i can do it briefly when i am very relaxed and laying down, but i never spend a lot of time in it before going back to regular kargyraa. sounds very difficult. great video!
The root of kargyraa is droning the low end of your normal voice, and simultaneously vibrating your ventricular cords, which create the full octave below your droning voice. Oiduupaa, is a much more "squeezed" version permitting you to talk during kargyraa easier... which is not to say it IS easier. It's very hard to do properly and takes a long long time to build up your, both vocal, and ventricular cords.
Good trying to explain WHERE it comes from though.
Wow, thanks for the great explanation. I'm really bad at these kind of terms since I've never made a study of it. I think this helps a lot of people understanding what has to be done, even me.
I have no idea. I'm still learning :D But to get proper control takes about a month. (after you find out how) I don't really know, time goes by so fast...
Well karygraa is the most thoathy type of throat singing so i wouldn't call that a base at all. But overtone singing is used in all kinds of styles, that's true.
well sure, you right buddy! I forgot to mention I'm focusing on overtones not throat singing in general...would you say it works better with one specific (traditional) technique?
Well, I must say one thing. It's really weird, but i nearly mastered it in 5 days. Well, I've been training as much as i could. The most important thing is not to overdo with throat. So - 5 mins of training, 15 of rest. later, I was able to 10:10 ratio. Also, another important thing is to drink TEA with big doses of GINGER, with milk and honey.) Now i'm starting to use jaw rippers, and so. Yet, I'll post some vids on YT... Soon.
Alright V! Very, very informative! I figured that there was some nasal stuff being included in the style, but I never thought about using the top part of my throat rather than the bottom. Anyway, this is just what I needed! Thank you very much!
I'll tell/show you how it works out for me after I've practiced it a bit.
Thx, I'm glad you're satisfied. If you need some more info on this, please ask me, because I'm almost positive that I forgot to tell something :D Good luck!

HOW LONG did it take you to master a clear & controlled overtone/ whistle?
cause I still do have trouble making it just sound right...
GREAT LESSON though, keep it up!

as far as I know it is not even necessary to use kargyraa as a basis so any other more european chest singing would equally work, is that right?

See, -that- is an instructional video, Valentijn,
and by far the most entertaining. Your somber vids
are beautiful but it's good to know that you can be
funny as well. Too much beautiful sadness isn't good
for anyone.
