proof of your slavery to government...begging for rights and freedom...keep playing the democracy game, trying to win yourself a little freedom...the tyrant government has ruled the people for over 200 years...how many more years will it take, before you open your dim eyes? no free man is ruled by others
@longfootbuddy Actually it looks more like they are threatening the government. I mean you saw the movie from which masks came? Of course, I don't approve of threats of Guy Fawkes type violence. But there's no doubt that secession from the establishment is a better strategy that taking it over or violently rebelling.
The Tea Party includes people whose main interest is liberty and using the Constitution to restrict government. (Though as a libertarian I think that experiment has failed.) However, there are other elements whose focus is increasing government repression, be it against Arabs and Immigrants, womens' control of their bodies, defining marriage only one way, stomping on any nation that doesn't kowtow to the US (with China's money of course) and other anti-liberty notions. They're no true tea party.
@carolmoore Includes. As a very small minority. Most of the Tea Party marches lock step behind Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin. Who manipulate the truth, use half-truths or outright lie and use the proper verbiage and emotions to rally people behind them. And most of the people that they are voting for are the very people that will limit liberty in a heartbeat.
Thanks to all those who took the time and made the effort needed to put government on notice. Of course, our government will continue on the path to tyranny. The real point is to educate the citizens and try to wake them up to see what's happening. As the US standard of living takes a sharp drop and our liberties are even more restricted and ignored, more people will wake up. I hope it's not already too late. Our second amendment is the only reason we're not already 100% fascist.
Spoken like someone who understands that a big part of the job of the military of any nation state is to crush those who seek independence from its oppressive laws and taxes.
yes, because the military must be used to suppress the people they are trained to protect. what a lovely use for military made of the same people you suggest it must protect the country from.
"A holy war will now begin on America, and when it is ended America will be supposedly the citadel of freedom, but her millions will unknowingly be loyal subjects to the Crown....in less than two hundred years the whole nation will be working for divine world government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire." -- Cornwallis to Washington(quoted by Jonathan Williams in 'Legions of Satan', 1781)
The three candidates willing to adhere to the constitution right now are Senator Mike Gravel, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, and most strictly and adamantly, Congressman Ron Paul.
When the people fear the goverment there is tyranny, when the goverment fears the people there is LIBERTY!
Thomas Jefferson
do you want to return to our constitution and our rights GOOGLE RON PAUL ON YOUTUBE the only persidential candidate that supports our constitution and our rights.
It should be a contest of intelligence, a contest of wit, a competition of compassion, to find a TRUE LEADER OF MEN. This contest doesnt exist, you cannot pull this GREAT man from a selection of 3-5 stuffy, out of touch, corruptable uppercrust, but instead from the cream of the crop. It takes the blatant misuse of power for us to see clearly, what we all have secretly known.
in my city i keep bumping into a wtp gentlemen. i asked him for information today at an establishment that me and him were. he gave me pamphlets to givemeliberty and a map to get to a WTP meeting in my town.
I feel it is time we the people took back our government. Long live liberty!
Ron Paul 2008! Brief overview of Ron Paul's record: He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war.
The Right to Petition is the "capstone" Right of the Bill of Rights and that its effect is the direct exercise of Popular Sovereignty -- the First Great Right of the Founding documents that declares government is the servant of Men.
YEP, and that worked for the first 100 years... After that CERTAIN companies got so large and wealthy they decided to make laws themselves, and the greedy fatcats have been sucking down the "funding" since. Some may have good intentions, but a new house in the hamptons will surely change their minds. Its a well oiled machine, feasting on the blood of the average man.
Well done & ahmen! We do need to have a responsible & responsive government! I have had enough of this administration and their lies & sneakiness!5 starz!
This isn't about Bush, people. This supercedes your mostly ill-informed political agendas. Personally I hope this country's citizens wake up and realize the truth about America. I fully support the constitutional basis for this protest, and I hope they succeed, whatever the cost.
If what you're trying to say is that it encompasses this administration, than you are correct, but it would be remiss to omit stating that it encompasses every other administration in American history as well, because they have all been guilty of such censorship. The only difference is that people cared enough to fight about it in the past, now people just complain about it. The point was that this demonstration is not representative of a solely anti-Bush agenda.
Awesome! That was wonderful. I almost teared up. It was the most beautiful, patriotic act I have seen in 7 years! KUDOS to all the "V's" and all who helped!
3) I've followed Bob's efforts for a few years now. He's been pursuing this for over a decade & has fully documented all of his efforts & his organization's efforts in great detail. There's currently a lawsuit that the Foundation has filed -- in the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washingon to be decided shortly -- with 1700 named plaintiffs that seeks to enforce & define the contours of the People's 1st Amendment Right to "petition their Government for a redress of grievances".
2) Thanks to the grand efforts of the highly respected & honorable Bob Schulz of the We the People Foundation -- amongst a host of thousands of other good citizens -- the WTP Foundation was able to host this large & inspiring demonstration in front of the White House. How do we take our Government back from all of the lobby groups, special interests, and other institutions that heavily influence it at the expense of the People? A demonstration such as this is part of the solution.
1) It's high time for We the People to reassert our control over our "out of control" and runaway servant Government. The U.S. Constitution is the Law of the Land. Our Government has been severely and recklessly undermining and violating it for almost a century now. It has come to the point of crisis, where we find ourselves on the verge of virtual national bankruptcy, our unalienable Rights demolished, and the very real specter of a totalitarian government very close to being realized.
And I believe the clearest words about Liberty were something to the effect of "shall NOT perish from this earth." How have SO many forgotten? we must defend what the founders instructed us to defend, and taught us that though we HAVE freedom of speech, it is NOT FREE.
I would MUCH rather have this group of 'unknown' masked-men, dressed in costumes, running our country... versus the incumbent & grossly malfeasant administration we have in place!
