommando yeah it would've, and it would be waaay way better than it is

  • watching this in 3D was AMAZING! watching movies just isn't the same anymore :P

  • best movie ever made! waiting for avatar 2.

  • avatar 3d was seriously the greatest cinematic experience ive ever had.

  • Love avatar!!

I dont know why, im just always falling for that kind of movies :)

  • albeit it didnt won best director, but hey...who gives a shit about hurt locker? my friend never even heard of that movie. nobody will remember it 10 years later, while avatar will remain as james cameron's legacy for the 21st century

  • so right! i totally forgot that i was wearing 3d glasses. i thoroughly enjoyed the movie :)

  • It's 3D scared me to death in a good way. I was like dodging away from the scary creatures. i thought they were going to jump at me. I also like the flying little things.

  • The part when the blow up the tree was awesome...The missiles were coming right at you

  • AVATAR > The Hurt Locker + Alice in Wonderland + Book of Eli + Shutter Island + EVERY OTHER MOVIE IN THE WORLD! :)

  • NOT Alice In Wonderland....

  • BASHED AND BOOED and after seeing it i can see why, it preaches peace and love and is the exact opposite of that overrated racist pile of shit the hurt locker.

  • @keflar5 I absolutely agree with you. Screw hollywood and their political ass kissing.

  • Best Movie of the Decade!

  • @Danishkringle3000 I agree : ) It was a stunning visual experience that I loved.

  • I loved this movie! Best one I've seen in forever.

I agree with what they're talking about. I too was like "Oh well, am I going to get freaked out tha things are coming out at me?!" But it wasn't like that at all and I LOVED IT.

    Best movie by far.

  • yes, I noticed the same thing, there was only once I got the feeling of something coming at me in the movie, which was great.

  • I hope ZOE / Neytiri is back in Avatar 2 and a close to a Billion dollar gross? mmm possible!

  • watch avatar here at evansvids. com/avatar

  • This movie is the best one I've ever seen and I think it'll stay that way for a long time.

  • @Calbrazil2007 It'll stay that way 'til I start making movies... :3

    ~|K|~

  • Steven Lang is so cool. I hope he'll be in Avatar 2.

  • Maybe if he would play characters that go beyond the depth of a piece of paper. :/

  • love the movie, started a group on facebook. i want to be one sooo bad. that would be awsome. i also thought we are destroying the planet wen i left the movie

  • Comment removed

  • i love it...is amazing

  • cool

  • its just the start

  • im getting a 3d monitor just for this game on 360 and for the future 3d games

  • saw 3D for the first time at this movie..AMAZING..well made awesomest movie..AWESOME

  • Yeah, it was my first 3D experience, too! Everybody's whining about the story being weak & unoriginal, but all I was interested in was the feeling of "being there", so I was actually glad to not be distracted by a convoluted plot. THAT would've given me a headache!

And yeah, I was one of those who got kinda depressed when I was standing at the bus stop afterwards, looking at all the asphalt, concrete & cars belching black smoke. "Boy, we uglied this planet up, didn't we!"

  • yup..i liked the story..got me thnkin or somthing..AMAZING though

  • ha! i did the same thing. i left the theatre looking at the pavement and the cars, and just had a sigh to myself about what weve done to this planet. :c

  • then you got into your car and used the paved roads to drive home to your elecricity powered house.

  • Why do people even bother making negative comments. If you don't like it - move on.

  • i like how the 3d was not all up in your face. oh really good movie by the way, its in my top 5 favs.

  • it's in my top one

  • I've seen it once and i really want to see it again. The film is something great!

  • The 3-D is amazing. No headaches, no motion sickness. Like James says it gives depth to the film and makes you part of the movie...spectacular. Went for the 4th time yesterday and it was still packed to the gills...damn this thing is really making the money, and it deserves it. THANK YOU JAMES CAMERON!

  • @bassplaya1549 You went 4 times!? Are you going to see the special edition?

  • @crimsonvipor lol 5 times actually...4 when I posted that comment...but yes I will for sure see the movie again with the 6-8 minutes of bonus footage...looking forward to it!

  • @bassplaya1549

Cameron is a great director. His insight in human emotions and technology adaptation, incl. improvement, even invention is extraordinary. I give him and his crew credit for advancing movie making onto a whole new level. he will surprise us with much more, I am convinced.

As to the critics in detail here, I say: do a better job, convince Cameron to listen to your ideas.

  • @DeVizardofOZ Thank GOD he's still at an age that he still has plenty left in him. I feel badly for him that he got robbed of Best Director from his ex-wife for The Hurt Locker. Although the Hurt Locker was a good movie, it wasn't nearly the masterpiece that Avatar was. I judge movies by my desire to see them over and over again, and The Hurt Locker doesn't come REMOTELY close to the impact of Avatar. Not REMOTELY.

