This movie just shows u how much every single rase has to work through to get to were they want to be and maybe everyone learns a lesson. ur beautiful outside and inside no matter what people say!

Is Precious not the darkest one in the movie? And does she not overcome everything? I have not seen the movie yet but I am sure the directors considered the "light" black and the "dark" black factor. What I am upset about is the fact that only few theaters are playing it =/

i dont think it is a light and darkthing. im darkskinned and i know im not bad but i have dated outside of my race which is white or other cultures then my own. i dont think its really about skin colour . i hate when people can only see with their eyes and not there heart. it doesnt matter what color u are it matters what type of person u are

Why are all of the antagonists dark, and the protagonists, the ones helping precious light. It's so sad how we play the same color games, and we don't even know it.

What's so sad is it's hour house now, meaning our movie. We can put the characters wherever we want to. Unfortunately we put them in the same category tht whites would put them. Te almost white, biracial characters are angels in precious' life while the darkskinned kids, father and mother are all evil. This is why precious dreams of having a lightskinned boyfriend. We subconsciously think they will treat us better. It's sad.

I was wondering if I was the only one hat noticed that. Everyone good, and everyone that shows Precious love, is light. Precious and everyone that is bad is dark skinned. It's sad because black directors in predominantly black cast movies, cast most likely by black cast directors continue to play into these colorist stereotypes. Light skin good, dark skin bad. I agree, its hard not to notice, dark skin, and I am dark skinned is associated w/ obesity, negativity, stupidity, abuse, all things horrible and sadness....Lee Daniels himself said he had an issue w/ dark skinned Black people growing up
