  • I love Rod, but this is crap.

  • Robert Palmer is a legend when singing this song....cmon rod, wtf...Good effort though.

  • Rods not as hot, but keep Roberts memory alive. DID I KNOW: Robert and Rod both did Some Guys Have All The Luck....just not sure who did it first..

  • Rods voice isn't as strong as it use to be.

  • I just love him!!! He is so Hot!!!! I'll never forget his tight red and black zebra pants, I bought a pair the only place I could where them was SanFransico to His concert!!

  • sorry to say rodney mullered this cover

  • Like this better than the original :P

  • In two words: PATHETIC and EMBARRASSING.

  • I thought this was gonna be good. I was wrong.

  • This isn't Rod's best effort.

  • Move over Robert Palmer! (Since he has passed away, I guess that should be "roll over). Now I feel guilty. Both men are/were geniuses.

  • FUCK OFF GRANDDAD YOU'RE CRAP!!!!

  • If there is any testament to the strength of this song, it is its survival of this cover by Rod Stewart.

  • i quite like this version

  • cambio de tema no c si se acuerdan de un grupo q se vestia cada uno de los integrantes de una profecion diferente porfa dingame q es urgente grax plis

  • @TheBastianbarreto se llaman village people : )

  • I like Florence + The Machine better. Sorry.

  • hÊh_ànYôÑe_wAññÀ_chÀt_wÍth_më_ì_feel_sô_lÔNély_tòDÀý◘

  • murdered that rod

  • YOU'RE GOOD ROD, BUT PLEASE PUT SOME ENERGY IN THIS !!!!

  • @granampa2009

If u want some energy in it: watch?v=tD92z5CHRsM

  • a song by Rod's good friend, Robert Palmer

  • I'm a Rod fan, but this is a poor version. Tina Turner does it better, but no-one gets close to the original.

  • @biffo3 you're right it sucks, however I think Rod is SHIT anyway!!

  • no where near gd as the original vocals..all in all a gd attempt

  • Those gurls are so hoooot!

  • Say what you want, but Rod sounds terribly flat on this. The tempo makes it sound like it's dragging. The background singers sound uninspired. Is that George Lynch doing the guitar solo? That was the best part.

  • AWESOME guitar solo .

  • Who's the guitarist?

  • watch?v=tD92z5CHRsM&feature=related

  • this is so sexy! haha i love rod <3

  • SUPER SUPER

  • weird al makes fun of this song i just heard this and i like it more now

  • The chic at 0:49 is beautiful in every sense.

  • Rod was awesome singing this just as was Robert. Some of you people leaving these horrible comments where are your YouTube videos. I get tired of Haters.

  • OMGoodness, as others have said, the band is pretty good, Rod not so much.

He makes a good effort but doesn't even come close to Mr. Palmer's original . . . unless you have a predisposition to like EVERYTHING Rod sings.

  • Good job Rod!

  • That band with robert palmer would be 5 stars! fuckin band is awsome!

  • I sure love those ladies !!!

  • Who's Addicted to this song come on everybody thumbs up for this song

  • ok Rod sing songs they wrote 4 u PLEEZ.

  • fantastic. I love this video.

  • @Monkeyhead1986 : As your name says, I can't pretend more from you !

  • Band is awesome. Rod's vocals...not so much. Wow...struggling to stay on pitch.

  • nice of him to do that.

  • !!! Me encanta Rod Stewart, tiene canciones muy buenas ..!!!

  • great song.

  • @barbaras1948 I love Rod Stewart but this is better by the orig Even though Elton John did Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds I like the Beatle version better I like the originals better. I give Rod Stewart credit for Rod Stewarts work.

  • The one...

    The only...

    The legend...

    ... is Robert Palmer!

  • band sounds incredible but not sure this really works.

  • NOBODY does Addicted to Love like Robert Palmer did it ...

  • @All4Seasons

    TINA !!!

  • @All4Seasons agree, he version is unique!!!!

  • I prefer Tina's version !!!!!

  • Sorry Rod...your good, but your voice/style isn't a fit to this song. But your still a legend and darn good artist.

  • agreed

  • you don't get it, sexy sax makes it nitro!!!!!!

  • sexy saxs makes it nitro!!!!!!!!!!

  • totally lovely.....i have this on dvd and its very good.....i love rod......thank you...

  • hey if Rod Stewart covered one of my songs, I'd be quite flattered, pretty cool tune here

  • I think it's very good.

And the guitar solo, omg, it's awesome, and don't you dare to say it's not!

  • @JoaoJMatias HELL yeah. Get DOWN on those strings! Nice!

Good old American rock guitar doesn't exist like that anymore. FUCK I miss the 80's.

    Yeah. I'm 32, BTW. Heh...

  • yeah. Rod, it just doesn't have what Robert Palmer has on his rendition. jdm

  • Rod knows his limits, tan, blonds, Maggie, but not Robert Oh no i am no addicted Roddy Boy thats a bad abd cover sorry man:-(

  • Nice gesture, but nowhere close to the real thing.

  • rod should have put more ooomff, more power behind his voice, n it would sound better. just saying

  • take it this was after Robert passed away .

    How could someone do that.

  • easily

  • true not nice though

  • Tina Turner did it during his lifetime, and not at all bad ... RP seemed to like it ... or rather, he said it paid enough to get his curtains cleaned. :-) It's funny how Rod's singing sounds much more like Tina than Robert.

  • Watch the whole concert. He says he was very very good friends with Robert....they drank together. Its a tribute to Robert and a pretty good one. I'm glad he isnt trying to sound like RP too.