  • @bassplaya1549 I really find it a shame. My mother thought 3D would be all shit, and was like "ah whatever"

now everybody tells it was awesome! And the movie is out of the cinema's :( I want 3D TV or something like that, lol!

  • I enjoyed the way 3-D was used in this film. I think the director really captured his goal.

  • This is all Weta Digital and Jim's vision. I want to see peter Jackson use weta again. Great movie.

  • faaaaaaaaaaantastic! Best film ever created. ever. and it will stay like that for a good while i believe.

  • Jame Cameron just invented the first real-time virtual camera...He had taken the camera off the tripod. Cinema will never be the same anymore. New movies in the furture will now blow our mind. An awesome 3D film.

  • well i obviously seen it in 3-D and thought it was feakin awesome but i wouldve liked to have ducked a few times even though it takes us out of the movie it reminds us what we payed an extra 3 dollars for!

  • For those ppl who didn't like Avatar, didn't like Disneylands, too What planet are you from? Some kids you just can't take them anywhere! Awesome film... go see it in 3D...mind-blowing!

  • your username isnt true, you have no penis!

  • Avatar Becomes Highest Grossing Film Of All Time

  • Yes, the IMAX 3d is epicsauce

  • I'd love to see it in imax in 3D

  • i saw it there...honestly theres not a HUGE different however the experience was still great! and still got toatlly enguldfed in the movie like i always do lol. you should go see it there

  • fuck you with all that spam...I payed to watch this movie at cinema 3D and it was great...just stop fucking destroying other ppls work...

  • @romanul70 Went to see it today... WOW!

  • get that compound loaded

  • Did anyone else notice that one of the 3D "gimmicks" was when they fired a smoke canister that bounced on the ground, and it almost hit the audience?? Did you guys all move your heads to the left to avoid the smoke canister as well?? That was awesome!

  • NICEEEEEE i so fukning want to work with that!! D:

  • it must to be a hell of fun to be james cameron, holy shit

  • Man forget that site it has those worthless surveys i do them but it stil doesn't unlock

  • this movie was awesome :DD

i watch AVATAR in 3D IT WAS AWESOME!

  • After seeing this movie in 3d i walked out of the theater think how dull real life is! This was no gimmick it was an immerse experience.

  • I thought the same thing, just as I stepped into my car. What a letdown.

  • Ah man me to I felt kinda crappy

  • Lol come over to this video "AVATAR - Neytiri Featurette", everyone of us are depressed but it helps to watch her and talk about it.

  • Maybe 3d is the wrong word for the 3D movie expeience but rather an immerse experience, watching the moive I felt that.too, l believe you right !

  • i like that. this experience drew you into the movie to me it enhanced the colors and textures and felt so taken, like i was there. i noticed things that stood out but the werent important...the feeling of watchin that movie was 'outstanding' as jake would say lol

  • I see you! LOL

  • he took WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long to make this film. 14 years?! like holy shit

  • @lamfaoohyaeh it is a long wait but it is worth it though, isn't it?i loved it...

  • He really didn't take 14 years to MAKE it...

The script of the film was written then, but JC felt that the technology for creating the movie wasn't ready, so he waited till the advancements in KING KONG and LOTR.

  • The production time was from 2007 to late 2009, about 3 1/2 years (usually the time it takes to create a movie). The original idea, concept and script was written over 12 years ago, but Cameron thought the technology wasn't high-tech enough to handle what he wanted to do. It truly is a brilliant movie though.

  • This movie was beautiful in so many ways.

No better way to put it.

  • this is a really good movie you really feel tht you are watching another planet

  • Some story elements aside...this was the single best movie going experience I've ever had. I work in Ophthalmology and understand "Stereo Vision" and depth perception so seeing the film this way for me made it much more enjoyable than "Gimmicky" 3D. And except for the mild headache towards the end...I really mostly forgot I was wearing the glasses. Bravo James Cameron for another triumph

  • fuck this movie im going to wathc it

  • saw this at Imax 3D, Best fucking movie...

  • i have been few hours ago to cinema and watched "AVATAR". i love it! it is a great movie

    cheers from romania!

  • horhat revas lol

  • i loved this movie

    kudos

  • "I'm geeking out now, it's okay."

  • i loved this movie

  • This is the most beautiful movie I have seen in my life, hands down. Cameron's use of 3D technology helped give Pandora the illusion that it's larger than life

  • hard to feel for animated characters
