If actors want to give up their lucrative so-called day jobs and run for office because they feel passionate about politics, that is one thing. But to abuse their access to the media so they can undermine legitimate candidates, just because they've got a personal beef, is plain wrong.

You've got a good point Zaphrod. However Limbaugh is a nationally syndicated talk radio personality, and that's all he does. He is paid to comment on stuff. He is not an actor using the media to promote a personal opinion. We are agreed though, what makes America great is we can all speak our minds. And when it comes to actors trying to influence politics, I like to speak my mind on that also.

Rush, while he was doing this nationally syndicated talk show host, took a job as an football analyst, I believe on ESPN. There he took the opportunity to push his social agenda. It seems to me that many who criticize famous people who speak their minds, do so based only on that persons position, and instead of arguing against the position.

It is simply easier to tell them to shut up and sing, or act or whatever. In my opinion, I would take the word of a person speaking their own minds over the opinion of someone paid to take a political position. There is a name for those people, shills. You have every right to speak out against someones point of view, I just wish you would make an argument and not simply ignore them for their choice of living, or the media's willingness to cover their opinion. I agree, Limbaugh has been way out of line. I guess the media in general is part of the problem in America. News, for example, is reported far differently in other countries. The US media has become very slanted and "infotainment" focused. Still, I am really sick of celebrities stirring the pot. I mean, what do they know abouot anything? And Sean Penn, he says we should all send Bush to jail, but wasn't it Penn himself who was actually IN jail?
