Interesting. I think that this whole issue is ridiculous. First, it is wrong for the religious right to try and legislate their morality. It's also wrong for a religious monument to be removed just because it is religious. As for seperation of church and state, it works both ways. Government does not dictate religion and religion does not dictate government.

I know what you mean, and don't mean to be nit-pickin however, it's important to understand that God did not create death to punish man for his disobedience, but simply that the rejection of Life is an embrace of Death...as long as there is no rejection of Life then there is no embrace of Death i.e. no more death...final enemy to be destroyed.
I'm not sure what to believe about it, because there was already animal death and plant death and the "birth and death" of stars and planets... etc And like decomposition of plants and animals helps the grass to grow. Consider this...why would God make war against Death, if He created it. What kind of a God would create an adversary to defeat and be victorious over something made to lose in battle?