  • Katja's the hottest sax player! Ooh, yeah! ;-)

  • This is the ultimate compliment to Mr. Robert Palmer, Mr. Rod Stewart, himself, doing "Addicted to Love"", the most popular music video on You Tube.

The only video that could even come closer than a millenium to this video is one from Sir Elton John, doing "addicted to Love', posted on You Tube.

  • Rod Palmer isn't dead yet, dimwits! Ahahahahahaha! :o)

  • Palmer died in 2003,

  • was this after Robert Palmer passed away?

  • R.I.P Rod... you will be dearly missed

  • What do you mean Rod?? Do you mean RoB?

  • rOD WAS AT HIS BEST WHEN HE WAS tWISTING THE nIGHT aWAY WITH THE 2 rONNIES- wOOD AND lANE AND ANYONE WHO THINKS hOT lEGS IS gREAT rOD- BETTER LISTEN TO HIS FIRST 2 ALBUMS-OR TO YOU CDS.

  • His key is normally higher, for him this is quite low

its robert palmers key...thats why he sounds better higher

  • The band are brilliant, the vocals errrrrr.....

  • Great tribute. Original will forever be the best x R.I.P MR PALMER X FOREVER MISSED XXX

  • you're an idiot

  • Is this before his throat surgery--I THINK SO

  • actually, no.´(:.

  • caps-lock ;).

  • The only thing that sucks is you, and your attitude. Do all of us a favor and keep it to your self asswipe.

  • Ya like that? Niiiice. Shake that booty!

    -dull-

  • HE SOUNDS GREAT. GOOD SONG

  • Why is it that he mostly only does covers anymore?

  • That's one bad ass guitarsolo:O

  • YES

  • Its all an illusion, I highly doubt all song writers had wrote there own songs. Why can't people make there own music with a guitar..Flutes and other things? Because its rare now days.

  • robert palmer does it so much better but i like rod too

  • I was happy to hear this was soo good.

I am not a fan of "cover" music, but this passes.

  • This song was performed as a tribute to Robert Palmer who at the time of this concert had "just " passed away. They were close friends.

Buy the DVD for this concert...Rod explains it before he does this song.

Rod Stewart wrote many big hits...that's a fact.

  • Of course I know that this is a Robert Palmer song. But Stewart is a great songwriter, too. Songs written by Rod Stewart: Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? I Was Only Joking You're in My Heart The Killing of Georgie (Part I and II) Tonight's the Night You Wear It Well Maggie May Young Turks.... By the way, I think that there`s no doubt that someone who played in groups like "The Jeff Beck Group" or "The Faces" would be a great musician...
  • Haha.

  • Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? was stolen from a Brazilian composer by dear old Rod..

  • That Brazilian composer probably had done the same.

  • It´s not about judging, maybe Rod performed the song in memory of his friend Robert Palmer?

  • I think both sing this good.

  • Robert Palmer was better

  • @Bobby61557

Indeed Robert Palmer's was classic, but give Rod credit for honouring his mate. Rod pays loving homage to his friend before this song is sung.

  • @jinx21fan you are so right!!

  • Sorry! Bobby Palmer 1949-2003

  • He says "Bobby!" at the beginning. I hope he refers to our beloved Bobby Palmer 1945-1997

  • Love Rod, but Tina Turner's version is far superior. Maybe he was having a bad day?

  • I prefer Tina Turner's version, but I like also Rod.

  • Who´s the lead guitar?

  • Ron Wood maybe

  • hehe no thats not Mr Wood

  • o iC thank you

  • Rods voice simply does not suit this song. It should only be sung by the orginal singer Robert Palmer-RIP-

  • Why does someone's version of a song have to be the same?? If you are in key then there is no issue.

Rod does a great job of this song. Just accept that it is different. ... Also this is live. we got used to RP's studio recording. Big difference.

  • he did the song as a tribue to his friend robert palmer. if you get the dvd or hear him talk about 2 minutes before the song you'd know that. he doesn't do it often, but this version is really good nonetheless

  • Well, I do like Rod, but this is just awful. Sorry. No energy whatsoever. He sounds like a lousy bar band vocalist.

  • i like how the sax player is hotter than the three back up singers

  • "quality" of addiction?, that's an oxymoron.

Addiction controls the addicted, Rod's singing expresses a person not acting of their free will, an addict.

  • I like Rod Stewart... but this just isn't his song...

  • THIS SONG WAS ORGINALLY SUNG BY ROBERT PALMER IN 1986 And Just Recently IT WAS PERFORMED BY TINA TURNER

  • coan sombody can tall me wher was this concert, please

    ??

  • Adunia2225 THE ONLY I CAN THINK OF ARE LOS ANGELES CA AT The Staples Center Or Fresno Ca At Selland Arena

  • Great understated singing...and the bassist rocks,excellent version !

  • Understated singing is for a different kind of song. The whole point is to portray the quality of ADDICTION and the POWER of desire.

Rod Stewart is just wonderful at the sensitive love songs. Palmer's tremendous gutsy energy is best for this kind of song.

  • I am addicted to love rock and roll forever!

One of best versions is the one from Tina Turner....that used to ROCK!

  • Hmmmm. I haven't heard Tina's... I'll bet she could deliver it too!

  • Haha.

  • this is better than palmer

  • he wasnt trying to be robert.he was remembering him in song

  • That's a fair statement. But Robert's is the quintessential interpretation.

  • Me encanta esta version de Rod como siempre jamas me defrauda genial¡¡

  • go my boy x

  • Rod, Your voice is too high for this song. However you are one of the best singers.

  • average singer. Amazing band. Sound incredble (better than Palmer's version)

  • Um, Robert Palmer was NEVER a member of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. You're thinking of Carl Palmer, NOT Robert...

  • Right !
