I dont know why the show was canceled. Although it wasnt popular, it had a dedicated following. With another couple seasons to gain viewers plus some advertisement (which I saw very little at the time it was on), it could have replaced fear-factor imo....

I've wondered that myself. About the spiders and cockroaches, too, because while they are just insects, some people do keep them as pets and they'd be even more fragile than the snakes. I wonder if contestants have to sign agreements not to hurt the animals before they compete? I notice we never see anyone, say, stomping on the tarantulas(although, granted, they might be doing that off-camera, I don't think it'd be allowed).
