  • There is definitely an aural difference, personally I'd go for the more "live" session oriented Goldie Overton. Thanks for the review - music to my ears - literally! :-p

  • I just bought that Overton after seeing the video and received it today. It's wonderful. The video was a big help but you have to play the Overton in person to really appreciate the unique tonal quality and personality. I already have whistles that sound like the Burke composite so the Overton is a very nice addition to the collection. Thanks to Doc for the video and it was a pleasure working with him.

  • Yup, I'd agree with that assessment. Though the Burke is plenty loud for session work. :0)

  • The Overton has a buzzier edge. It's brighter sounding and seems louder (assuming no compression effects are going on). The Burke is purer sounding. Thanks for putting that together.
