Yeah it is. It's funny cos Patrick's BF is called William, so it's as if he's referring to him. But I originally thought by William he meant William Butler Yeats, because he has a book of poems called 'The Tower' and also a poem by the same name within the collection, thus "William, where is the tower?".
Who knows? Coincidence maybe?
Also, back in 2007 Patrick put the following poem/lyric up on his MySpace blog "for william yeats" which would suggest it was about him in the first place:
