  • Iceland has remained the most true to Norwegian culture... They are the closest today to Norsemen. may they prosper.

  • Nice anthem

  • djöfull kemst maður við

  • The perfect Anthem ....

  • I'm an Icelander living oversaes too. Yeah the anthem is beautiful and we should all respect it but the thing I find sad is that there is only a handful of people that can actually sing it and a national anthem should be a happy song veryone can sing. It doesn´t unite people like national anthem in so many other countries do.

  • Gud blessi Island

  • This anthem is so beautiful, just like the nation...

    Greetings from Sweden

  • Is this a very moving and beautiful song. It's very powerful and flows wonderfully. Iceland is a very beautiful country and it's shown in such a magnificent anthem. God bless our Icelandic brethren!

Much adoration from the United States.

  • Iceland is best land.

  • Is there any record of the ENTIRE icelandic anthem, with all three stanzas? I' dlike sooooo much to listen to the ENTIRE icelandic "Lofsöngur"! Makes me crazy, happy, inspired, free! Just like the icelandic people is!

  • @ThornyRoseV að fordæma þetta lag

  • @ThornyRoseV ég get verið sammála þér um að kristni var þröngvað upp á okkur og því að þetta lag ætti ekki að vera þjóðarlag okkar og í raun því að þjóðarlag ætti ekki að hafa neinar vitnanir í trúarleg ákvæði en þetta lag var kosið sem þjóðarlag okkar hvort sem það var gert af þjóðinni eður ei og ættir þú að vera stolltur af því hvort sem var og maður á ávallt að vera stolltur af þjóðarlagi sínu hvar svosem það má hava komið frá.

svo vinsamlegast ekki gera lítið ú íslensku þjóðinni með því

  • salutes from Spain. Feeling in love with your brave country. God bless Iceland

  • would be interesting to read out the lyrics of the anthem - and perhaps a translation for those who do not speak the language

    blessings

    UmK

  • Ég þarf að fara til Íslands aftur fljótlega!

  • that's a mighty funny alphabet you got there

  • God Bless Iceland. The last true bastion of civilisation. You stood up to the global banking cartel & are free from the alien domination.

You wont read it in the European globalist controlled newspapers, but many free thinking Europeans, particularly north Europeans have great respect for you. In the meantime the rest of Europe is run by crooks who have no interest in our traditions & values.

  • @ALBIONTYKE

i did not know that about Iceland - you made me want to get to know this country/nation more

  • I listen the Icelandic Anthem for the very first time. It is melodious. Amazing !

  • In August I will study in Reykjavík for a whole year, I'm so glad about it. I just love this island and the people. Don't join EU, stay out of it and have a more relaxed time in future. :)

  • Ísland bezt í heimi!

  • This September we're going to Iceland for the 2nd time. This time we'll drive around the island. Last year we were pretty impressed by Iceland...so that's why we visit again. My personal opinion: If the world goes down in chaos..we'll move to Iceland!!! Though Iceland has had many problems in the last few years I think you (the Islanders) can be very proud and lucky that you live in a country like this. I wish I could same the same. Last year when I visited you....it felt like home!!

  • You are lucky people, Spanish summer nights with more than 20ºC are infernal and its difficult to sleep!!

  • Hvílik fegurd! Hvað prýði!!!!!

  • come on,Icelandic brothers!! we hang on with you from Spain!!!! mange takk!!!!!!!!!!!

  • er stoltur íslendingur

  • hættið að rífast við þennan KhmerD0g þið gerið bara illt verra. það þýðir ekkert að kalla hann þessum ljótu nöfnum. honum finnst gaman þegar fólk kallar hann hálvita eða hommatitt . þið eruð bara að fóðra hann. don't feed the troll

  • Excuse me for being a bit rude in applying so directly to you but I must get answers to my doubts. Many people claim that Iceland is a stunning destination with unearthly landscapes not to be encountered anywhere in the world. However, when I look at photos taken of Icenadic views, I do not get the impression there is anything to boast of . Well, there is some undeniable beauty but I think there are other countries in the far east and Europe which far exceed Iceland by beauty. So what's therush.

  • @eliaviel1

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Pictures only convey part of the experience, so before you make a judgement or comparison, come and see for yourself. Then you can tell us whether you like it or not.

