Esto fue en el verano de 1991. Luego de esta presentación en Viena tocaron en Ljubljana [Slovenija] justo tres dias antes de que empezara la guerra de independencia con los Serbios, que no querian permitir que se desmembrara Yugoeslavia. Tengo unas fotos de Pedro con un amigo mio fotografo en una fiesta en Ljubljana despues del concierto en el Krizanke... Unas semanas despues vinieron a tocar a Madrid en la Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas...

How do Lyle get that Hammond sound with his fingers still on the Steinway piano?

Is it pre-recorded or overdubbed, or do he have some kind of midi-pickup on the piano to control one of the synths? Or, perhaps, the video and sound are from different takes? (I've seen that before, in my own performances.)

It would be very interesting to know about!

@Svettjodd I have wondered this. I suppose it's possible that he had some kind of pickup system, but did that technology exist then? I know he used a similar thing on the Yamaha piano that he used for Solo, but that was years after this. My guess is that he might have been using something that he was triggering with his feet, or something like that? Not the most obvious, but I can't immediately think of any other way he might have done it...

@dlangegoogle That's a good point. Having made that comment however, I just recently read an interview from around then in which Lyle said that he used a MIDI piano, which he must be using there. I didn't think that technology was around then; Apparently I was wrong!

@dlangegoogle yes. I've read some interviews with Lyle. He uses triggers which are under keys and he could add some layers after pressing an additional pedal with his foot. Nowodays you could buy triggered Piano such us Yamaha disklavier, which Pat used during his orchestrion (disklavier could also play by itself ) but I think that every piano could be modified to midi one. I don't remember exactly brand which makes this modules, but is 100% for sure. Would be great to find this company!

Miren como será de completo que cuando decide dejar serú girán para ir a explorar nuevos caminos con pat metheny, charly y david lebón decidieron desarmar serú girán porque para reemplazar a pedro necesitaban cuatro músicos. Porque en serú pedro tocaba el bajo, cantaba, tocaba teclados, ayudaba con la percusión etc.... un genio completo!!!

Bueno, cuando Pedro dejó el Pat Metheny Group en 1992, tuvo que ser reemplazado por dos tipos muy calificados: David Blamires, Mark Ledford, son Pedro divididos en %50. Pedro es Pedro, que mas se puede decir es único!

Pedro es un Musico de exportacion, puede estar al lado de cualquier capo internacional.. con Pat Metheny hay algo increible, soy fanatico/enfermo, empecé de muy chico, y en su musica y mi cerebro se mezclas sentimientos, emociones, no se mira no te lo puedo explicar, siempre que subo un video de los viejos como este del 91, me pregunto que estaba haciendo yo en ese momento, me agarra nostalgia, por ej: montreal 1989 que lo tenes en favoritos, año en que nací :D

YEs he has so much protagonism throught the pat metheny's tours. The best thing is , pat allowed to include pedro's songs in the set's in years 1984/85, 1989.. Vidala and dream of the return, and mas alla has been played live. He was the best for this group, and nowadays he is glad of all he learn with him,, the last Pedro's album is very similar with this style.
