It is because of this project that I have managed to make four Canadian friends via my awesome knowledge of Canda :) Also, unfortunately for you, Quebec, said friends and I have all agreed that you would be the first one to go if we were to make British the universal language/accent. Which we will.

And once again, your response already proved again and again that France is associated with being a pervert and sexuality in the fandom. Its undeniable that Hetalia has a hand in encouraging that. That's all I wanted to point out.

The reason why I asked the question was to clarify the song lyric because it didn’t make sense to me, logically. I didn’t mean to perverse the relationship between the two, but that is how my comment was perceived.
Strange, I though Canada was her "father" figure since he actually interact and more involved with her than France, but I'm unsure how much France influence Canada during modern times. I know the scope of France influenced on Canada in the foundation, but my knowledge on modern times is weak.
It is being more socially accepted discuss sex, but the whole "Weenier scandal" demonstrates that Americans are still critical of those type of scandals. Yes, American shows act like a 5th grader when it comes to jokes like those because it is not as accepted, but I don't care. I understand why this country acts a certain way, but I don't care.
This was absolutely adorable. I almost missed the Anime North IAmMatthewian panel (as it was, I didn't get to go to the opening cermonies), but I managed to make it for Saturday, and it was worth running around with no way of communicating with my group just to see this video! If it is at all possible, please return to Anime North next year!

i was at Anime North this year and went to the iammathewian panel! It was amazing! Definitely one of the highlights of the weekend for me. I loved the idea for the Canada trivia game. I don't think I have ever seen a ball move so fast through a group of people! The opening was great, they all were. You guys rock! But some folks need to figure out how to go into the Sound Recorder options and set the quality higher than Telephone (preferably CD Quality) when they record their lines... I can't understand Russia or many of the others. :( It must have been even tougher for the audience at the convention.
In case they really don't know how... Before recording ANYTHING, in Sound Recorder, click on File, then Properties.
There's a pulldown menu under "Format Conversion". Select "Recording formats", then click "Convert Now"
You'll get several pulldown menus. Select "CD Quality". You can either keep that, or you can alter the specs yourself (recommend 44.100 kHz, 16 bit Stereo, 172 kb/sec). Click OK on both menus to close them. The setting will now stay crystal clear for all future recordings.
@xZaCloudx And to go a step further, if possible, turn off the computer speakers while recording, then turn them back on to listen to the lines when you're done. It does wonders to reduce echoing and make things sound extra crisp. :3

Canada is technically a collection of "mini-countries/ex-colonies of British North America" that created a confederation together to avoid being absorbed by the United States. Most of Canada's Provinces and Territories were already around before the creation of the Canadian Confederation. New Brunswick is one of the original four, part of what was formerly the French colony Acadia and the only officially bilingual province in Canada.

And I'm not "judging" you, antiloqax, its an observation I've been noticing in Hetalia (and fandom in general), how fans tend to sexualize characters. I did find it annoying that people jump into innuendos immediately with characters not intended to be sexual. And once again, your response already proved again and again that France is associated with being a pervert and sexuality in the fandom. Its undeniable that Hetalia has a hand in encouraging that. That's all I wanted to point out.

@r3ginasimon It felt like you were judging me, so I had the feeling of defending myself without offending you. Yes, The fandom does help create this associations of character, but it doesn't help the character when the Creator draws France naked with a rose covering his vital regions.
I think you came off as someone who was insulting another country instead of the fandom which is the reason why I acted the way I did even though it may not have been your intentions.

Strange, I though Canada was her "father" figure since he actually interact and more involved with her than France, but I'm unsure how much France influence Canada during modern times. I know the scope of France influenced on Canada in the foundation, but my knowledge on modern times is weak.

It is being more socially accepted discuss sex, but the whole "Weenier scandal" demonstrates that Americans are still critical of those type of scandals. Yes, American shows act like a 5th grader when it comes to jokes like those because it is not as accepted, but I don't care. I understand why this country acts a certain way, but I don't care.

This was absolutely adorable. I almost missed the Anime North IAmMatthewian panel (as it was, I didn't get to go to the opening cermonies), but I managed to make it for Saturday, and it was worth running around with no way of communicating with my group just to see this video! If it is at all possible, please return to Anime North next year!

@antiloqax Uhm... actually if you look at the world map, everyone who has seen it knows that France is largest nation in Western Europe (thus the reason for using France as a comparison in the original song). France is the second largest nation in Europe after Russia.

I think the fanbase is entirely of yoai fangirls and history/political lovers. Those two are the ones I see most on fanfic/fanart. I haven't been to a convention lately, so I don't know how many cosplayers there are.

Thanks to Hetalia... how a nation whose working class rose against its oppressive aristocracy inspired in turn many colonies to gain independence from their masters through the united revolution of the people, including the US I should add, is now reduced to a country of known for perversion... or the fact that dirty thoughts are inspired by a personification singing a line about the geography of what is essentially a "father" to her.

I know the country and character has more qualities than that. I am single human being who misunderstood the joke. You shouldn't base one error that person made upon a whole country. @antiloqax reduce to perversion. For example: America refused to have advertisements demonstrate naked people and banned naked beaches. European countries are more open about naked people, sex, and homosexuality. Movies, 1920s to 1950s, were banned to show sex, drugs, violence until Production Code ended in 1968. In America, It is a taboo and socially awkward to discuss openly because of the Puritan foundation and censorship, but it is changing. Is it a good thing or not? I don't know.

i was at Anime North this year and went to the iammathewian panel! It was amazing! Definitely one of the highlights of the weekend for me. I loved the idea for the Canada trivia game. I don't think I have ever seen a ball move so fast through a group of people! The opening was great, they all were. You guys rock! Hope to see you back at AN next year, I definitely would love to see another Iammathewian panel. X3 Canada FTW Love you Mattie!!

But some folks need to figure out how to go into the Sound Recorder options and set the quality higher than Telephone (preferably CD Quality) when they record their lines... I can't understand Russia or many of the others. :( It must have been even tougher for the audience at the convention.
Otherwise though, very entertaining and cool. :3

In case they really don't know how... Before recording ANYTHING, in Sound Recorder, click on File, then Properties.
There's a pulldown menu under "Format Conversion". Select "Recording formats", then click "Convert Now"
You'll get several pulldown menus. Select "CD Quality". You can either keep that, or you can alter the specs yourself (recommend 44.100 kHz, 16 bit Stereo, 172 kb/sec). Click OK on both menus to close them. The setting will now stay crystal clear for all future recordings.

@xZaCloudx And to go a step further, if possible, turn off the computer speakers while recording, then turn them back on to listen to the lines when you're done. It does wonders to reduce echoing and make things sound extra crisp. :3
