  • In many other programs, this shape could be derived from a simple primitive that is subdivided

  • Easier to just teach 43,000 people the wrong way to create complex shapes

  • Thought I would share this with you!! Great job! I tried to post an article I wrote based on this video, but it won't let me. Look for it at wikihow.com!

  • ive been using maya, 3Ds max, and Auto CAD for about 5 years and i have to say those are much easier than this. You cant even create a sphere right away.

  • @xXprojectt2501Xx

intersect is one of SU's most powerfull tools! Check my videos, I think you might like them :)

  • cool

  • hi, i am trying to make this curved objects following this video, then the simlest thing to do doesnt seem to work for me. i wonder if anybody can give me a tip!

when i try to make a surface by connecting lines with those two curved lines, they simply make lines withouth a surface as it shown in the video.

how can i make the surface?

  • very nice and useful. We could call it curving the curved surface "Double Curvy Surface"

  • is it a primarily polygon based program, or can you use NURBS modelling to create more complex surface, and double curvature.

I use ALIAS at the moment, I was wondering if this has any of alias's capabilities if i want to do quick sketch models without spending time on there

  • @Bananananananananify

It is a polygon based program. No NURBS.

  • Nice video. But can someone help me with one thing? At 1:03 and 1:55 the erase tool is used to get rid of the line on the faces, when I try this I lose part of the surface. I am able to hide the line but I can not erase it, like in the video. What am I doing????

  • you must erase the line which make a face .or may be there is a gap so that other lines can`t make a face

  • If you hold ctrl when using the rase tool, you soften lines, making them disapear. It is sometimes better to right click the line and hide it however.

  • Pressing CTRL and clicking with the Eraser Smooths the line, so hides the line and make it 1 object :) Hope That Helps.

  • me to

  • @jimpunkrockford me to

  • strange how that works. Fringeko what version of sketchup do you have?

  • i use 7 i think

  • awesome tutorial, thanks!

  • No problem, glad I could help.

  • Wow!! That was just what I needed. A tutorial on curves and some Aerosmith!! Thank you...

  • wow, best sketch up tutorial ive ever seen thanks so much for sharing

  • thank you for the video. I will try it like how you did in the video :D. I see that u set up some guide lines so making picking the curved shapes easier so i will try that :D
