i only played spyro 1-3 back on my PS1... i didnt even know there were all these new games and Legend of Spyro until today.

Help me get this straight, it looks like Legend of Spyro changed the gameplay to a more action, beat em up style, far from the classic spyro gameplay? correct?

The Legend series wasn't too bad.

It just didn't have the classic "Spyro" feel that gave Spyro the name that it probably should have now, and not a beatemup. The Legend series was alright, I actually have A New Beginning, but I'd much rather play Spyro the Dragon than play The Legend of Spyro

Now this is the story all about how I can like TLoS and ENter the dragonfly and hate the original three Spyro games.

1. I grew up with a gamecube, so I was exposed to the "good" version of Enter the drqagonfly which was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

2. Several years later, I had a crazy dream and Spyro was in it, and a theme similar to the valley of avalar intro theme in Dawn of the dragon

3. I bought Dawn of the dragon on Wii

4. Crossed the game hate phase

5. Played YoTD hated it.

@rayman1014 The gamecube version of Enter the Dragonfly was significantly better than the playstation one. That's what I meant.. P.S., on the GC, the flame and charge buttons are the reverse of AN hero's tail. (I never got the title to that game anyway.) TLoS sucks if you were playing for gameplay, and not emotional relief.

@MasterMorty "Significantly"? aside from consoles the introductory was stupid, and that stupid DOING noise that happened everytime you lost or failed at a test was annoying!. and wtf do you mean by emotional relief? I played Tlos and the melee was good and so were the new skills. but the storyline was simply stupid, what was a simple ps1 game about a "normal" dragon collecting gems, went to a "Special" dragon upgrading skills using gems and a cheezy storyline (i agree wtf is up with the tail)

@ichooseupikachu1 Ok here is the thing, in LoS, they COMPLETELY changed the game. Its as if they made an astroids clone, and called it tetris just to confuse the hell out of everyone. The only thing LoS has in common with the Spyro series is the main character is a Purple Dragon, plus 1 or 2 camios who are NOTHING LIKE the original characters.

Hunter for example, in the original series he was just comic relief, in LoS he's a bloody warrior.

Actually, you can blame that on Skylander's. After TLoS disasters, they could of gone back to the original style, but they have now committed to a whole new spin off series. I still have a bit of hope that they will realize that Spyro's presence adds nothing to the kid-wallet eating Skylanders and just take him out of it. Then we can have a real Spyro game.

The 3rd Legend game has gameplay so different from the originals that it doesn't feel like a cheap rip-off of the classics like the first two did. Its more like a medieval platformer version of Starfox.

I saw a gameplay video and I immediately sa where you were going. even though I never played it, what TLOS looks like now is more like ratchet and clank with an anti gravity mod. Spyro should stay the way it was in the first 3 parts. I played the first 3 (awesome), Season of ice (acceptable) and Enter the dragonfly (so horrible). the original was the best in this franchise :/
