  • 'There's not a lot going on in this track'

    WHAT?!

  • Can anyone tell me where this footage is taken from, why is it only 44 secs, and where is the rest of it? Is there a 'making of ' type of thing somewhere?

  • isnt matt playing glorious while their speaking??

  • I love the sharp tone on the guitar at the start, what pedal do you think he is using?

  • @Tacadoband I think its a ZVEX Fuzz Factory

  • the 5 people who disliked must've thought it said: Dis I Like

    :D

  • Bass.

  • @MyTipsStardoll at around 0:25 on guitar but not amped up!

  • When it comes down to the question of deciding who I listen to:

Either the YouTube faithful saying "the American producer can go fuck himself"

Or Muse saying "this is the geezer we trust to produce our next album"

I think I'll go with Muse over you guys. See you later! ^_^

  • Do I hear the intro/outro of Glorious on the guitar when they're talking?? Or is this just me?

  • @geldessen25 I always here that intro/ outro. think its cause i listen to it WAY too much lol.

  • i am Muse obsessed. not a massive fan of this song. but my god thats a meaty riff

  • I'm going to say it because no one has yet:

Which is better, the "un-bassy" distorted bass or Brittany Spears?

  • that american shit hole can go screw his mom

  • Thats Rich Costey, cool dude

  • LOOOLL :L "im not sure i like that" ;) TOLLDDD

  • This is like God creating Earth. all of their music is.

  • glorious guitars! =)

  • That little fucker doesn't need to tell muse what to do.

  • @TheJerusal3m "That little fucker" is a great producer!

  • @Chemie89 He is great because of MUSE dumb shit!!!

  • @TheJerusal3m Oh yeah of course, silly me. He was a nobody till they came along. Do you even know who he is? Thought not. STFU unless you actually know what you are talking about. Its a shame the internet gives an opinion to morons such as yourself, and your "dumb shit" just makes you look like a child. Thank you and goodnight

  • @Chemie89 Silly me?? No you're fucking retarded... Thank you, Goodnight? Your cool...

  • @TheJerusal3m So you really are a kid? haha. You're not your....fanny

  • @Chemie89 Are you using a translator? That was stupid

  • @Chemie89 God it seems even my keyboard can't be bothered with wee shites like yourself. Once you can produce a great album like that then you can talk

  • @TheJerusal3m agreed!!

  • Never ever question the bassist! He will strike u down with his awesomeness and he will eat your soul! Lol chris for the win

  • Anyone else hear the intro to Glorious?

  • @Misishaxi yeah, me too

  • lol matt thinks the base needs to be more basie

  • @momeika bass....easy mistake to make :)

  • Is that the riff starting at 4:19 of glorious that I hear Matt playing while the producer is talking?

  • I want to fucking kick that guy in the throat for telling muse that there isn't a lot going on in their song!!

  • You can hear Matt playing the guitar part to Glorious too

  • lol the end,

Producer guy: its just going to sound like an extension to the guitar. and i would rather hear the bass then guitar

    *camera turned off*

Matt: get the fuck out of my studio

  • @tkaczyk1995 oh my god i laughed so hard at this! apparently DeLorean was thrown at a strobe light... It turns out it was this guys head lol.

  • @tkaczyk1995 hahahahaha id laugh for a whole day if thats how it really went..

  • lol, the bass needs to be bass-y.

  • where is this footage from??

because i would love for there to be footage on the whole album

  • The bass need to be bassy

  • that is one meaty riff

  • i love the way that matt really knows what he wants. he has a vision :)

  • Chris developed his own personal sound...Every bass player has a different style and a different sound...Chris's just sounds...epic lol without that sound none of their songs would the same as we hear them today. Just my opinion :P

  • A tree is a tree because of its treeness...

The bass needs to be bassy...

