The tactical catch only requires filing at the catch surface. You do not have to file the stop where it rests against the inside of the magazine catch tower.
I bought a Tactical catch and the holes do not line up for the catch pin. Is the tactical like this speed catch in that I need to file against "stop" ?I ask because it doesnt stick out like this speed catch but is rather just an angle that hits the inside of the mag release tower.
No, the act of 'rocking' in the new magazine depresses the release. When the magazine is fully seated, the release slides over the magazine tab to retain the magazine.

I am so getting one for my AK 74(polish Tantal) hitting that small release for a "tactical mag change" is a pain.
