i done 12 flights and 10 jump from that crazy plane !!! 1976/77 Folgore Parachute Regiment in Italy ...few time we had to go back becase had engine problems!!
I saw this plane in Air Classics magazine: after filming and before the flight back, a truck backed under a wing and tore a gash into it. By the time the article went to press, the wing was repaired and the Box was winging back home.
@Lt51506 Just for your info, the three bladed prop was the last improvement to the C119G and F, designated C-119L. The Air Force finally got around to solving the propeller problem in 1970 with the Vietnam gun ships. The older 4 bladed Aero Products and Hamilton Standards were dangerous and sometimes caused fatal overspeeds and imbalance that could tare an engine from the wing. N15501,Canadian 12131 F model, was fitted with the 3 bladed props when still a fire bomber with Hawkins & Powers.
@Emotator the awful remake you mean yes, that is a C-119 like this .... but the great movie" Fight of the Phoenix" 1965, is a C -82, the predecessor of the C 119 The logo looks like the one for NOAA

This arplane appears to be a c82 judging by the windows in the front.

@donoesau The C-82's cockpit is much higher up and further back, and its nose is blunter.
