This is what happens when people are afraid to ask questions in science class. They hide behind religion. Tell me preacher, how do you know for sure that the bible is the truth and not a man written fairytale? What proof do you have for yourself? How do you know that you're not hallucinating? The answer is you don't know, you just like the idea that the bible is the truth. Ask yourself the question, are you here to speak the truth or to promote the ideas that fit in with your favorite reality?
@bubbah for real... this guy is a joke. I love when he said it has done nothing for mankind.. except when you work with biology you basically have to know about evolution. This guys a chode.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense....
About the idea that young man keeps spouting that nothing scientifically unobservable can be real.... Was that idea arrived at through scientific observation? If not, then how can it be known to be true?
the fucked up thing is, these religious people are soooo stubborn, they wont even try to open their mind to other possibilities. I think they are actually trying to convince themselves of this fantasy more than anyone else because its so much more pleasant and easy to believe in it than to admit we just rot in the ground when we die.
Yes but like most other people, you will be disgusted by the idea... If your not, then maybe you should stick to religion where you are told what to think. (except catholic which has a high rate of molestation in their church).
Why do people insist that the Catholic religion is Christianity. How many Catholics carry a bible to church. 1/10? I know this because I used to be Catholic and then I woke up. God is the only being that can tell me what to do. I am no greater than God. You made yourself King of Your life and it will lead to destruction.
your deluded mate. the church is FULL of lies & the bible is a skewed documentation of history. "You made yourself King blah blah" is that supposed to scare me? grow a brain
All or most non-catholic christians believe that catholics go to heaven. catholics believe the Jesus the Anointed One (the Christ) character to be the savior & son of god. Both of these points seem to be enough evidence that catholics are christian. So much for the no true scotsman fallacy.
@JAKEV25 yea you belive that but you dont think the man himself that exsist today is trying to constuck the world the same way you read the bible no!..?
even demons believe in God and tremble. belief in itself does not save you. You are only interested in atheist talking points spoon fed to you by either websites or friends/peers. Your fallacies play no part in this. A flower is a flower by the definition. Belief is about 1/3 of the definition. I am not hear for philosophical babel. You must first believe, then repent (turn from sin), and then be baptized. If you love God you will keep his commandments.
if jesus is gods son ,, i meen how many more are there.. shouldnt there be a brother of jesus's and gods daughter we should be looking up too.. this crock of shit bible book has got so many loopholes...religion has caused war after fuckin war... im not against people having a higher power i just think its hilarious that.. you god people think your going somewhere after ur last breath.. hate to break it to you.. your going 6 feet under and not rising anywhere..
Are you sure about no life ...afterlife? Mary was not a perpetual virgin as the roman catholic church portrays - which is itself clearly unbiblical. (Jesus had brothers and sisters). What loopholes do you speak of in the bible? Have you read it in its entirety?
God manifest himself onto ONE MAN, who was Jesus Christ. Mary was not the mother of God, but a mother of a man that God himself would manifest himself to. He was the Son of God. The brother of Jesus was Joseph and Mary's son, but Jesus was God's son (Virgin Birth).
Jesus never claimed to be God and Muslims and Jews rightly point out that we are all sons of god according to the religion even if Jesus did exist.
Also there is no contemporary historical evidence indicating that Jesus exists, everything ever written about him outside the bible was writen after he allegedly died. Futhermore the Gospels are of unknown date and authorship, and they were voted on by men. Lastly, virgin birth myths were not uncommon at the time.
Jesus said that "The Father and I are One". The bible says that Jesus is "my only begotten son" The muslim quran doesnt say anything about muhammed doing any miracles to prove that he was a prophet. Plus, the quran has plenty of contradictions. The gospels were chosen by the Church, and that doesn't prove anything on your side. When you say "at the time" do mean after Jesus' death? We are not all sons of God, the bible does not say that (for what I know of, list the verse if there is one)
Ah, the myths of John do indeed state that your god gave it's only begotten son, however I must point out that you have a very doctrinal interpretation of John 10:30, to say "I am one with God" is not to say "I am God".
If that is what it means, John 10:30 seems to contradict John 3:16. I suppose this is why you Christians can not agree on even the most basic points of doctrine, and why there are over 3000 sects of christianity and several major Christian religions each very different.
