i think your about right about dogs digging cus it promoted their survival, i think its also for a place to rest/sleep. You didnt imply this, but for my sake, purposeless does not need to be a negative. But I do have a question of you, do you discredit the possibility of a suchness of infinite attributes, such being called God?
I'm not sure what I was trying to do with this video, but I was being sarcastic in most of it.
Purposelessness is not a "bad thing," I agree. If we had a clear and unchanging purpose, we'd be slaves to that goal and that goal only! Doesn't sound very exciting.
About God... I don't discredit the possibility. I was being sarcastic in this video because it was a response to inmendham.
Those are good questions. Very thought provoking. I have often wondered if there is a purpose for life. Sometimes I think it's just from a fortunate accident that people came to exist on Earth. Whether it be from the dust from comets or the idea of the anthropic principle, if the universe had been different, life may never have been possible.
Sounds like you're just speculating about suffering and I hope so. But it is a good question that doesn't seem to be of much use in our personal lives. A person sees their cage and it only strenghthens the bars.
Nature is a machine, but the self is a part of the whole. This doesn't diminish the significance of the existence of the self. It is inspirational and sublime.
Your dog buried a bone out there at some time in the past, and now he's trying to find it. I wish we would make G.O.D. stand for the Guarantor of Decisions. That might be a way to study the idea that there is such a thing as human purpose. Every coherent human system could use this to make sure it's gaining on its goals. Not as a god but as a god might be. It is the best we're going to do. Nick and Gary are scientific rationalists. They will give you the same answers EVERY time you ask, Matt.
blue is the color of the bliss plane, the heart chakra, the sky, the stars, the gateway out of the maze. Stuck limited dimensional perceptions we can not see the end of the maze, we feel trapped when we reach dead ends, we feel hopeless, and Im not claiming to know how but if we could see the maze from an elevation, an extra-D, perhaps we wouldn't be so worried, & take things so seriously. Its hard to relay directional language without seeing the way out with absolute clarity and certainty.

Matt,
Sounds like you're just speculating about suffering and I hope so. But it is a good question that doesn't seem to be of much use in our personal lives. A person sees their cage and it only strenghthens the bars.
