Kennedy was Catholic, and one of the tenets of that faith is that a foreign head of state is infallible. One time stimulus expenditures, TARP (passed under Bush), increase in food stamps and unemployment checks, decrease in tax revenue, etc etc. Many of these would have occured under McCain as well.