It is not a contradiction at all. If "the Father and I are one" he is still the Father's Son. Most of what you would call a "Christian sect" are imitators of Christianity. There are alot of conterfeits out there that imitates Christianity but aren't really biblically based. For ex., Jehovah witness (what you would call a Christian sect) believes no one will go to hell, but one's soul will be annihilated. The bible talks about that there a plenty of deceivers out there.
@bananabebop First of all, "One with god" does not mean "god". You have a DOCTRINAL interpretation of that verse, you extrapolate more from it than what it says. Second, you don't get to define who is and is not a Christian. Third your notion that anyone who does not believe in your god will go to hell is also doctrinal interpretation, your way isn't the only way to interpret what you read, and your faith based doctrine is no more correct that the faith based doctrine of another.
I believe what the bible says, and if anyone who believes other than it is not of Christ. I can define what who is and isnt a Christian: A Christian is a follower of Jesus. Thats in the dictionary. Are you a Christian? No. Because you don't believe in Christ. I don't know alot, but what I do know is that the bible is pretty clear on certain things. Mark 16:16 says "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned".
You believe things in addition to what the bible says. If you want to use the dictionary definition your No True Christian argument goes out the window. You Christians can't even agree on the finest points of doctrine, and by the way Mark 16:16 doesn't say "Damned to hell" it simply sayd "Damned" which could mean any number of things. You are DAMNED to suffer in this world and this life, for instance. You are DAMNED to eternal death. The word Damned doesn't invoke your DOCTRINE of hell for all.
You should just go look up what the word damn means. The bible is very clear that you will go to hell if you dont believe John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him *should not perish*, but have everlasting life." logically, if you would reverse this statement that would mean that you would have eternal death if you dont believe. when it says *shall not perish* it means for ONLY the ones who believe. do u understand?
Clearly the Bible isn't clear on that because you Christians can't agree on what it means. "Should not Perish, but have eternal life" logically suggests suggests eternal death as you say. Final Death in Sheol, a concept that Hebrews understood, but apparently Christians had trouble with. That's the opposite of eternal life in some fiery torture pit called hell.
I would admit that there are alot of stubborn "Christians" out there who would like to change the actual truth of a verse, but the bible says what it says, it is very clear on certain things that it would take a dummy to try to make people misinterpret what it really says. Its funny, because at my church we have learning these basics, and its also quite funny that we all agree on the same thing in our bible study. There shouldn't be any divisions (read 1 corinthians 1:10-17 :10-17) really.
The "truth of the verse" is not agreed upon. No one is trying to change it, it simply isn't clearly spelled out in a way that all Christians agree upon. You believe what you do because of DOCTRINE and INTERPRETATION more than because of what the verse actually says. You have added to what is there.
You know you're right the same way they know they're right. Your Christianity is no more legemite than theirs. What sect do you belong to? What Denomination? What country (region influences belief)
I live in TX, US and I was raised particulary as a Pentecostal but I visit many different churches, like Baptist, Assembly of God, etc. I don't go around saying "I AM A PENTECOSTAL" because I know that I am simply a Christian and that we are one in Christ and that is shown if they believe everything what the bible says.
And yet the sects you mentioned all differ on points of doctrine, as TheThinkingAtheist points out in his Parody Video "A House Divided" watch?v=MfA6mTgl7tU
There is no division among those groups. No matter how much you criticize the church they head head of The Church remains, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the words he spoke. My church is actually planing to combine with another Church, and who knows, it might be a another denomination. The Spirit of Christ OVERCOMES the differences. But you, yourself, don't believe in Christ. What is there to argue about?
Sorry but you're just wrong, there are divisions of doctrine between those groups. You simply don't notice because those doctrinal difference aren't brought up. Go to a Baptist Church and start talking about speaking in toungs. While you're at it, start asking people whether Jesus is beside God, or whether God and Jesus are the exact same character. They'll all say Jesus is God but many mean something different when they say that.
What is there to Argue? That your doctrine is not the only one
There are some doctrinal differences, but what is your point? Those differences can resolved and they have been resolved and I have seen it happen. My mother made a Jehovah witness woman shuttup because she knew her "doctrine" wasn't biblical at all.
