  • Wow, a lot of hate and anger in the comments. Apparently that leads to the dark side. :(

  • hm. i've always thought he was overrated.

  • Everyone knows Andy Warhol never "painted" anything.

  • @Blavat666 I think you need to look in the mirror because everything you just listed describes you.

  • "Are you ready to paint me?" Oh Debbie... ♥

  • Art is whatever the hell the INDIVIDUAL wants it to be. Art is not what some primp asshat with millions of dollars "approves" art to be with his/her purchase of it. Would be nice for some moron to pay me millions to do what everyone on the planet can also do. And there is nothing wrong with making money of of those with more money than they will ever need. But still.. lets pull our collective heads out of our collective asses shall we? All art is over rated. Plain and simple fact.

  • This was when the art apocalypse happened. Everything is shit now.

  • @Ievolovel Yeah everything is shit now like all the shitty graphic design and packaging on people's full box sets. man can't forget about the mixed media artist they suck big time. they suck so bad that they inspire no one. art isn't just stuff from the 80's and it isn't just paintings idiot. open your eyes maybe you'll learn something.

  • @projectpeach262 You really are just looking at the shimmering surface presented to you. He literally wanted to be a "machine" feel no emotion or anything for that matter period.

That is what art is suppose to do... rise emotion from the artist... soooo all I can see is blatant genocide of a once creative process.

Sure, continue with your mass media production with no actual uniqueness to it.

And art isn't from the 80s ... art is since the first cave drawings... now it is nothing special.

  • @Ievolovel If you really believe that you know absolutely nothing about art.

  • @ metronomic

Many artists that made it to commercial success like Warhol DID have talent, but squandered it away with laziness and so-called aesthetic insight.

  • Andy did everything. He died too

  • I think he's just anxious to get his money...

  • As an artist myself, I find Andy Warhol a genius in making himself famous for art that anyone can do. I could take the same picture of Debra Harry and do the same thing in Photoshop. Andy Warhol was great at being Andy Warhol. His art was simply an extension of himself - simple and colorful.

  • @inhisgrace007 I doubt you could make art exactly like hime. Screen printing is harder than you think and to get the exact same lines and cut as he did is a challenge. Also the hardest part is generating an image new and innovative when everything else is boring and the same

  • @inhisgrace007 I agree, as an artist myself. And Warhol is my all time favorite artist. The man is a genius,

  • its art. stfu

  • It's interesting when people get so upset by Warhol and his work and try to discount it when they are nobodies and he made an indelible mark not only on the art world but society at large. Andy Warhol in many ways was and is the 20th century. He captured a specific series of moments in time that can never be recreated and that is so much more than any of you will do with your lives. So much more.

  • I love it when people talk about the "artisitic process". ....I have a huge smug smile.

  • @trex65ghia Why is that? Enlighten us.

  • @metronomic1 i wouldn't presume to enlighten you....Mr metronomic.

  • @Blavat666 This coming from someone with fucking Dio videos on his profile. Yeah, real class. You arent even remotely qualified to critique anyone's art. Douche bag.

  • Heres the name of the Andy Warhol factory member that is not credited. SUPERDUDE

Superdude is still alive and playing music at nearly 70. He is the person standing right behind Andy in the photo on sonicbids.

It would be nice for him to get some recognition.

    Youtube channel: jp1234productions

    sonicbids url: Superdude

  • Andy was God.

  • I'm not going to say he wasn't a genious,on the contrary, thinking about what he made,he was,as he showed what society is right now.But i think there's no comparison between Warhol and Caravaggio, Leonardo or Canova. They give you emotions that maybe are not contemporary but they make you feel surprised thinking about what a man could make. When i look at Warhol's works i rather feel disgusted, as i see all the boredom of the nowadays society, which doesn't contain any message or beauty.

  • If Andy used the internet today, he probably wouldn't be able to get pass the Google logo. "Wow, would you look at that. Must print 20x20 screens of this."

  • Windows 7 MS paint still isn't as good as Deluxe Paint IV on Amiga, You cant make shaded objects or set a range and fill with it or pick up an image and use as a brush,

    Simple things but very useful.

