  • Dude, sounds awesome! Trying to decide between HK's and Cobra's too. Did you do anything else to these pipes. They sound different than other big straights I've heard? Whats a K&N Filter? I dont know much.

  • Thanks. Too bad this bike is long gone as I traded it in a few months ago.

Anyway, the air filter is an after market K&N brand that I modified by cutting a larger hole to allow more air to enter the intake. Its a common modification and works well. You can also buy the K&N already cut from Gman Industries.

  • thanx... i ll be waiting for another video then...

vibrating concrete under my shoes=this is exactly what i am looking for :-D

i would go for HK`s but is much easier to get cobras for me... hard decision....

  • hey, nice sound. i have VL1500 LC and can`t decide:shall i get HK 3" or Cobra Speedster Longs? Which is louder? could you post more videos? sound of acceleration or revved up....

  • I considered the Cobras, I liked the look of the HK's better and once I heard them I had to have them. If you want an extreme sound with the HK's you can always remove the baffles and replace them with a 10" pipe. I think they are WAY too loud like that however. Standing next to my bike on the driveway I can feel the concrete vibrating under my shoes. I will post another video in a few days with some more revs and possibly a fly by under acceleration.

  • sounds great..a little smoother than mine

if you dont mind posting, what are your settings for your Cobra Fi2000R

I have the HK 3"... but I havent put the filter in yet

    Tnx for ur help

  • When I took this video, I had JUST finished putting the pipes on so the Cobra fi2000r was set at the factory setting 3.5, 6, 3.5. Since then I have increased the settings to 4.5, 7, 4.5. I found it running a bit lean after a few weeks of riding. Thanks....

  • Tnx Ozarkmark..

My fi200r running at factory settings like yours was.. its lean..getting the popping/a little backfire on deceleration..gonna try ur settings..

Did u do anything with the pair valve ?

last but not least ..what kind of mileage are u getting ??

Tnx again..this will help me out

  • sory it took so long to get back...I have not removed the pair valve yet. I did plug the two tubes going to the base of the cylinders with some old valve stem caps. You can use marbles or whatever is handy.

    I get about 42 mpg...

  • The main thing you want to do is get the Gman Industries open top K&N air filter. It makes a WORLD of difference.