  • Það er bara sorglegt að skoða kommentin

  • and THIS is where i'm moving when i'm old enough! :D

  • Rosalega er leiðinlegt að skoða komment hérna.

  • @zordigo

    Þeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeegiðu

  • What a wonderful video of a noble country. God bless Iceland.

  • im from iceland proud and we are small band of peasants but strong hard working pepole and a small republic wich stands proud to the other bigger countrys of the world GUÐ BLESSI ÍSLAND :,)

  • @RGBRYN All true! A wonderful country with a pathology of independence and pride. How about being less like peasants and more like citizens of the world? The world WANTS you! Time to grow up and value connection over isolation.

  • ég vill að við skiptum þjóðsöngnum yfir í ísland er land þitt

    þetta er hryllilegt

  • @IWantMyMoneyBackNOW

Þegið þu drullu tussu mella þetta lag er fuckin legend DONT DISS THE HYMNE

  • @zubtebustas ekkert svona drjóla ógeð

  • @UrTheFakeOne I'm removing this comment becuase some of my best friends are middle eastern immigrants . It is so clean because we don't have filth like you here

  • @icefaxi Fine, be blind.

  • @UrTheFakeOne I'm not blind, I recognize there are assholes like you in each and every country in the world. :) Every country has their assholes and bad apples, you are proudly your own country's asshole. :) Just please, don't come to Iceland and fuck it up for the rest of us. Thanks friend. :)

  • Iceland- best coutry ever. I wish I was born in Akureyri.

  • @91Kubson yeah me too

  • @icefaxi yeah me too bollox to britain lol

  • @91Kubson Yes... just imagine! You could be unemployed, under-educated, and as arrogant as a teenager high on hormones! One of the world's most beautiful places....but lost somewhere in the 11th Century. Best to stay where you are. Oh, and there is a reason the world is not dotted with Icelandic restaurants.

  • @SolofTarsus5 Sure thats why the standard of living is so high, and it has the second highest GDP in the world....people in iceland are happy living their life, jealous guys like you are not wanted

  • @Felinestance Yes.... sooooo jealous of dysfunctional government, a dead economy, and exceptionally rude men. You are like an island of teenagers. An absolutely great place to visit... but....well, somewhere with cafe life, better weather, and civilised behaviours will do for the rest of us, thank you.

  • @SolofTarsus5 yeah because the American economy is doing soooo much better, and the government in the US is definitely not corrupt. Americans are also very smart and have really healthy population as well as the best and safest cities on Earth. Crime is almost non existant in the US. Iceland is basically like Afghanistan. (By the way, Happy Opposite Day!)

  • @icefaxi Icelandic people seem to blame everyone else and not take a look at yourselves. You were ALL greedy and uncritical when your banks were lying to you and the world. You were fine with the corruption of Oddsson and nobody bothered at all to check HOW the banks were making money. When your "democracy" demanded you be responsible for the government YOU elected, you decided that (as always) it was time to be arrogant and angry. No humility. No apology, No responsibility. How very Iceland!

  • @icefaxi and how is it our fault that investors in England lost on an investment? Why do we have to pay for their mistakes? And if thats the argument you choose, then you have a shit load to answer to on behalf of your "democractically" elected government. Where is those weapons of mass destruction? When does America apologize for its fuck ups? Where are the slavery reperations even? The people in Iceland are not responsible for IceSave just as the American people are not responsible for Iraq

  • @SolofTarsus5 First of all I'm not from Iceland, second, to be saying stuff like that about one of the highest developed countries in the world you probably have had your encounters with those "exceptionally rude men". Don't speak shit...disfuntional goverment wtf, broken economy? that was 3 years ago...along with the rest of europes economy

  • @Felinestance Odd how you seem to think all is well in Iceland. The education ministry has closed all classes except reading, maths, and history. No more art. No more music. The country is bleeding intellectual assets fast. The financial system is totally wrecked. Next to no foreign currency can leave the country for any reason. There is a CRISIS in Iceland that you seem totally in denial about. You clearly have some problems keeping in touch with the facts.

  • @SolofTarsus5

    lol.....

You have no idea what you are talking about. Why are you even commenting on this video? "The education ministry has closed all classes except reading, maths, and history." ....????