  • man, the efeects are good ahahah

  • at :14 does matt say "i think it just proves that the bass needs to be "bass-ier"? lol

  • @MyMelon13 Yeah. He says "I think it just proves that the bass needs to be bass-y". Haha..

  • i think he says the bass needs to be basic... not sure

  • bass needs to be "bassy"... as apposed to...

  • Bass can be trebly.. he means a deeper sound in the bass. It ain't that silly guys.. Chris' bass sound here is really high and distorted if you actually listen..

  • is there a whole documentary/video of the making of B and R?

Like there is for The resistance.

  • dude im talking about BH&R

  • erm according to MuseWiki there wasnt. The DVD included when it first came out was Absolution Tour. When it was re-released the DVD was of live performances of the songs.

  • was there a dvd like for resistance er something?

  • Is this the only video of them recording BH&R?

  • Lol the man with the white T-shirt makes me think about L, Death Note...

    Anyway, good video

    :)

    Long Live Muse ! :)

  • Matt:: "Hmm. I don't think I like that... AT ALL."

    HAHA.

  • Does someone play Glorius (b-side of invincible) at 0.24 - 0.33?

  • They asked him to produce the album for a reason. His job is to produce and give his ideas, not be a yes man.

  • Comment removed

  • no. they are sold out, you should have got your ticket the day they were released.

  • thnx but i got some

  • About halfway through, you can hear Bellamy 'messing around' on his guitar doing a few mind-blowingly quick patterns

  • ya it sounds like hes playing the ending of glorious

  • Comment removed

  • the best bit for the bass is in the second verse where there is no guitar that is so fuckin coool

  • You can almost hear Wolstenholme putting everything he has into his notes. So simple, yet so effective. He does a brilliant slide up and down the fretboard on the HAARP version before the guitar re-enters, which is really effective as well

  • He's absolutely right, you know. That bass needed to be more bassy and have lots of personality - and in the end they got it just perfect!

  • yeah, because of good producers making suggestions.

  • They ended up making Chris' Bassline simpler because i have heard the Bass Instrumental of Supermassive Blackhole, and the Guitar has the main riff only.

  • does as matt says four eyes!!!

  • Geniuses at work...

  • Dude, I think it would be sweet if the bass had it's own part for a bit like this, where the guitar drops out.

  • No the difference is, Britney has No Talent & Muse are beyond talent :)

  • @SweetT79

dont talk that way about brit! SHE RULES! DONT BE HARD ON HER! SHE HAS GONE THROUGH ALOT!

  • @meskalinmaskin she went through all of that because SHE WANTED TO.... and then that became the model of looots of teen girls aorund the world... and now you see them pregnant at 16 or... well you know... doing things they shouldn't

  • @Roypuma12 no, she went through all of that because her parents wanted her to become a star. she was pushed into showbiz thought she can't sing that good and though she doesnt look that great. It's a question of marketing...poor girl

  • @SaintUdnitz yaaay :D

  • she went through all of that because SHE WANTED TO.... and then that became the model of looots of teen girls aorund the world... and now you see them pregnant at 16 or... well you know... doing things they shouldn't

  • @SweetT79 thats not fair, she does have a talent for messing up such a gifted opportunity to get ahead. she also has a talent for being a totally fat mess.

  • lol good call, the only thing that Britney has which I won't knock is that she can dance & she's been taught how to but its not a huge talent but truth be told she can dance. But her biggest talent she's great at miming!

  • @SweetT79 also, yeeeaarrrs ago, she used to be fucking hot! check out the video for her song 'toxic' omg :D

  • @SweetT79 LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!! lol couldnt resist sorry

  • @SweetT79 Hear hear

  • the only difference is muse actually has talent

  • shut the fuck up you faggot, youll notice matt chris and dom didnt shave their heads ball cause they went insane cause the "fame got to them" shes such an attention seeking twatty fuck up, any one else hate britney spears?

