A prime Westbrook had zero flaws. The man was a great runner, even better pass-catcher, elite in pass-protection, never committed a penalty, and he could get the tough yards. It will be a long time before we see somebody like this again.

He IS injury prone. Yes, there is a way to avoid injuries, it's called size and it's the reason Westbrook was so low in the draft. I love him and couldn't fathom a better RB, but the fact of that matter is that he's small and injury prone. I think the fact that he's nearing the later years of his career and he still hasn't played a full season in the NFL speaks volumes about what happens when your under 6ft in the NFL.

There's an exception to every rule, but EVERYONE knows that smaller guys take harder hits and therefore are more injury prone. It's completely logical, and again, the reason why a lot of these small players aren't high on the draft. Not many people wanted Westbrook, then he turned out to be one of the best runnning backs out there. You take a risk but it's stupid to say there is no risk involved with small guys.
Westbrook is 5' 10" and Jones Drew is 5'4" look it up. They don't take harder hits like big guys because there hard to hit and more shifty. It makes absolutely no sense what you are saying. People that are smaller and more agile tend to not get hit as much as the bigger guys that have more body to hit.

A prime Westbrook had zero flaws. The man was a great runner, even better pass-catcher, elite in pass-protection, never committed a penalty, and he could get the tough yards. It will be a long time before we see somebody like this again.

im a huge eagles fan- but how the fuck can we release brian westbrook? he has been so humble and has done so much. we would definitely not be where we are right now if it wasnt for him. we should reward him with a sb, not a release. this is one of the dumbest decisions by the coaching staff. it breaks my heart. he still would have been elite. he should still be on the eagles.

im an eagles fan too, but i think the reason why hes released is that hes to old and gets injured too much. and for that he gets a very high paycheck and you gotta remember the eagles are a franchise system and i think in the headquarters mind its waste of money...

I'm surprise and not, they release him on logic calculation and the AGE factor was the equation that can't be put aside. I honestly don't think Brian Westbrook has no more gas in the tank I hope he end up with a team that has the chance to win the super bowl. God bless B-West, hope he come back from those concussions. Everybody says he's injury prone, but people don't realize that concussion can happen to anybody on any different play. There is no such thing as injury prone, if you're destined to get hurt you are. There's no way of playing so you can avoid injuries, you just gotta hope for the best...

He IS injury prone. Yes, there is a way to avoid injuries, it's called size and it's the reason Westbrook was so low in the draft. I love him and couldn't fathom a better RB, but the fact of that matter is that he's small and injury prone. I think the fact that he's nearing the later years of his career and he still hasn't played a full season in the NFL speaks volumes about what happens when your under 6ft in the NFL.

Uh, he's the same height as Westbrook, that's not "barely above 5 feet."
There's an exception to every rule, but EVERYONE knows that smaller guys take harder hits and therefore are more injury prone. It's completely logical, and again, the reason why a lot of these small players aren't high on the draft. Not many people wanted Westbrook, then he turned out to be one of the best runnning backs out there. You take a risk but it's stupid to say there is no risk involved with small guys.

Westbrook is 5' 10" and Jones Drew is 5'4" look it up. They don't take harder hits like big guys because there hard to hit and more shifty. It makes absolutely no sense what you are saying. People that are smaller and more agile tend to not get hit as much as the bigger guys that have more body to hit.

You're logic is absolutely retarded. Being more agile than your average defender doesn't mean you get tackled any less. In fact, if you're a Running Back, you get tackled quite often. Seeing as how your job is to run at (and then preferably past) the defenders.
They take harder hits. Plain and simple. A larger guy hitting a smaller guy, the lesser mass takes the brunt of the energy transfered.

By the way, take a look into how the Eagles got Westbrook in the first place. You will see that it was, despite his great college stats, because he was small and teams worried he would be injury prone. They were absolutely right. Go figure.

No, it was because he came from a smaller school in Villanova, he had 2 major knee injuries in college and high school. They also had Duece and Correll Buckhalter. Backs that are smaller and more leaner last longer in this league. It's a fact and what you don't realize that, it doesn't matter if you're small, big, or anything. If you're meant to get hurt you are. Donovan used to be called injury prone he's 6' 1", L.J. Smith get's hurt a lot he's 6' 4". I can name countless others.

They get full hits probably more than anyone on the field. Pair that that with basic physics, two guys hitting the smaller will take the brunt of the hit.
