are you starting out in like 2nd gear and shifting it like a car???
Cause it will slip if you aren't.

Is that a hydro trans? Hydros arent good for modding- if y put too much pressure in a hydro trans itll blow up.
The rule of thumb is larger motor pulley, and no smaller then 3" on the back, plus in a manual trans y need to add heavy gear oil .
Id say the hydro needs fluid or the belts slipping- i have a hydro murray, ran great after i changed the belt.

it jerks when i drive so i think is the belt
Try the belt first.
If its a hydro- ditch that trans and get a peerless- the kind with lower input and side output gear- then y can run a 1" axle- use pillow block berings ( northern tools has em) and adapters to put a couple golf kart rims on it.
Dont forget decent brakes or a helmit.