  • @91Kubson why Akureyri?

  • @Luiginnn because it's close to Grimsey Island. And it's one of the most magic towns on the earth. After finishing my study on the university in Wrocław (Poland), my dream is to live there and explore this magnificent island :)

  • Long live Iceland. I've got really good icelandic friends in London.

Korean luvs Iceland so much lol.. xxxxxx

  • @DisembowelMe No argument here. Keep in mind though that it's pretty old and was put together at a very different time-period.

  • i would like to go in iceland someday i hope i can go there!

i love iceland..iceland in my heart....

  • iceland is great country

  • Early september I visited you country. What a wonderfull experience it was. I finally found a country where I could find some peace and rest. In the Netherlands its hard to find nowadays. And further more..... I think I can say Iceland could be a place for me to live. I envy you Icelanders....with such a beautifull country!!!

  • @huisman1971 Then come join us xD

  • icefaxi Great photos! very impressive ! Thanks for sharing this.

  • Had some incredible and amazing northern lights in Keflavik this evening :)

  • How come everyone in your depraved nation is gay? Inbreeding?

  • @Trains2007 .. Haha, what? I hadn't noticed I wanted to fuck males.

  • @KhmerD0g You dont know anything about Iceland , Iceland Is just doing the same thing as England did to Holland , refused to pay ! so suck it England !

  • KhmerD0g farðu í rassgat.

  • @KhemerD0g STFU you just live in some godforsaken shithole with no national or natural pride. Grow up and get a life you asshole

  • iceland- the most breathtakeing nature i have ever seen. i can t wait to go there again. i wish i could live there. all the best for that nation! greetings from germany.

  • I sure do love Iceland

    Dóra Kolbeinsdóttir

  • @KhmerD0g I know this is 1 year old, but man, f.. u, you ignorant, narrow minded piece of shit.

  • @sunna90

how is iceland today? still bankrupt like last year. #LOL

  • @KhmerD0g We're gettin back up again. But Ive read your comments below and its obvious you have some kind of issues so lets just leave it at this ;) Just do yourself a favor and grow up - with that fuckin attidute and stupid thinking you aint going nowhere.

  • @sunna90

speaking of going nowhere. Iceland has gone nowhere. it is stuck in the cycle of bankruptcy, political loathing, crocked business dealing, inflation and populace uprising. it is a mess in frozen Iceland. and don't forget Iceland is a designated terrorist country. white trash terrorist land. hahahaaaaaaaa

  • @KhmerD0g lol - please, like I sayd, grow up. Arguing with a fool proves there are two - so im done ;)

  • @KhmerD0g I had read a wonderful quote today on another youtube video comment, I will like to share it: "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you are still retarded". :)

  • @icefaxi

but it is fun arguing. u just joined in. now does it make u feel good?

u want your channel to be boring like Iceland? #LOL

  • @KhmerD0g dont take your feeling out on iceland,

  • @ellenlitla

I have been bashing America, my country for a long time now. Why not Iceland? I already bashed England. China is next.

  • @KhmerD0g Your country is shitty Cambodia

  • @icefaxi

cambodia has been shitty since american bombed it. then pol pot made it worst. it was beyond ordinary cambodians to do anything about it. we didn't have democracy like Iceland where the people have something to say about it.

the Icelandic people voted Geir Haarde, Bjorgvin Sigurdsson, and Arni Mathiesen to office and they fucked up iceland. so it was the Icelandic people fault. they voted the criminals to office. i guess the Icelandic people wanted to bankrupt its own country.

  • @KhmerD0g They voted for them because they promised so many great things. Then they never fulfilled those promises and left the economy to die.

  • @binnulingur

u Icelandic people are so gullible. u believe everything the politicians say? that is stupid. didn't u learn anything from George Bush's lies about WMDs? politicians lie to get elected. they say the things the voters wanted to hear.

  • @KhmerD0g I just found out that you're from Cambodia. GTFO nigger.

  • @binnulingur

are u trying to call me asian nigger? you are a dumb one. did my name give the clue? Khmer means Cambodian. LOL

  • @KhmerD0g

    Shut up you cambodian bitch

  • @zubtebustas

the banksters, IMF and your politicians did a heck of a job of shutting up Iceland. hahahaaa. how is that for a bitchy frozen land you are living in? after 2 years Ice land is still and icebox, economically speaking #LOL

  • @KhmerD0g

Hahaha Iceland is not covered in ice only dumb people like you actually believe that shit.