  • @Blavat666 Only a fool would deny the excellent creation of Mr. Warhol. Didn't you even know that he's counted as on of the great artists ever?

  • Andy would do almost anything for a buck.

I think he always had the "last laugh."

  • Andy was not an artist, he was art inside of a human body.

  • @Indigo656 Thats right!

  • That's it?

  • I'd much rather listen to debbie harry's beautiful voice than see a computer generated schema of her made by andy warhol...

  • Amiga and C64 the only computer with a soul inside

  • @ematech If a new true Amiga was bought on the shelf with the technology know how of today but as advanced in its time as it was back in the day but for now well I'd throw all Apples and PCs out the window. I crave for that time when computer is free from so much control of those two brethren Teutonic Knights pretending to us we have a choice when we DO NOT! Its time for a true Commodore to come back not PC hashes we want new chipsets everything back I'm tried of PC junk.

  • @anunnaki2006 So get a Mac

  • @metronomic1 Why would I want a bleeding Mac for when its overhyped like all new computers that at one time couldn't come close to the Amiga? Also I don't appreciate the tracking and monitoring that Apple's tied into with the National Security Agency just as much as Microsoft and remembering both Steve Jobs and William gates are both brethren in the Teutonic Knight order.

  • @anunnaki2006 Paranoia will kill you.

  • @ematech Funny... the Amiga had the soul of the Atari 800. Jay Miner.

  • andrewsgallery.webs.com

    Cool website!!!

  • I can paint with poo!

  • @schtolteheim "...photographically lifelike images..." LOL! They looked like they were ripped from children's coloring book! XD

  • Andy Warhol, a young Debbie Harry, and an Amiga.

All alive at the same time.

  • @screwyou young? She is forty there! And oh man how does she look!!!

  • I heard Andy Warhol had Asperger's Syndrome!!

  • @cool71588 i have no doubt...

  • Per Andy Warhol, "Art is what you can get away with"

  • great.

    ANDREA SANA.com

  • @REALCougarsRmales - Lol, what planet are you living on? I can buy 3 brand new pcs with 22" monitors for less than one second hand A4000T PPC!

Meanwhile a two year old pc is worth roughly the same amount as a packet of crisps. :)

  • Wow, imagine what he could do with Photoshop now.

  • This was the time wondows PCs made beep beep and hat green monocrome monitors.

  • THOSE were the best computers. I wonder why Amiga didn't continue to make more models.

  • @Sephiroz97 - because, while Microsoft could not make a decent OS of their lives depended on it, Bill Gates was a hell of a salesman, and people are naturally stupid, so the technically primitive PC running Windows became the industry standard. The rest is history.

Shame really, we could all be using state of the art elegantly designed systems now.... instead of pcs. :(

  • @JasperAbraxxious Actually we have the middle managers of Corporate America to blame for putting the PC on the desktop. Stupid/ignoramous lemmings following each other off the MS/IBM cliff. Anyone ever try to use Windows 1.0? That junk would've bankrupted most companies had they actually tried to make any money with it. It amazes me how a company like MS was able to make any money off the garbage they peddled.

If it wasn't for them, though, we'd all have Mac's...PLEASE!? LOL

  • Wow. Now that's an impressive computer demonstration. I don't think even Steve Jobs has topped this.

  • i like andy's voice

  • Open up MS paint, make a stick figure, fill in the head with a blue.

OMG ITS BETTER THAN THE MONA LISA!

  • When people say that Warhol's work was simple or that he was untalented it makes me laugh because they lack any understanding of what his art was about. Warhol could draw and paint photographically lifelike images and did when he was in art school but he progressed beyond that. He wanted to explore the interaction of voyeur and exhibitionist that happens in the artistic process. You must know the rules before you smash them.

  • @schtolteheim You have a pathetic sad little life. Kill yourself.

  • @schtolteheim You have some mental problems dude. You better up your dose.

  • @metronomic1 drawing or painting a photographic image is nothing to brag about...

  • @NotNamedJones You missed the point entirely. Learn to read and comprehend.

