New album....... Go on bring it out for Christmas plsss,Oh! and nice to see the T-Shirt in 'Where the wild things are' The intro music has me curious... off the new album? Great lesson as always.
I like your use of rolls in the riff. I found they're really useful for upper string sweeps, but I love how you applied it to hybrid and finger picking. It's a great technique. Thanks for the lesson.
And I'd like to note from a previous comment from a user asking for more metal riffs, really you can apply any of these riffs to metal by changing the stylistic technique(and desired key), and adding distortion. The beauty of music; the ability to sculpt your own sound.
Dave,Thanks for an example of your take on a Bmin pentatonic scale. this riff as you called it, and i've called many before this, is a facemelter in itself! thanks for sharing yet another great lesson.
They're in hibernation. I declined Ibanez's contract extension so that I can play any guitar I want. The Strat is the guitar I was meant to play. The Tele a very close second and then the LP. But these standards are a must.
btw can you do some metal riffs please, i love what you do but i myself am a metal guitarist and you tend to cover everything apart from metal with a few exeptions like in your phrygian
The riff and what you've shown of the song sound AMAZING. They are very melodic and musical but don't sound like everyone else has done it before. Great one! Too bad I have to wait til the 3rd record to hear it again.
great stuff as always. Is there a possibility of doing a video with alternate tunings? Would love to get a different viewpoint on what to play with them.
Love your playing...and your goldtop !

Love this riff. This is my favorite tone of yours. Shining clean on the les paul sounds great when you do it.

this all could fit into metal, especially prog, you want to have all these different styles and sounds you can pull out for play

Glad to know there will be a third. I love the first. I would like to hear the second....at some point. :o)
BTW, at 0:49 I spontaneously said "f*ck you Dave". :o) You know...because it was awesome and I didn't catch it right away. That means it's guuuuud.
Peace man.

im not going to lie, i really like how quiet the intro is compared to the others. the others are very abrasive.