My point is only that there are major doctrinal differences between Christian Sects and ultimately your doctrinal interpretation of the bible and your doctrinal extra-biblical notions are no better than the next persons.
There are many different versions of the Bible in many different languages and what they say can be read many different ways, your doctrinal interpretations are not shared by the majority of Christians unless you deny the Christianity of everyone who disagrees with you.
Hey, how about you list some doctrinal differences for me to know about? The Catholic church is completely contrary to the Word of God and one pope said claims "Evolution is Fact". What so called Mary/Jesus Follower believes also in evolution? I don't recommend you go to a Catholic church if you ever decide to go to church at all.
What does it matter if there differences? In the bible there is no contradictions and it seems to me that you are trying too hard to disprove Christianity, when the truth is, that you have nothing. Do have anything esle?
I am not trying to disprove Christianity. There is an extensive list of contradictions in the Bible all you need to do is google "Bible Contradictions" and you have apologist who go through and explain away a lot of them with convoluted apologetics and specialized reinterpretation of what the different verses mean. Even if there were no Bible contradictions it doesn't change that you Christians interpret the different verses differently and have hundreds of confliction doctrines about it.
I have already searched them before and most of the scriptures they list are covered already and can be interpreted logically where they couldn't be a contradiction. Most of the verses are out of context from another verse. So they show on verse, in another context they show another, which in means isn't a contradiction.
Yes I'm sure with convoluted apologetics and reinterpretation of what the verses mean you can easily dismiss any and all contradiction. As a matter of faith you are not allowed to recognize that the bible has contradictions even if that's true, you will never accept contradictions even if clear contradictions are presented to you.
I am not here to talk about Bible contradictions though, because even if the Bible were one book with no contradictions, you Christians do not all read it the same.
No matter what contradiction is presented to you, you are not allowed to accept that it is a contradiction. You must always interpret it in such as way that it is not a contradiction, no matter what. If you are ever forced to recognize a contradiction you will only say it is human error. And whatever inconstancy I provide you will go find apologetics to explain it away for you, and you'll just nod and accept his answer.
I can clear those so called Contradicitons myself. All you need to know is English and Bible knowledge and they're cleared. The ones they list are quite deceiving if you nothing about the bible in the first place.
Yes I am sure you must know the English Language to correctly understand the bible, because if you study it's history and read the oldest manuscripts you may end up like Bob Price.
Here is a fun fact, did you know which books made it into the Bible came down to a vote? People actually voted on what was the divine truth of God, and the vote was not even unanimous. Isn't that interesting?
My point is that early christianity was also a bunch of divided sects, and a few men in seats of power decided to outlaw the sects they did not like, destroy gospels they did not agree with, and voted in a room full of men in a nonunanimous decision which books would be in your modern bible. Since then other books have been throne out, the Protestant and Catholic bibles do not even have all of the same books.
It is actually hilariously common to see a Spirit-filled baptist church, though every church is different. Most Christian "sects" are the same if the church fundamentally lines up with the Bible. If you would understand you will see that any church who do what the BIBLE says (Believe, be baptized, Receive the Holy Spirit) which most so-called baptist do. Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;..."
"Spirit filled" means nothing. By Spirit filled I suppose you mean a bunch of people working themselves into hysterics and feeling the vibrations from loud speakers thinking they're feeling the "holy spirit". A chaotic mess of people working themselves into a psychotic state like a bunch of primitives around a fire thinking they are in touch with some spirit.
Spirit filled is shown by fruits - which would be Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, etc. and Having the power to cast out demons in the name of Jesus, power of prayer and intercession (This is not my own doctrine this is biblical and will give bible verses that is evident for these things in the Christian church), speaking in tongues, heal the sick, raise the dead, etc. These things happen ONLY in a church who are believers in the words of Jesus. Search GREAT COMMISION IN BIBLE.
You show your crazy pentecostal roots. Most Christians don't buy into this. You may have stage magicians like Benny Hinn get on stage and do magic tricks by putting all the true cripples to the side and having a woman with a bad leg get up out of a wheel chair, and give a baby a valume and wait for it to come out of a coma while speaking gibberish. You do not raise the dead and you do not heal amputees.
