TFT are a very loyal breed. They are fierce in their protective nature, even though they are of smaller size. They are best dogs in my opinion! They are so humorous and delightful... One is very lucky to be loved by a toy-fox terrier....... =) I have been blessed twice now!!! Best wishes with you sweet dog!

@Sunshinecircle123 They are great lap dogs. They are very smart and easy to train, but you have to make the training fun for them. They love to play games, so turn the training into games. Some can be stubborn, they are terriers. Some are very high energy, some are lazy couch potatoes. Divot is more high energy than my others, but he is mellowing out a bit as he ages. He is not as high energy as a lot of other terriers, like Jack Russell Terriers.

@Sunshinecircle123 Although they are a relatively healthy breed, you should research health issues so you can ask about those when speaking to breeders. Also, keep in mind that these are toy dogs - they are tough and hardy, but they ARE breakable and should not play with larger dogs unless the larger dogs are very respectful of the small TFT size. Serious injuries can be caused when playing with larger dogs. This is not a breed that should be taken to dog parks.

I LOVE TFT!! I am currently proving to my dad that i can be responsible enough to raise them. I've done alot of research and even found breeders. What are some questions that I can ask the breeder? And also, from what ive learned is that they are loving, easy to train, easy grooming dogs with energy but not so much energy that they are jumping everywhere-but then my aunt said they were extremely stubborn and horrible to train! Is this true?! Divot inspires me! I love to see you teach your babies

Your dog knows "down," he just doesn't care. TFTs are fiercely independent and just want to do what they want.

Thanks! I'm really enjoying this puppy time. With one dog with a bad shoulder who can't do agility, and another dog who is amazing in class but can't seem to get past his trial stress in the Standard ring ... I was ready for a new puppy. Divot is everything I was looking for - confident, playful, drive, smart, and a sweetheart. Hopefully I won't screw it up.:-)