  • i hate brittney spears, she needs to die

  • tbh i actually think the dude with glasses is right and the bass needs to be quite electric but a bit more bass like matt sed (a sort of bassy electro funk) :)

  • That's Rich Costey, he's produced the last 2 albums and worked with Rage and others.

  • fuckkk! i love that distorted bass sound

    so fuckin powerful!!!!!!

  • from 0:23 to the end you can hear matt playing around some patterns with clean & low guitar sound. i'm not quite sure its him but...

  • i wish i was there

  • Bah, producers...

  • OH SHIT, their having a ego brawl.

  • To all the people who say they can't wait for the next album, think about it like this. Enjoy the anticipation while it lasts, because once the album comes out and you've heard it, it'll be another 3 years plus and counting until their NEXT album. So just enjoy knowing that the actual next album is coming out within a year.

  • Well the album is coming out but also mainly to me the live performances!!

  • Hell yeah.

  • I Heard Muse's New Album Is Going To Be Released In September 09. Cant Wait

  • where dyou read that !? =D

  • Warner came out, and said it.

  • Yeah me too!

  • now thats just wicked :D like that song.. such legendarynessness.

it does sound like the glorious intro..? why did that get a negative thingy?

  • o well they still deserve it

  • this is legal to have been published ... right?

i love matt i need to google him so much and make him a most searched for star lol might take a while ...

  • it was original on muse website. so i don't see why not. i don't think they care tbh

  • Rich Costey + Nigel Godrich= Apocalypse

  • matt got pwned HAHAHAHA CHRIS NEEDS HIS SHINE!

  • i heard matt wants to do a 45 minute piece of classical rock. That sounds really cool!

  • 15 minute rock with clssical influences song

  • 15 min space-rock guitar solo, is what I believe he said.

  • i love to hear matt playng when his not supossed to xD, drinking and working, i love this breaks in youtube xD

  • that´s from muse official page! :)

  • Rich Costey is the guy who has mixed their last live dvd and it shows, it screams talent from start to finish and not only because of the band itself, the sound is masterfully remixed and edited .

Just watch the MOP edit of RC (from last year's single), it's an alternative version of the song and shows how gifted and competent Costey is .

People who are bashing him here have obviously ZERO clue about what a good producer is and his very role on a band's album .

  • excellent!, you're so right!

    - - -

    cheers!

  • well, i guess we will find out what Muse sound like without him soon

  • not that soon, they've stated a few days ago we will have to wait longer than expect to get their next effort

    Probably in one year time

  • good, means thier putting effort in :-)

  • huh three whole years to wait again, I'm off with them those days listening to a lot of old and new bands and that's a good thing if you ask me !

  • 3 years? wtf!!! it will only be a year from now before we start to hear more

  • Nah I was talking about 2006 to now

It's already 2 years and 3 months since BHR was released

Since they won't release the new one till one year time.....

It will be more than THREE WHOLE YEARS without listening to a proper NEW MUSE SOUND !!!!!

  • who knows who...

  • well, there are bands that take way longer than that.

so i think we can wait while they make their magic for us.

    =D

  • they never said a whole year, they said "next year" it cud be february or march for all we know!it should be brilliant when it is released though:)

  • They never said next year at all.....

To me they won't release it till Fall/Winter 09 to the very best.....

I was hoping for a Summer 09, since they love to release their album between June and September .

But now I strongly doubt it, they're totally taking their time before recording it fully and releasing it .

BTW that was a blessing in disguise to me, I've never been listening to so many different artists and bands and discovering a lot of new ones !

  • they did actually, an interview in the "hot press" magazine that ive got, was released a few weeks ago saying sometime next year, which cud be any time!

  • huh I don't expect it at all till a long time so at least I won't get obssessed with it unlike BHR !

At least they didn't play a single new track live, which makes the wait more bearable

  • i dont think so!i think the wait is unbearable coz they havent played any new!im dying to hear some new muse music!DYING TO!!!!!and i think the whole "man with a harmonica" set was kinda letting us know they're gonna experiment with different instruments!which should be extremely interesting!:)

  • huh? what do you mean? whats gonna happen to chris?

