  • @nao1163 - That is Kurt Masur(Kurt is pronounced court) and the NY Philharmonic, back then .

  • @saxsalsa01 still the same concertmaster, Glenn Dicterow's been concertmaster since the 80's

  • @Brokeaintbroken Stanley Drucker was still princ. clarinet in '98, been there since '48 til 2008, 60 years WOW. I'm in love Cynthia and Rebecca the viola's. Judith princ. bassoon been there a long time too. I follow orch. whenever they're on PBS, which is not too often here in Florida. The New Years concert was great - all Tchaikovsky w/ Lang Lang.

  • Thank you por posting this video! Great Job! wonderful performance!

  • i love the violinist! . .

  • nat4zk, the buzz is certainly not gone once the song starts. It's a good thing you're not a recording studio engineer if you can't hear that

  • At 2:40 when the vio solo begins it's abit too fast for me (imo)

  • my audio has a loud hum on it.,.. 60 cycles.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥Tchaikovsky♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • where is dancer's? -)

  • salut svp j ve bien avoir le titre exacte de cette chanson ça fé 1 baille ke j la cherche svpp !!!

  • the buzz gone when they played!!

  • With all due respect to Glenn Dichterow, I think he is a little too free with the rhythm (the whole main slow section). That plus so many volume swells, accents and sudden wild vibrato on some notes... for me it sounds for the most part very disjointed.

Regardless of my opinion, I thank you for giving the chance to hear and see this.

  • Here can I find the audio file for this?

  • i want the audio file aswell :)

  • dans le debut de la musique on ecoute un bruit tres desagreable. mais oui, la musique de tchaikvsky est fantastique!

  • ♥♥♥♥♥ The Swan Lake

  • i heart tchaikovsky

  • That horrid buzzing in the background keeps taking my attention away from the song.

  • I love this song!!! so beautiful!!!

  • Man, I had no idea NYPhil had it like this. Maybe Avery Fisher really does make them sound like . . . well not their best.

  • J'adore !!les ballets classiques.

A apart le petit bruit (mais c pas grave ) tout est parfait

  • Thank God they played loud enough to block out that background interference.

  • Gotta Love the New York Phil

  • ateh a perfeição tem inveja desses caras...

  • What happened to the Nadien Video that used to be here on Youtube. Can anyone repost it? PLEASE...I think Glenn's swan is more like a chicken...

  • What does that mean?

  • David Nadien's solo under Bernstein is more elegantly played. Subtlety, as one critic has mentioned, is not one of Dicterow's more favorable traits.

  • Intonation is not one of Glenn's strengths either. Everything is sharp.

  • super solo!!!!!!!!!