  • @metronomic1 He did not even make most of his art or was even present when his movies were being made, he had "assistants" do it all while he was out shopping. Look for interviews of people in his movies and see what they say when asked what it was like working with him. They say he wasn't there, haha. I have also never seen these "photographically" lifelike images, they must keep them under tight wraps hmm?

  • @johnlovesbridge The point has gone way over your head.

  • @metronomic1 Okay,...sure, okay......

  • @metronomic1 "When people say that Warhol's work was simple or that he was untalented it makes me laugh because they lack any understanding of what his art was about. "

It's the puffery and self importance of admirers that annoy me most. Art is only tied to the artist, If Jackson Pollock "painted" a canvas, he's an artist, if I slop paint on a canvas, it's just a mess.

You'll "appreciate" one, and not the other. The reality is you're told what "you like", and you obey like robots.

  • @fuzzywzhe You lack any real understanding of the artistic process or indeed art in general. Run along.

  • @metronomic1 "You lack any real understanding of the artistic process or indeed art in general. Run along."

Oh please. Any snob can spout bullshit. I've listened to Jeff Koons do it for years. He's so full of shit, most people are especially when they have been suckered by frauds are are in on the fraud.

The only think I appreciate in the art world today are the Stuckists, they crack me up. The art world today is about as respectable as our financial system is. It's just a bunch of fraud.

  • @fuzzywzhe dumb ass

  • @metronomic1 "dumb ass"

It would be interesting to see a substantive comment, rather than mindless insults.

I'm accused of not knowing anything about art for example. That's ironic. The reality is, that most people are just morons that think they know something about art. It's a club of idiots led by morons mostly and they are all certain about being correct, because some idiot like Paul Myners says it is, and as mindless drones, you just emptily agree.

  • @fuzzywzhe After looking at your profile and seeing that all of your comments are people hating you for trolling I understand why you are so pathetic. Kick rocks.

  • @metronomic1 "After looking at your profile and seeing that all of your comments are people hating you for trolling"

Yeah, criticize Israel, you're a "troll", or an anti-Semite, or a self hating Jew, or a Mooslim, or something. Not a person.

  • @fuzzywzhe Thats all you got? Dumb fuck.

  • @metronomic1 bullshit......

  • @trex65ghia You are certainly entitled to your opinion, no matter how irrelevant it is.

  • @metronomic1 irrelevant indeed. Thank you for the reply.

  • @metronomic1 my ass

  • Andy is great, but who is Leonardo Dooderman? who knows?

  • 1985 was a great year for computer artists.

  • how hot is debbie harry?

  • I always recall an art piece Andy did in 1979 - that got sixth placing that year at LeMans...

  • i cant wait for computer software to advance so that i can use that program he was using :D

  • Andy reminds me so much of John Denver here.

  • guru meditation anyone? Usually brought the whole system down. To say they hardly ever crashed was rediculous. To be honest I can't remember the last time I had to reboot my windows box..My linux boxes yes..

  • @kimosaaaabe Last time I had to reboot my Windows box was..er.. Patch Tuesday.. It happens all the time, you are just so used to it, you don't notice. ;-)

  • @kimosaaaabe Are you crazy Windows crashed much more than the Amiga ever did. Also the Amiga's OS suffered no decay over time while Windows is the absolute worst for that.

  • @kimosaaaabe Are you serious? 25 years later, Microsoft windows is more stable than the amiga! HOORAY FOR THAT!

  • @maxideia - weird - my Windoze 7 machine needs a reboot far more than any of my Amigas.... or Mac for that matter...

  • Andy Warhol would probably die of amazement if he saw any YouTube Poop.

  • the people in that audience were the biggest bunch of sycophants ever

  • If i had that computer back in the day, i would paint a picture of some butts and stare at them

  • Being able to see this is what makes the internet so freakin' fabulous!!

  • warhol was a shameless manipulator and sell-out

  • .....people hanging on Andy's every word.....Andy could have said "beans" and the audience would have applauded.

  • @KiCreativeStudios That's what he set out to do, though. Indirect exposure of social behavior was sort of the point of 'Andy Warhol'.

  • @KiCreativeStudios | only the ones who don't understand him and would suck his dick just to get their name in a paper or wotnot..

