Probably about 100 hours of that is sand riding. The rest is trail riding and hillclimbing. Im racing mx this year so we will really be testing the engine out. Do you do alot of maintance on yours?

@ThePolaris4life I never make it long enough to have to do maintenance mine are blowing up in less than 12 hrs.. Just change oil fairly often my road bearings are what are going out. I change after 6 hrs after new motors.

@jrdragracingkid Sounds like you are having some bad luck. Mine had a few problems in the beginning but we worked all the bugs out. Ran good till last summer i had a ballancer shaft bearing come apart. Besides that i just had a few electrical problems. Do you still have the outlaw? and what year is it?

I haven't seen it for a month and half while its getting new motor (warranty)... pretty pissed but idc.. its a 2010 i bought brand new in august of 2011.. Im looking at getting a new Suzuki z400 though. Im not gonna change oil any more often than 10 hrs and when i talked to a honda dealership they were shocked I changed it ever 10 hrs they thought that was way to often tho. idk maybe polaris is just not my friend..

@jrdragracingkid I would be mad mad if mine was a 2010 and already blew up. Atleast its still under warranty. My wiring harness started on fire and called polaris and they said my waranty was up 4 days before. But 10 hours isnt very bad depending on what riding you do. Most 450 machines require alot of maintenance. I change it every ride. I would rather spend the money on oil than chance engine failure. But it sounds like KTM is not your friend, not polaris...

@itzktmrydr37 i have owned a polaris outlaw that has the ktm motor in it... 4 monthes and i blew two motors up. i use to ride kawasaki never broke a single thing in the year and half i rode it.. ktm motors are just poor quality and its not how ride it is to ride.

@jrdragracingkid try changing your oil more often or use high quality oil i change mine after every weekend of hard riding and when we did the port work the piston still looked brand new and it has been raced hard.

of corse it blew up its a ktm lol my freind had a ktm it blew up 10 times in a summer (top and bottom end)and he breaks it in properly and dose every thing really well but ktms are just garbage, one time he only made 1 lap and it blew up!! so they bought another one brand new and its blown up twice :O went to suzuki and havnt broken a thing

You dont have to give it a long break in just enough to get all of the engine lubed with oil. Dealerships say like 3 hours of halfthrottle but u really dont have to.

@MrJrakk What do you know about racing anyway? when i broke my YFZ in i took it to the racetrack, about 2-3 minutes of half throttle riding, then i just went out and ride it like i always do on the track. Then its important to change oil after 1 hour already. My engine has worked well for over 100 hours now with 2 piston changes (due to wear out)
