Don't worry man, the internet will find them. Some guy found the Robotech movie, which is one of the most rarest movies around. Someone will find all these episodes and post them online. And it will be awesome.
@jampox101 Folks talk about what a shame it is that some episodes are now lost for Dr Who. The same is also the case for many older Asian anime that are at best sitting in storage somewhere rotting away after decades! One series I wish could be found is TIME QUEST (TONDEKEMAN) that was sub in Hawaii back in the 80s. Has anyone got #7,8,12,20,23,32,35? Even w/o subs would be great. Also if anyone has a guide maybe they could help me ID 3 Japan episodes I have? TIME QUEST has time travel too!
@jampox101 I wrote a letter to the BBC asking that they should reanimate the remaining episodes of the moonbase and they have replied back saying that my message has been put on their EXECUTIVE BOARD so they can refer to it when they need ideas and they also said they would think about it!
@blackphoenix77 Well...maybe. I remember reading a few years back (I think it was in Doctor Who Magazine) that the surviving episodes of The Dalek Master Plan "give ample evidence of ludicrous wigs, tacky sets, and acting that is very often over the top".
It's the loss of serials such as "The Macra Terror" and "The Celestial Toymaker" that are really regrettable.
"time is a 4 letter word!...even great civilizations can be ruined in one day...if the doctor gave us any lesson...it is our duty not to despair not to be defeated...and repair what has been destroyed by time..."
good job! best wishes!...ok...we do have the scripts...we do have the sound recordings...we do have computers and cgi...look on the brightside...if jar-jar-binks can be done...then any creature doctor who has can be redone...$ and time..."we have the technology...we can rebuild him!".../ @milwaukee
@BillyIsATwat23 You have your opinion and I have mine, which I am entitled to. I will show that I am not what you say I am by not responding to your obvious ploy to rile me. End of discussion.
@BillyIsATwat23@BillyIsATwat23 hold on you say that, but your judging classic Doctor Who of the 60's, completely not taking into account, that it was made for a 60's audience, it's not really going to appeal to you because the new generation is all about action, explosions and fast paced stories that lack much substance. And to be honest most of the writing then was better than most RTD stories, so much more intelligent and originality, if you don't like it, at least respect it as history.
@Timelord6661 You're reading to much into my comment. My fave Harthell story is "The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve" with his speech just before Dodo (boo hiss) turns up IMO being one of the great moments in Doctor Who. It's sad that not one frame of the story exists anymore but in the scheme of things there is no point getting upset. about it, at least we have the audio recordings unlike for example much of Quatermass, Out Of The Unknown or even Doomwatch.
@Timelord6661 I'm not judging 60's who by modern standards. I am not judging it at all. Some of the very best Who was made back then (The Mind Robber, Marco Polo, The Evil of the Daleks, The Crusade, The Faceless Ones...), but also some of the very worse (The Dominators, The Space Museum, The Gunfighters...). Ditto New Who. We have Blink, Vincent and the Doctor, The Unquiet Dead, but we also have Rise of the Cybermen and Fear Her.
@BillyIsATwat23 Oh okay, but there is no harm in trying to get them back still, I mean it's a shame they were gone in the first place, I do think that we should at least look everywhere we can for them, out of honour and respect for the show, there are plenty of countries not searched by the BBC for the episodes, so I do think we should at least search where possible. I agree on most of those stories in Nuwho, but I do like Moffat's series, for the way Matt Smith plays the Doctor.
@Timelord6661 Please don't go on about me not respecting "it as history", I am simply stating that in the scheme of things 108 missing episodes of a long running almost 50 year old TV show is not worth getting upset about. It's a shame, but nobody died and at least we have the audio recordings.
@BillyIsATwat23 to be honest I made a mistake in that comment, I actually can't find your first comment on my video, I only saw the reply, I saw another comment on one of my videos that went along the lines of talking down about 60's Doctor, I used logic to assume that your original comment was about what I said previously, it must have been another comment, I guess Troughton was right, logic merely enables one to be wrong with authority, but I do believe that as long as we try to get them back.
@BillyIsATwat23 ... it's better to be sure that we can't get them back before you make the conclusion that you can't, I mean if you misplaced something important in your bedroom, you wouldn't simply give up half way through searching the area the lost it in and simply jump to the conclusion that it's lost, you'd at least want to finish the job so that you know whether it is possible to find it or not, before you make the conclusion.
@BillyIsATwat23 Actually, William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Nicholas Courtney, Elisabeth Sladen, Roger Delgado, Ian Chesterson and others died. 108 of 256 is a lot of missing episodes, and there's many, many people who would love to have them back.
@kaldemvor I'd be very happy if the lost episodes turned up. There probably are a few out there still, but for various reasons it's doubtful they will ever be returned to the BBC.
Sure I'll never see Marco Polo but I've got the BBC CD, the Loose Canon recon and the "Lost In Time" recon so it's not completly lost is it?
4. There were some people who had early versions of the VHS in the late 60's, there are documented cases of early video recordings of The Space Pirates (the one that already exists, doh!) and apparently a DW fan watched the first episode of The Invasion on a poor video in 1980, and some Americans taped DW in the 70's, it is possible other people did the same..... we can only hope.
It's been 18 years since the last story was retrieved in full and 3 years since an episode was discovered. :(
1. Doctor Who was sent to many countries, such as Iran, it is possible lost episodes exist in these countries which are quite happy NOT to help England.
2. There was a Skip company that disposed BBC programs in the 70's, APPARENTLY the boss of such a Skip company kept many of these films and may still have these in an attic in England.
I heard this from a few and looked through some sites and read on the sun that in.. sry I cant remmber if its either Zambia or Zimbabwe the dictator there mugabe says he has alot of old reals of doctor who im guessing he mentioned macra terror specifically although i didnt read that only heard it and that he doesnt like the bbc so hes forbidding them from coming and looking there its pretty funny they photo shopped him to look like davros lol but yeah thats all I've heard.
I really hope they find power of the daleks and evil of the daleks even tough they have found episode two of evil of the daleks
