@Jezy12 in the live action movie he was a rat that copied his master but in the 80's cartoon he was a human that lived in the sewers and the mutagen changed him into a rat.

Rather than being a rat changed into a rat-man by mutagen, he was a man-a master martial artist-changed into a rat-man by mutagen. I believe he trained alongside Shredder and when Shredder tried to take over the dojo they were training at, they fought. Splinter was defeated, I think, and fled into the sewers, where he encountered the Mutagen.
In my years of playing games the lake area in this game was by far the most annoying to me....well aside from missing the jump to get to the lake in the first place. Shamefully I will admit the only time I ever beat the lake was by going over to my friends house and using his Game Genie....what was I thinking at 8?
the water level in my memory was the favorite just because it took me forever to get past it, so when i did the good feelings were etched into my memory

At trick for the boomerangs, if you throw three of them and switch to another turtle that has boomerangs or no secondary weapons, they get the three boomerangs on that turtle's secondary. It's a useless secret.
Stupid how there are certain areas in the underwater level that you can't avoid taking damage. That one bomb behind two electric currents always does damage to me because you have to swim against the current to get out of there. Worst part is that there's no pizza that you can collect to restore health.
@norsemustang actually you CANNN get through that without taking damage, but it's a 1 in 1,000 chance. I played through that part over and over again on an emulator to get good at it, and only once did I go through the section you described unscathed. ha

IVE GOT LIKE 5 SECONDS LEFT!" then id find it with little to no time, and RIGHT when i touch the bomb, BOOM game over...such...*strains*great*exhale* memories...
You know. I've think about it more and more as I watch this. Maybe the tunnel/seaweed maze thing isn't the dam itself. Maybe the foot clan tunneled UNDER the dam and planted the bombs there, you know, trying to destroy the foundation rather than the dam itself?
Seriously, fuck this level. I remember playing this as a kid, and I could never find the last bomb. By the time i did, i was either too weak to get to it, or didn't have enough time left to disarm the bomb
My Brothers and I played the hell out of this game and we still couldn't beat it. But I was the first one to beat this level of the 3 of us and that was so cool.
The swimming level if you remain patient, you could get through it with 20 seconds left on the time limit and not take too much damage. This is a good area to use either Raphael or Michaelangelo since Donatello (or even Leonardo) are valuable for later stages.
Yeah, as long as you know where to go from trial and error. The game fucks with your head because you will never know how far you got to go to get to the next bomb!

Yes the music is awesome it's just like the Music from Jurassic Park on Both NES and SNES, My favorite track In this Game is when You beat the Level, and to all of You that don't know Yes You can save captured Turtles though out the Game.
This is a little after the fact, but it's a long standing tradition in TMNT video games that for some reason shredder always communicates through the television when he captures someone. I guess he did it a lot in the comics or something? Never read em...
This was my favorite Nintendo Game! I was 7 when it came out. I played it all the time but I NEVER BEAT IT! I only got to the final level one time (I remember it because it was one long day of playing this game...)
I can get through contra without using a continue, but I have never beaten this game. It seems fun and interesting until you play the dam. Then it's like friggin' brain surgery.
I would always get to the 7th bomb then i'd either die or time would run out

This was my favorite Nintendo Game! I was 7 when it came out. I played it all the time but I NEVER BEAT IT! I only got to the final level one time (I remember it because it was one long day of playing this game...)

Mike was never my favorite turtle, so I used him in the water area most...
I never knew the plot either, i was rally young when I had this game and remember nothing of the story, or even having the manual for that matter.
I did love this game though.

The timer on the bombs are set when you jump in the lake, so don't jump in the lake and go right to level 3. It's what I would do. Oh well.

I can get through contra without using a continue, but I have never beaten this game. It seems fun and interesting until you play the dam. Then it's like friggin' brain surgery.
