Amazing, fun, interesting - and that learning must be fun. It certainly can be fun, but we are misleading children that learning is not worthwhile unless it is accompanied by giraffes jumping through flaming hoops. Or magic tricks.
I think, sometimes, that we should respect the children we teach by letting them know that learning can occasionally be very boring - percentages, fractions or ... learning to drive a car - but it just has to be done.
