Can anyone please tell me exactly what a compact stroke is? I've heard the term many times but I've never understood what it meant. Also I'm having trouble creating angles with my volleys, can anyone give me some advice?

just practice. once you get more and more comfortable at net, you will naturally be able to produce angles.

a compact stroke is just a stroke that is short, and doesn't have any unneccasary motion.

Watch how important it is for any budding volleyers to mirror andy's extremely compact swing. Lead with the butt of the racquet and have it pull the rest of the racquet in a short, sharp staccato punch.

good feet are key too. he has a very solid grip on those shots too.

i think his forehand volleys are a little to much beside him they should be more infront i use to have that problem intill my coach teid a string with a piece of plastic to the top of my racquet and my arm so i wasnt able to swing at the ball or hit behingd me