It was a Catholic Church, large hall with about twenty people in it sitting in pews in front of the image of a tortured man hanging from some boards listening to some man in a dress and handing out wafers. Rather Cliche and not like your crazy protestant Churches I'm sure. You protestants normally sing songs to your invisible friend or listen to some guy interpret the bible for you since you apparently can't do it yourself. Some of you work yourselves into frenzies and think you're feeling god.
The Catholic church goes against what the bible says anyways. In fact, having a Dead Jesus on the Cross is quite blasphemous, and graven, which goes against the 10 Commandments. (Exodus 20). And its also bad how the Catholic church forbids people to read the bible. Protestants actually ENCOURAGE to read the bible. The Catholic Church is not fundamentally stable. I do not agree with how you stereotype all Protestant churches. What protestant church you went to? I read my bible, thank you.
I'm quite aware of the Irony and I'm also quite aware of what hypocrites most protestants who criticize catholics are. Most Protestants are fine with stained glass windows and you often have emblems of crosses, in fact I bet there is one on your very bible. The Catholic Church does not forbid people to read the Bible, I do not know where you heard that insane lie but Catholic Ministers even have study sessions to help people "properly understand" the Bible.
As for stereotyping you crazy protestants. I can not help it if you Christians are over 3000 different cults each one different and each one equally convinced you're right and the other guys are wrong.
Your comment about The Catholic Church not being stable is laughable, the Catholics are far more consistent than you protestants. Protestants are constantly dividing into new sects with differences of doctrine. Why do you think there are so many different kinds of Baptist?
You yourself are dividing me into a sect. Why do call me a Protestant? The bible is as a whole, every Bible-believing Christian needs to believe everything what Bible says. Why? So there would be no divisions. There are only sects of any religion because people believe on one thing. The bible speaks specifically against divisions, but people don't want to listen to some parts about the bible. Like speaking in tongues (which is shown in Acts, and was said by the words of Christ), etc.
Banana it is a fact that there are thousands of different churches who teach wildly different things and interpret the bible in wildly different ways. There isn't even one bible there are dozens of different versions of the bible.
There are different versions of the bible, but they are normally just English variants; such as the American Standard Version, American Translation, Amplified Bible, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, King James and it goes on! Compare the verses, they are the same meaning (except for the corrupt New International Version).
Yes that is why they are sometimes worded very differently and why they do not all have the same number of books right? And everyone who does not use the version you use is using a corrupt version.
Eternal Life is Heaven, or so called Paradise (Abrahams Bossom). Eternal death is hell. Death and Hell will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14). & there is only life in Christ (Joh 14:6 Rom 20:14, math. 28:18 and so on and so on)
Banana that is an entirely doctrinal interpretation of the verses you have provided. Joh 14:6 only says that Jesus is the only way to "the Father" it doesn't say you have to believe that Jesus is God to get to "the Father".
Rom 20:14 isn't even in a lot of bibles and varies greatly between versions and time periods (and it's also irrelevant to the discussion), Matt 28:18 is also irrelevant to the conversation. It looks like you're just citing quotes that assert the dominance of your god.
Matt 20:28 is irrelevant to your doctrinal assumptions about the afterlife, and it also does not state that Yahweh and Jesus are the same being, nor does it describe Heaven (heaven could mean the sky and stars, the literal heaven above your head).
@JAKEV25 It's wrong in many ways (such as claiming that human morality is obviously supernatural when in fact evolution is the bext explanation), contradicts itself, and encourages bizarre epistemology and argument ad baculum.
Think please. Your science leads to nothing. Even if you trace it back to the big bang(another theory) where does this energy come from? Where do the molecular partials come from?