  • he didn't paint her - he just messed about with a scan of her face. Juast saying cos i like all involved, including the hardware :)

  • @nickd3000 Well, yeah- t's just like his paintings. They were all based on screen prints (he was more a printmaker & sometime illustrator than a painter).

  • I wonder what he would think of Adobe Illustrator

  • @Maarttttt i think he may have liked it maybe

  • Prepare for the rebirth of the Amiga!!

  • Reassigned to a desk job for a Glaswegian jade mulching plant whose sole philanthropic impulse was the act of retrofitting mechanical bulls for the gardening activities of the infirm, Guinevere took to posing for velvet paintings of Mexican boys in donkey carts pulled by Elvis Presley - who looked none the worse for wear since those "King of Madison Avenue" aftershocks.

  • @RicothePsycho

    Radishing!

  • The Amiga was way ahead of it's time.

  • Superb, historical, both him and her but also the computer.

  • comparing it with todays technology it's like loading a picture in MSpaint and messing it up with flood fill. LMAO

  • I have an Andy Warhol original on my 3.5 inch floppy, 7 inch hard. It would be painful to part with it but I'd be willing to for $26million ;b

  • i bet most blokes would have a liked to give her a pearl neckless

  • Classic! Guess Steve Jobs missed out on that opportunity.

  • So He Made Paint ? lol

  • Imagine If He Was Still Alive!

Im Sure Lady GaGa Would Have Been His Muse!

    <3

  • @jairogaga no he would be in his 80s and livind in reclusion

  • That's what he is well known artis for?! FUCK!

  • if i am not wrong this is Amiga 1000. i am guessing this video is in 1985 or 1986, Amiga 1000 produced to public in 1985 and some preview models spread (not sold) in 1984 as a test standard. Andy Warhol died at the beginning of 1987. This Amiga was the first colorful true computer placed in our houses (4096 colors Ham mode) that time all pcs and macs were grey colors,

  • @BLOODYCLQ

This was Summer of 1985, at the Lincoln Center if I'm not mistaken.

Macs were not greyscale then, only B&W.

  • haha this program looks like a cheap version of microsoft paint!

I cant imagine what andy could have done with a program like photoshop..

  • @Klumpmeister A cheap version of MS Paint? Never, this is much more advanced than Paint. It was the state of the art program from the 90s.

  • @pokerockmario123 80s even. 1985 to be precise! The Amiga was waaaay ahead of its time. Respect to Jay Miner, RJ Mical and Dave Haynie (incidentally check out the latter's video "Last day at Commodore" on YouTube ( code: NRI7hHwiRxk ).

  • @Klumpmeister

Eyeroll. This was in 1985. The program is far more powerful than MSpaint.

  • @Klumpmeister When this demo took place in July 1985, MS Paint or even Windoze, HADN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED!

  • This is some pretty historic footage.

  • I have no idea about "art".....but i'm just fascinated by Andy Warhol himself....good or bad.....he was just one of a kind

  • yeah his work still holds no value to me. we're not living in the stone age anymore. i'm sure what he did was great, but there are way more REAL talented artists out there who should have been recognized. Other than this over rated so called "painter".

  • @kipperoncrack Did you forget that he didn't just work on a computer? He worked with many different mediums. So, what is stone age to you? Because if this is old, then almost every other medium would be also be in the "stone age."

  • 2 years before he died. i guess he didn't get to do too many computer portraits

  • ahaha...why don't I get news coverage when I play around with MS paint? XD

  • @DanBlabbers Just like you don't get any credit for flying over the Atlantic in a jet liner whlist Charles Lindbergh was immortalized for his first transatlantic flight.

  • @martijnjanssen1967 Haha, I like this

  • For those that are criticizing

    :

Show me a 1985 Mac or PC that could do the same thing (i.e. 4000 colors overlaid with near-CD quality music). tt didn't exist. The Amiga was ten years ahead.

  • @harleykman

    So bloody right mate!

I have been a loyal Amiga devotee since 1990! :-)

Too bad Commodore never knew how to take advantage of this wonderful machine...

