By the way, may already know this, or may not be relevant, but if you want to see the original Japanese version sit at the title screen a while and the opening replays in Japanese.
In my opinion, TotA is the better story/character game, whereas Vesperia is just kick-ass and wicked fun to fight in. You really have to work with and pay attention to how your characters grow, building skill repetitiveness and stuff. Most of TotA's stronger spells like Indignation are only available on the second-playthrough.
Abyss = Story, Vesperia = Battle System. Pick your poison.
@Sunruner Remember that there is the PS3 version of Vesperia which imo is the best of the series with everything they added and they upgraded the story to fit the addition of the two characters
i am stuck between ps2 and xbox 360, i was planning buy one of those game consle, ps2 have a TON good rpg games incudle tales of the abyss, however xbox 360 have best graphic and good rpg games, i also want tales of vespeira, so plz help me make decision buying ps2 or xbox 360 XD. Note: i have wii, so i kindly sorta want have other game consle, so...what's ur suggest?
if you want to buy xbox 360 just for this game... i suggest not. if you like shooter games and xbox live playing... then xbox 360 is for you. cuz there arent many great games for it. ps2 has bunches of good games. plus if you havent played tales of symphonia yet... then you should get ps2 so you can play both. i think TOS is better than vesperia.
you should just buy both, you can get a ps2 for about £10 these days or $20 dollars or 1500 yen depending what country your in. tales of vesperia is class and dont forget square enix are releasing ffxiii for the xbox360. theres a few rpgs for the xbox anyways which you could pick up cheap like infinite undiscovery and the last remnant. blah
I'm not about to go buy an xbox just to buy this game... I NEED IT FOR PS3!! They're coming out with it, but the USA release date isn't even known yet...

well, i am unsure about ps3, there some ps2 game don't work on ps3. and we probably won't see tales of vespire ps3 in english.