And the money thing wasn't all our fault ofc mostly it was the politicians fault but that's not the peoples fault they didn't do shit to make this happen the media talks a whole lot of bullshit and dumb people like you believe all that dumb fuck

  • @zubtebustas

if it is not cover in ice why do Icelandic people call it iceland? it should be called Fraud-land. heh heh

  • @KhmerD0g

Green land is not green at all now greenland is all covered in ice now that is even a bigger scam

  • @KhmerD0g you are a real ass, you know that?

  • @icefaxi

i'm not an ass once u get to know me.

  • @KhmerD0g hahahaha we are frozen in an icebox? HAHA smart thing to say when knowing nothing about Iceland

  • @Jonseh1234

most of the time iceland is just cold, cold and more cold.

  • @KhmerD0g Are you by any chance retarded?

  • @threeeyedmonkeydodo

can retards type and surf the internet? who is the retard now?

  • @KhmerD0g Actually yes, they are quite capable of that. P.s. you're still the retard for thinking mentally disabled people can't surf the internet or type.

  • @threeeyedmonkeydodo

so u are calling a retard and yet retarded people capable of doing whatever normal people can. are u saying retarded people are equal to normal people? u sound pretty retarded.

  • @KhmerD0g No you retard i'm saying that pushing marked buttons is one of the easiest things in the world to do.

  • @threeeyedmonkeydodo

retard or not all types of people in Iceland will suffer from economic blunders their bankers and politicians made. how is Iceland today? i detect Libya like revolution is shimmering in Iceland. it will explode soon. there will be blood flowing in Rickavick. #LOL

  • @KhmerD0g Actually, everything is pretty calm here. Guess we just know how to act civilized. And it's Reykjavík, not rickavick retard.

  • @KhmerD0g Your dads condom failed dude :/

  • @AddiGuM

but Iceland's economy #FAIL even more.

  • @KhmerD0g Well we can fix that but there is no way you can fix your ugly piece of shit face :/

  • @AddiGuM I agree with you, afterall, Khmer and Cambodians are really ugly people too...

  • @AddiGuM

how are u going to fix your economy when you have no money to fix it? are u going to sell your country to the IMF? hahhaaa

Iceland is facing chicken or an egg problem

as for my face it is beautiful. u will fall in love with my face once u see it. #LOL u will be begging to have a baby with me.

you are an albino. all i see is your blood vessel, bone, muscle tissue, etc.

  • @KhmerD0g at least Iceland has an economy. I really feel like just deleting any comment relating to KhmerDog on here, he really deemed himself to have an asshole flag.

  • @icefaxi

u can delete my comments but can you delete the economic mess your Viking assholes did to your country? i would like to see that power of yours.

  • @KhmerD0g Okay, first of all, learn to spell correctly and second, you don't make any sense whatsoever in the points that you are trying to make. And finally Iceland is actually rebuilding the economy. Please make sure of what you are saying before trying to make assumptions about other people.

  • @orriMH

which word did i misspelled? how are u going to rebuild Iceland when the economy is a wrecked and full of debts? your country still owes England and Denmark a lot of money.

  • @KhmerD0g You say "u" and you do not use correct grammar, you don't even have capital letters when you type. And a country still can start rebuilding itself, even if it has lots of debt.

  • @KhmerD0g And also, I am Icelandic so I know much more about our situation then you do, so stop trying. And Stop being so ignorant.

  • @orriMH

so u are from Iceland. dead beat icelandic people. u need to pay up. England is calling out to you.

no, u don't know much about the dire situation in iceland. your politicians lie and u guys die. what ever happen to the Icelandic economic Tiger in early 2000s? i know, it was all an illusion. Icelandic blows jobs and bubbles, for examples, carry trade and speculation. how can 300,000 people take on debt that is at least 3 times its GDP.

  • @viktor2008

and you are an example? hahaaa

  • @KhmerD0g this comeback didn't make any sence at all 0_o

  • @viktor2008

u want me to cum on your back? that makes sense because u are gay just like icelandic economy.

