People died for the text. Nearly all of the 12 disciples were not only killed, but crucified for this guy. Paul awaited death in jail and STILL wrote of God's praise. Never in the history of this world could there have been such a widespread scandal both in geography and time as the bible was written over 60 years.

I believe in God. Specifically, the God of the bible. I also believe in Jesus. So you can say that makes me a Christian. I, from time to time, like to engage in discussion involving religion as a way to sharpen my own faith. Now, I am not in favor of most, nearly all, of the Church as an organization but I do believe it to be a critical part of any faith. I believe the Universe was created, but not by a random act of nature. To say something came from nothing is just nonsense in my opinion.

You can be an atheist and agnosticism are two different things. You are either believe in god or you don't, agnosticism isn't the maybe part, you can be a agnostic atheist in which Case you don't believe in a god but you are not certain, or a gnostic atheist which you are certain there is no god. @simonburbank Christianity is the most well documented religion both in sheer quantity of copies (the most of any text dating back to that time in fact) and accuracy of those copies. People died for the text. Nearly all of the 12 disciples were not only killed, but crucified for this guy. Paul awaited death in jail and STILL wrote of God's praise. Never in the history of this world could there have been such a widespread scandal both in geography and time as the bible was written over 60 years.

You have the Big Bang a little wrong. It wasn't a point of nothingness, it was a superdense point that held all matter and physical material that exists. The "bang" was when all of this material exploded (not with fire ;)) outward. Basically a high pressure area moving to a low pressure area.
But why does is make more sense that an almighty being created everything when this being has not given any evidence for it's existence, while reality suggests nonexistance?

@Iottiak i know what the Big Bang is. To clarify I said a point of "randomness" and not "nothingness". But that begs the question "Where did this point come from?" And you're back at square 1 again in that science according to sciences logic says that something cannot come from nothing. There are no exceptions in science. Only theories and laws. So something has always existed and from there i simply follow Occams Razor and take the simpler explanation which is clearly someone created this.

I believe in God. Specifically, the God of the bible. I also believe in Jesus. So you can say that makes me a Christian. I, from time to time, like to engage in discussion involving religion as a way to sharpen my own faith. Now, I am not in favor of most, nearly all, of the Church as an organization but I do believe it to be a critical part of any faith. I believe the Universe was created, but not by a random act of nature. To say something came from nothing is just nonsense in my opinion.

You can be an atheist and agnosticism are two different things. You are either believe in god or you don't, agnosticism isn't the maybe part, you can be a agnostic atheist in which Case you don't believe in a god but you are not certain, or a gnostic atheist which you are certain there is no god. It goes the same for agnostic and gnostic theists... It's a common misconception