My logic tells me all things have to be created. I see a building I say an architect built it. I see a complexed cell, I see a creator. For what is more complicated....a mansion or a single cell.
lol... where is Richard Dawkins :D He would have put an end to this ridicules discussion. Its madness to belive in a god, who created everything, you, me, the universe, and yet u can offend him! :P I find that very hard to belive :P
God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die
but will have eternal life.God sent his Son into the world, not to? condemn the world, but to save
the worldThose who believe in him won't be condemned. But those who don't believe are already
condemned because they don't believe in God's only son. This is why people are condemned: The light came into the world. Yet people loved the dark rather than the light because their actions were evil
I've watched most of your videos. You are the one street preacher on Youtube who actually speaks the truth of the gospel. There are many out there who speak lies. Keep serving the lord spreading the gospel all over the Earth
Religion is a disease of the mind, you have to corner it in a logical argument disproving one of the debatants statements.
At this point the discussion will be over, religious people run if you dispose a "nerve" in their defences. Your argument will be forgotten and denied.
the bible and science do not go hand in hand. the burden of proof does lie with me the atheist but you the christian, you are the one making the claims, i simply refuse to believe those claims. you have to prove to me that your god exists, not the other way around. the bible is just another religious text compiled over a number of years that claims that theirs is the one and only salvation. all religious folk are the same, a bunch of arrogant bullshiters who make the world a worse place to live.
the burden of proof IS on you, if you're the one making the claims and going out into the public, the burden of proof lies on you to prove the claims. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
I don't believe that Brahma exists. I was making the point that you can't definitivly prove the non-existence of anything. Something exists when reasonable evidence is presented to prove that it does. It's a convieneint use of language to say that magical pixies do not exist, but it's not a completly accurate one. I would certainly beilive in a deity if decent enough evidence was presented to me, often i want to believe, but so far i haven't found any.
I'm just looking for the evidence. If compelling evidence was presented for a God i would certainly believe. I've read chapters of the bible and was tought christianity at my school but neither of these sources backed up any of their claims.
I would disagree that creation is self-evident. From my studies of science it seemed to me that the enviroment we inhabit is pretty hostile to life. I disagree with the gensis only because it makes no attempt at proving what it sais, it just asserts that God made the heavens and the Earth. I've heard people claim that the bible is scientific but from my limited knowledge it doesen't offer much proof.
if creation isn't self-evident, we wouldn't be here. science does portray a hostile environment but that would only reinforce the notion that things didn't happen by chance. God does not have to break it down for you and that's exactly what He said to Job, by asking him where he was when the foundations of the earth were laid. if you do have limited knowledge, increase it and speak to those who know the bible better than you. i'm not trying to be condescending or anything but i'm convinced.
How would we not be here if creation was not self evident? I bring up the point about a hostile enviroment becuase it seems to go very far against the idea of the Earth being exclusivly created for humans. Take infant mortality ,every month tens of thousands of children never get past their first birthday becuase of various microrganisms. presumably God created these viruses and bacteria with the same love and care that he created us? There is no excuse for letting it happen if he did not.
because there would be no creation to see. maybe things are the way they are now, so that you would be sent a strong delusion. God turns the wisdom of men into foolishness. science is only reinforcing the complexity and concept of creation itself. maybe what science is showing you only proves His love for you, that you would know He did all things for you and you should acknowledge and thank Him for having a life to live in the fisrt place.
"In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross."
What this street preacher fails to understand is that an atheist will read the Bible as fiction, only to gain knowledge of what the Christians base their religion on. The preacher is quite narrow minded if he think he can convert a non-believer by saying that god is real just because the Bible says so. Just because it is written in the Bible DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE! The bible is written by men, not God.
This "preacher" is a dumbass, ignorant, close-minded bigot who should just crawl back into his incestuous cave from which he was formed.
Christianity is just an easy way out of life. Christianity 101: If anything difficult pops up in your life or if you're asked a question you don't know the answer to, just say "God did it!". It works for everyone else. ;)
Erm... no. They based it off study of mutations over a number of generations from the fossil record. They show clear similarities in apes and man. And, we've actually seen evolution happen. Compared to religion, which is just a cop-out.
You show a complete and utter lack of understanding for what the word "theory" means in the scientific community like many creationists who claim that evolution is a faith based belief system.
