As for the FIFA ranking argument it is pretty weak. You better check out the fifa rankings of 2008. Greece was 8th and Portugual 11th, and other countries like England were also lower. Greece was then better than England, Portugual etc and suddently Portugual by magic became #3 from #11 in two years? FIFA rankings change a lot, and they don't even consider the strength of opponents. It is just a point system. You better see how many positions Portugual will fall after new rankings are announced

I wouldn't accept a lecture from a Portuguese about politics and who is weaker. Protesting is a principal right of people. If you don't like protesting, and you are happy with your (lower than Greece) quality of life, that's fine