  • Huge Andy and Debbie fan, who cares whether he cashed in, his art still looks great today and it's FUN people. Debbie is just iconic and loving that dress girlfriend!

  • wtf? THIS is Andy Warhol? All he did was click a couple times on a mouse, and he was an artist?? pfffttt come on!!

  • @kipperoncrack pfffttt and yet he is the one that made money off of doing this and lamebrains like you couldn't figure it out.

  • @got2many Shit photoshop will kick this guys ass! My name is Henry, and windows 7 was my idea.

  • @kipperoncrack hmm...never heard of henry but yet millions of people have heard of andy warhol.

    don't hate ..just appreciate

  • @kipperoncrack Photoshop wasn't even made for Windows to begin with. It was developed and released exclusively for the Apple computer, wasn't made for Windows until 1993. Also, Photoshop 1.0 was only released in 1990 and didn't use color. NOW tell me that this program, released years before PS 1.0, wasn't way ahead of its time!

  • @DaemonJaegerin When this was filmed I was using a progran from ATT called Truevision which was color and for Apple. Used to have a video camera hooked up to computer to save things like a scanner, People, Photos, Art, anything! Since I had a degree in Art, Photography and worked with Silk Screening. It was nice to see Andy Doing the same, and he never passing up an idea with the guys that hung out at the factory.

    Thanks Sir David

  • @kipperoncrack Alright Picasso, let's see some of your masterpieces...

  • Comment removed

  • @kipperoncrack This was one of the first times he used a computer and the first time he used a computer with decent graphics (back then all Macs were still black and white). He used more traditional methods for most of his working life and died 2 years later after this video was shot.

  • @kipperoncrack oh man, you simple minded fool

  • Two of the greatest people that ever walked the face of this planet!

  • Debbie gives me good vibes. Great post, thanks for the Video. I dreamed of getting an Amiga and a Yamaha DX-7 in 1985. Sad it never happened. :(

  • Some people think they need to buy Photoshop and graphics tablet right away. And they still suck.

Andy Warhol sits in front of an Amiga and starts flood-filling with mouse. And he rules, as usual.

  • Amiga rulezzzz , the only choice for true artist

  • Hope this gets you through Wednesday....fashion meeting technology in the early 80s.

  • mmm, what would Andy do with an Ipad, it would be interesting to see what he could do in Brushes application.

  • Old people using computers!!!

  • @laoninja123 As if you won't age. LOL!

  • I love the people laughing when Andy's being serious.

  • needs more granite.

  • Andy was into repoducable art (the Factory) in a successful attempt to make "high art" usually reserved for gallaries into commercial or "low art". Andy had a spectacular career as a commercial artist long before he was recognized as a fine artist. He blurred a lot of destinctions. In the same way Kieth Haring made commercial art into gallery art.

  • I dont think he realy understands why the people are laughing?? neither do I. Lol?

    He was sooooooooo great!!!! <3

  • I purchased a Warhol litho of Elizabeth Taylor. Striking result but define artist. He once said art is anything you can get away with...what a showman.

  • Amiga is an apple I wasnt even born tthan!!!

  • He owed me $25 ... Robert Barto, Publisher IMPACT Magazine (circa 1980).

  • @RobertBarto

    Who owed you $25.00?

  • Amiga is Art , a legend !

  • cool

  • god Debbi is so sexy

  • I read that the software/hardware engineers were all antsy/freaking out because the software was so buggy.

It was really cool how Warhol didn't give his "I'm too hip for this" demeanor.

I think Warhol saw this as the future and wanted to be a part of it.

    Damn, I miss the guy.

  • Andy would have loved the technology of computers in the last 23 years. Especially Apple. He would have been a big Apple freak and would have probably worked with them.

  • hahaha you like apple?

  • Only AMIGA makes it possible! ;-)

  • This is such a cool clip. It was directed by Vern Oakley, who made the film "A Modern Affair" with Stanley Tucci and Lisa Eichhorn.

  • andy warhol was an enigma. very interesting man.

  • I would recommend Atari ST to him... You know, less colors, lower resolution... More minimalistic. Should me mo