  • @KhmerD0g do you srsly have nothing better to do then arguing with people on youtube

  • @viktor2008

no. i'm an unemployed Icelandic person. i got layoff at the height of the financial crisis in 2008 when Iceland went belly up. i couldn't find a job since, just like so many of my fellow Icelandic friends. lol

  • @KhmerD0g LOL

  • @KhmerD0g

It seems you have been criticizing Iceland a lot these last few years. That must have taken quite some effort if I may say so. Don't you think it's time to leave the Icelanders alone? Why not bash another country? You know what....... maybe you can bash my country for a change. I'm from the Netherlands. I'm pretty sure there's plenty to bitch about us!! I'm really looking forward to your comments! :-)

  • @huisman1971

ok. i will bash your never-everlands, the land of the street prostitutes. give me some time to find a good video of HO-LLand to comment on. are u from the Rottendamn city? i bet u are because your entire family grew up there. #LOL

  • @KhmerD0g

    sorry to hear that

hopefully you will get your life back on track

blessings to you and the people of Iceland

  • @icefaxi God bless Iceland. Gott schütze Island. Best best place on Earth.

  • @icefaxi I don't really care about my channel, my intentions for posting this video was to help Icelanders get pride in their country and what we have to offer. All the photos I took myself, so I figured I'd throw them in. Honestly, if a person has something bad to say about someone's country and their intentions are to offend them, then I feel sorry for that person because that means you have a small and damaged heart. I pray for you my friend.

  • you guys were very smart in saying no to EU, i hope it helps i really do. now you guys should leave NATO you guys dont need to work with war criminals. Iceland is a peaceful nation.

  • Today is the 66th anniversary of the Republic of Iceland!

  • #Iceland_Pride

  • This is the worlds most beautiful national anthem, i've never really felt it until now how amazing it is to be from Iceland and how lucky i am, im moving back home to Iceland in 2 months from Norway.

And i do not agree with my fellow Icelanders that "Ísland er land þitt" should be our anthem

  • @Raggi86 ... I am moving back to iceland from Denmark in 2 months as well 0.o

    Áfram Ísland!

  • @robloxguggi i live in denmark. god damn i hate it here. and yes im icelandic :P

  • @in10forever You can't see ANYTHING from all those trees. And goddamn those danes are racists

  • our anthem is beautiful! I'm visiting Iceland this summer and can't wait :-)

  • most bautyful anthem i ever heard

  • @barri39 beautiful

  • Ísland er best! Ég heyrði að við gætum orðið hluti af Noregi. Er það satt?

  • Nei, sjálfstæði Íslands er aldrei að enda. Íslendingarnir voru farnir úr Noregi, þeir eru ekki að fara aftur til Noregs, eða að vera hluti af Noregi. :3

  • BEAUTIFULLY SUNG.

  • Long live Iceland

  • þetta er flott lag en mér finnst að Ísland er land þitt ætti að vera þjóðsöngurinn.. meiri barátta í því einhvernig.

  • ég myndi frekar vilja hafa þennan hann er miklu flottari

  • ég elska island og Gud blessi Island.

    Kveðja frá Þýskalandi :)

  • @Kgoulis89 me too :o)

  • when i was in iceland our guide told me that it is close to german she lives in Iceland and is from Swisserland and spoke English Very well

  • @CK2012 Depends on what you call 'close' :p I can assure you, it doesn't sound close! :p I speak German, and I can't understand a thing :) Although they do have the same ancestor, Indo-Germanic, so in that way they are linked more closely than, say, Icelandic and Chinese :) But still, Icelandic is far more close to Norse, since it originated when colonists from Southwest-Norway settled in Iceland :)

  • @ImaginaryNightshade i'm from slovakia, i speak both german and english and for me it's far easier to read otherm germanic languages than to listen them. it's more understandable for me (at least for me). for example - i don't get a word of danish, but when it's written i've got a good idea what's the text about.

  • @vitacit Yes, it's indeed easier to understand another Germanic language when it's written than when it's spoken, because prounciation changed far more often than spelling. My native language is Dutch, and for Dutch people it's quite easy to understand written German, but most people don't understand a word of it when hearing someone speak German. (It doesn't really count for me because I study German but still :p) I know what you mean! :)