Where exactly does the Bible say the world is round? It actually doesn't say either. It does say that God "stopped" the sun on two occasions. We all know that the sun can't be stopped, since it doesn't orbit.
the invisable sky pixie will punish you for eternity if you don't beleive in him!! have faith or the all loving sky pixie shall burn you for eternity. he loves you and wants you to know that he is real, and that is why he muddles the truth and makes it hard for you to beleive in him. hahahaha the jokes on you.
rofl god created science good one i lol'd in real life the bible is a load of shit it's made up things that people belive because the book says it's true if it cant be proven with science it cant be true.
I agree with this too. Evolution has given us information. We can use it to predict certain things. It's cliche now, but gravity is just a theory, the tetonic plates, "just a theory". No one doubts these, but they don't show a bible story to be a fable.
you called Christianity a ministry. that is true but guess what it's also a religion too as well no matter how much you try to deny that. and I see you have a Bob Morey video saved in your favorites. well he calls Christianity a religion too. the bible even says religion. JAMES 1:27 "Pure and undefiled RELIGION in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
God didn't create the Science (which means "knowledge") He created the wisdom, so the people could be wise and "truly" reasonable about where to get the knowledge, 'cause even Satan is scientist, has it's knowledge, but using it for good is wisdom and ability to contribute with it is wisdom.
Bible is not a scientific book, in the view of nature knowledge, it has been written to guide humanity, as a TV Manual doesn't tell you about the RGB chips but about the TV itself. No wisdom and reason here.
Damn the worst thing about you is that you walk around and tried to convert people. I bet you are one of the guys who belives that the world has only exist for 6k years, and prays everynight... Well guess what. No fuckin prayers has been answered yet. There is so much more proof of evolution than christianity. So i suggest you to never visit my country again or ill send you to heaven my way.
Proof in evolution WHERE? are you talking macro evolution or micro evolution.I agree micro evolution BUT MACRO no sorry you are wrong no proof on species develops into another.
There is no such thing as micro/macro. That is a p.r. tactic used by creationists to try and make it SEEM as though there is a distinction. Its like saying there is micro gravity and macro gravity. Its beyond retarded. You'd do yourself well to take a gander at some articles in talkorigins about transitional fossils. Ambulocetus natans is a good start. Austrolopithicus Aferensis/Africanus are two other good examples of transitioning species.
Yes as far as I know this was a species fossil that was shown to be a birth defect much like we see in humans and other animals.Where is transitional STAGES I thought there was only TWO KNOWN this is hardly YEARS AND YEARS of transitional fossils so its not credible enough but if you want to rely on that thats fine
You don't know jack if you think those 3 fossils mentioned are "birth defects." The ignorance permiates your comments. Ambulocetus Natans is a transitional fossil demonstrating whale evolution. There are @ least 5 additional species within that particular transition. Primate evolution, i.e. Humans, has even more to show. Aferensis & Africanus are just two off the top my head. There are at least 20 different species too many to mention here. Its more than credible ,especially when looking at DNA
You're assuming that fossils are easy to create. Hardly the case. The chance of a fossil being created are so small, if you notice most living things that die end up decomposing due to bacteria, bugs, scavengers etc. never making it to even having the chance to be a fossil.
Technically speaking all species are transitional.
However everytime we find a species demonstrating this, you simply say "ah ha! Now there are two gaps b/w species instead of one" This is a fallacy
i beleive in the store down the street that i can get to in 1700 steps. i don't beleive in new york city which takes millions of steps to get too. new york couldn't exist because it takes too many steps to get there. oh wait that is your philosophy. i realize that macro evolution is simply many repetative cycles of micro evolution.
The Bible does say that the earth is round in Isaiah 40:22, but most scholars claim that it means "circular" and NOT "spherical". Matthew 4:8 seems to indicate that the earth is flat as well. The Bible didn't bring us any new scientific knowledge, according to the Bible God created plants before the sun... >_> It's slowing us down, and that preacher was a liar.
Preacher...it is always good to mention the number of great scientists that believe(d) in God: Sir Isaac Newton, Luis Pasteur, Samuel Morris, Jahannes Kepler, Galileo, Renee Descartes, Blaise Pascal (was a statistician that thought His odds were better believing in God than being an athiest) Joseph Priestly....this list goes on and on...
Newton also believed in Alchemy. See how well that one has turned out for us, with all those lead pipes getting turned to gold.