  • nothings gonna happen to Chris, i ment Rich Costey, Muse's next album is gonna be self produced in their own recording studio

  • YUM

    >>>YUM?

  • I read people here dismissing Rich Costey's opinion; hellooo ! he is one of the most demanded and talented producers in the music industry nowadays, he knows what he's talking about !

  • They're ignorant my friend, he is really important in both absolution and BHR greatness trust me ! (same for Haarp)

  • people commenting on this video arnt ignorant as such. they just have no clue AT ALL. they probably think that the band make all the decisions in a song. when it frankly aint true. if a band didn't have input from a producer then you'd probably end up with a dead song that sounds ok but could of been alot more

  • yeah his opinion is dead on. hes exactly right. really insightful

  • how do people get this videos

  • all the making stuff are or have been on the muse website sometime in the past. this one wa sput on the website when the new version was put online

  • Rich Costey here who sorry to tell you but MIXED the sound of "Live In Haarp DVD" as well as the last album of the Foo Fighters (and it shows THE PRETENDER KICKS ALL KIND OF ASSES)

  • Matt is so cute and polite

"I'm not sure I like that" at 25 secs.

  • that's chris that says that.

  • @Joe22c That's Chris talking, no?

  • That guy shouldn't be telling them what to do. I'm glad their next album is self produced.

  • "That guy" is Rich Costey and he produced Absolution with Muse too..

  • Yes and to me and a lot of muse fans, their studio sound has gone "plastic-like", shallow.

  • Has he work with Radiohead ? I heard that

  • No that was John Leckie, he produced Showbiz with Muse

  • He did rage.

    come on. RAGE

  • yeah its going to be self produced, im excited to hear this new album, hearing that its going to be SELF-PRODUCED.

  • muse is rumored to make they're upcoming album self-produced.

  • that is true the album is going to be a self-produced album with more of an electric feel, i read this in an artical about 2 weeks back i don't rember where though so if you don't belive me just google it and look alittle

  • Now I'm even more excited for the next album. ^_^ Speaking of, anyone know when it's due? Or if they've started recording yet? I haven't done any research or anything, so I'm clueless.

  • its beening recorded, as for when its going to be released, no clue.

  • they have wrote a few songs, but not recorded any yet, they're getting all the songs together, and apparently a orchestra, and they are hoping to release it around July/August

  • They've also told something about votes on the web for select the 11 tracks of their album, they'll propose some and they will take the most appreicated ones (NME mag)

  • sell me ur akai deep impact plz. i need 1 and u cant find em anywhere.

  • is that the legendary Rich Costey? I know he worked on Absolution, I dunno about BHaR. I can imagine he and Matt get along well since he produced Rage Against the Machine.

  • Isn't Rick Rubin who works whit Rage Against Tha Machine?

  • Yeah and Slayer and the Beastie Boys. And he also worked with RHCP. And System Of A Down!

  • ya you fucking retard listen to the masta

    Muse 4ever <3

  • Hey You, Man. Listen to Matt.

  • there should be a dvd like this. like a "making of" documentary ya know. that would be really cool to see the making of black holes and revelations. but yeah i agree too, i envy chris's gear. awesome bass player. love the distorted bass

  • really like to watch this kind of stuff!

  • It's funny because its rumored that muse will Produce their own album this time around. Wonder Why?

  • i think they eventually did use that effect in the chorus...

  • That effect is killer! I'm envious of Chris and his setup...

  • whered u get this clip?

  • just listen to matt, he knows what he's fucking talking about.

  • I doubt they would have the producer there if he didn't know what he was talking about... sometimes it's good to have a second opinion that isn't biased.

  • where is this??

  • love in studio stuff.

  • he he he cool...
