the first and second Way of the samurai games are among my most favorite games :3 This series did alot more for saming then most realize and its a massive shame that the third game (not counting Samurai western) drop the ball and probaby killed the series for good.

That would be Kitcho... the big dude at the 2:08 to 2:10's son. In the game your options are to side with either or random third parties but to get the ultimate ending you have to side with Kitcho's father and act like a dick to everybody until the end and take Kitcho's side and get the true ending.
um i had this game, and its because a big battle is supposed to happen 2 days from then. either way the games great cause there are a crapload of endings. and alot of other things you can do. so the days in it didn't really bother me. i went sad after a while went missing in my house years back *sighs*. I plan on getting 3 though. U should too.
Way of the Samurai 3 got such a horrible rating because all the graphic whores wanted to compare it to Uncharted. That's such bullshit. In order to appreciate it, you have to compare it to the previous installments as to how much its progressed. And I think they did a damn good job with Way of the Samurai 3. But for you to properly understand this series, you have to understand the culture of Japan in the Feudal era, and the lives of those who followed the ways of Bushido.
It breaks my heart. Because Way of the Samurai 1,2 and 3 are such amazing successes. I've had way of the samurai 1 for over 6 years. I bought Way of the Samurai 3 last month at EB games and I haven't put it down since. MY GOD I LOVE THIS GAME! And the best part about it is that you can play as the main character from the very first Way of the Samurai!
It's better than Onimusha in every way. It's under-appreciated just like Tenchu Z. And in my view, it's far better than Ninja Gaiden!

if you know "Way of the Samurai", you got to play "Samurai - Western"! i guess one of the hero you can play is the leader of the Kuro-family -- master Tesshin, because if you defeat the end-boss in "Samurai Western" you'll get Tesshin's katana the "Dai-Kuronama"

Dude, you should get Way of the Samurai 3. I've had it for over 4 weeks. It's amazing, I love the plot and the game play is simply phenomenal!!! Also the graphics have sharply improved from what they were in the first game 10 fold. Go ahead and pic it up at game stop or online. Because it's well worth it if you love the Way of the Samurai series.

Dude I liked the 1st better than the 2nd one. 2nd takes to freakin long to load, and having to put your sword in a safe after ur inventory is full which so inconvenient. I heard they gonna make this game on psp also; hope it will be in stores soon.

I agree, it was a completely underrated game, and something that had never been done before. With the superior engines in the newer consoles, it would be a shame to let this series go without a third. Let's just hope it doesn't go down the same way as the kengo series....the 360 game is awful.

I agree that the game was underrated. I like the swordplay and branching storyline. There were some glaring flaws like limited exploration and an unforgiving save system, but not enough to ruin the experience.
Honestly There are parts of Kengo I like and parts of Way of the Samurai I like. The various blades and special moves always are nice in Way of the Samurai but I like how you can switch stances in Kengo. Also I love the storyline in the Way of the Samurai series. It was very poetic unlike Kengo.

This game is so fucking fun, I loved standing on those towers in that zone by the river and doing that baseball bat swing move to all the dumbasses that climb up after me. And this is deff one of the few games ive played that has a soul, it does a great job at conveying its message. All other WotS games after this are crap by commparison.
The first way of the samurai was well done. The 2nd wasn't all that great because it just seemed to corny from the first and plus the endings didn't seem as epic and interesting as the 1st ones were. I really hope they don't put voices in the the 3rd.
This game is fxxxing hillarious.. It's GTA in ancient Japan, you can get a blacksmith to fix your stuff, then kill him instead of paying him, then you can steal his weapon and use it to beat down an innocent girl and her paralyzed grandpa in her house.
Very underrated game. It has a lot of RPG elements to it. Great gameplay. and you get to throw a baby if you so choose.

This is just one of many reasons why I still play my PS2 instead of my PS3, games that are underrated....it's an awesome game.
Just think of a remake...but nothing as drastic as Ninja Gaiden or Tenchu

Unlike Way of the Samurai 2, they took Way of the Samurai 3 back to how great it was in the first game. It's for the PS3!
You won't be disappointed with WOTS3. If you love the first game, than be prepared, because Way of the Samurai 3 will be your new crack!

The 2nd WOTS was good but I prefer the 1st. The surroundings felt more alive such that you didn't have to be around for the story to progress.

This is still one of my favorite games. The sequel is, as well. And I love the opening song. Glad I finally found a site with the song file on it.

downloads (Dot) khinsider (Dot) com Songs are split into alphabetical order by game, so just go to the W section for Way of the Samurai. This song is called "The Shore" and should be the first one on the list.

I have to say i'm still hooked on this game, i love developing every sword i own, the game is so indepth. And if i could as a fav. if anyone knoews how i can get my hands on this song i would be forever greatful

This game is so fucking fun, I loved standing on those towers in that zone by the river and doing that baseball bat swing move to all the dumbasses that climb up after me. And this is deff one of the few games ive played that has a soul, it does a great job at conveying its message. All other WotS games after this are crap by commparison.

The first way of the samurai was well done. The 2nd wasn't all that great because it just seemed to corny from the first and plus the endings didn't seem as epic and interesting as the 1st ones were. I really hope they don't put voices in the the 3rd.

This game is fxxxing hillarious.. It's GTA in ancient Japan, you can get a blacksmith to fix your stuff, then kill him instead of paying him, then you can steal his weapon and use it to beat down an innocent girl and her paralyzed grandpa in her house.

I love this game! I used to play this and two all the time. Samurai Western was alright, I didn't get into it like the first two.