Almost all of your list lived in a time period that you would have been executed for Blasphemy if you professed any doubt of Gods existence, so counting them as scientists that believe in god is a fallacy.
Don't be ridiculous. Many Scientist today believe in a creation theory. The advent of the electron microscope which was not available in Darwin's era has lead many biochemist to the conclusion that evolution is a fraud.
Have you seen the movie expelled?...Dawkins is left looking like an idiot.
My friend if evolution was a fact, there would be thousands of examples of beneficial mutations...alas there is not yet one....

All or most non-catholic christians believe that catholics go to heaven. catholics believe the Jesus the Anointed One (the Christ) character to be the savior & son of god. Both of these points seem to be enough evidence that catholics are christian. So much for the no true scotsman fallacy.

partyongarth420 2 years ago
Are you sure about no life ...afterlife? Mary was not a perpetual virgin as the roman catholic church portrays - which is itself clearly unbiblical. (Jesus had brothers and sisters). What loopholes do you speak of in the bible? Have you read it in its entirety?
OnFiya4Jesus 2 years ago
God manifest himself onto ONE MAN, who was Jesus Christ. Mary was not the mother of God, but a mother of a man that God himself would manifest himself to. He was the Son of God. The brother of Jesus was Joseph and Mary's son, but Jesus was God's son (Virgin Birth).
bananabebop 2 years ago
Jesus never claimed to be God and Muslims and Jews rightly point out that we are all sons of god according to the religion even if Jesus did exist.
Also there is no contemporary historical evidence indicating that Jesus exists, everything ever written about him outside the bible was writen after he allegedly died. Futhermore the Gospels are of unknown date and authorship, and they were voted on by men. Lastly, virgin birth myths were not uncommon at the time.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Jesus said that "The Father and I are One". The bible says that Jesus is "my only begotten son" The muslim quran doesnt say anything about muhammed doing any miracles to prove that he was a prophet. Plus, the quran has plenty of contradictions. The gospels were chosen by the Church, and that doesn't prove anything on your side. When you say "at the time" do mean after Jesus' death? We are not all sons of God, the bible does not say that (for what I know of, list the verse if there is one)
bananabebop 2 years ago
Oh, what exact verses did you get those quotes from?
Valmarith 2 years ago
John 10:30 and John 3:16
bananabebop 2 years ago
Ah, the myths of John do indeed state that your god gave it's only begotten son, however I must point out that you have a very doctrinal interpretation of John 10:30, to say "I am one with God" is not to say "I am God".
If that is what it means, John 10:30 seems to contradict John 3:16. I suppose this is why you Christians can not agree on even the most basic points of doctrine, and why there are over 3000 sects of christianity and several major Christian religions each very different.
Valmarith 2 years ago
It is not a contradiction at all. If "the Father and I are one" he is still the Father's Son. Most of what you would call a "Christian sect" are imitators of Christianity. There are alot of conterfeits out there that imitates Christianity but aren't really biblically based. For ex., Jehovah witness (what you would call a Christian sect) believes no one will go to hell, but one's soul will be annihilated. The bible talks about that there a plenty of deceivers out there.
bananabebop 2 years ago
@bananabebop The No True Christian Fallacy
Valmarith 2 years ago
@bananabebop First of all, "One with god" does not mean "god". You have a DOCTRINAL interpretation of that verse, you extrapolate more from it than what it says. Second, you don't get to define who is and is not a Christian. Third your notion that anyone who does not believe in your god will go to hell is also doctrinal interpretation, your way isn't the only way to interpret what you read, and your faith based doctrine is no more correct that the faith based doctrine of another.
Valmarith 2 years ago
I believe what the bible says, and if anyone who believes other than it is not of Christ. I can define what who is and isnt a Christian: A Christian is a follower of Jesus. Thats in the dictionary. Are you a Christian? No. Because you don't believe in Christ. I don't know alot, but what I do know is that the bible is pretty clear on certain things. Mark 16:16 says "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned".
bananabebop 2 years ago
You believe things in addition to what the bible says. If you want to use the dictionary definition your No True Christian argument goes out the window. You Christians can't even agree on the finest points of doctrine, and by the way Mark 16:16 doesn't say "Damned to hell" it simply sayd "Damned" which could mean any number of things. You are DAMNED to suffer in this world and this life, for instance. You are DAMNED to eternal death. The word Damned doesn't invoke your DOCTRINE of hell for all.
Valmarith 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
You should just go look up what the word damn means. The bible is very clear that you will go to hell if you dont believe John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him *should not perish*, but have everlasting life." logically, if you would reverse this statement that would mean that you would have eternal death if you dont believe. when it says *shall not perish* it means for ONLY the ones who believe. do u understand?
bananabebop 2 years ago
Clearly the Bible isn't clear on that because you Christians can't agree on what it means. "Should not Perish, but have eternal life" logically suggests suggests eternal death as you say. Final Death in Sheol, a concept that Hebrews understood, but apparently Christians had trouble with. That's the opposite of eternal life in some fiery torture pit called hell.
Valmarith 2 years ago
I would admit that there are alot of stubborn "Christians" out there who would like to change the actual truth of a verse, but the bible says what it says, it is very clear on certain things that it would take a dummy to try to make people misinterpret what it really says. Its funny, because at my church we have learning these basics, and its also quite funny that we all agree on the same thing in our bible study. There shouldn't be any divisions (read 1 corinthians 1:10-17 :10-17) really.
bananabebop 2 years ago
The "truth of the verse" is not agreed upon. No one is trying to change it, it simply isn't clearly spelled out in a way that all Christians agree upon. You believe what you do because of DOCTRINE and INTERPRETATION more than because of what the verse actually says. You have added to what is there.
You know you're right the same way they know they're right. Your Christianity is no more legemite than theirs. What sect do you belong to? What Denomination? What country (region influences belief)
Valmarith 2 years ago
I live in TX, US and I was raised particulary as a Pentecostal but I visit many different churches, like Baptist, Assembly of God, etc. I don't go around saying "I AM A PENTECOSTAL" because I know that I am simply a Christian and that we are one in Christ and that is shown if they believe everything what the bible says.
bananabebop 2 years ago
And yet the sects you mentioned all differ on points of doctrine, as TheThinkingAtheist points out in his Parody Video "A House Divided" watch?v=MfA6mTgl7tU
Valmarith 2 years ago
There is no division among those groups. No matter how much you criticize the church they head head of The Church remains, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the words he spoke. My church is actually planing to combine with another Church, and who knows, it might be a another denomination. The Spirit of Christ OVERCOMES the differences. But you, yourself, don't believe in Christ. What is there to argue about?
bananabebop 2 years ago
Sorry but you're just wrong, there are divisions of doctrine between those groups. You simply don't notice because those doctrinal difference aren't brought up. Go to a Baptist Church and start talking about speaking in toungs. While you're at it, start asking people whether Jesus is beside God, or whether God and Jesus are the exact same character. They'll all say Jesus is God but many mean something different when they say that.
What is there to Argue? That your doctrine is not the only one
Valmarith 2 years ago
There are some doctrinal differences, but what is your point? Those differences can resolved and they have been resolved and I have seen it happen. My mother made a Jehovah witness woman shuttup because she knew her "doctrine" wasn't biblical at all.
bananabebop 2 years ago
My point is only that there are major doctrinal differences between Christian Sects and ultimately your doctrinal interpretation of the bible and your doctrinal extra-biblical notions are no better than the next persons.
There are many different versions of the Bible in many different languages and what they say can be read many different ways, your doctrinal interpretations are not shared by the majority of Christians unless you deny the Christianity of everyone who disagrees with you.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Hey, how about you list some doctrinal differences for me to know about? The Catholic church is completely contrary to the Word of God and one pope said claims "Evolution is Fact". What so called Mary/Jesus Follower believes also in evolution? I don't recommend you go to a Catholic church if you ever decide to go to church at all.
bananabebop 2 years ago
What does it matter if there differences? In the bible there is no contradictions and it seems to me that you are trying too hard to disprove Christianity, when the truth is, that you have nothing. Do have anything esle?
bananabebop 2 years ago
I am not trying to disprove Christianity. There is an extensive list of contradictions in the Bible all you need to do is google "Bible Contradictions" and you have apologist who go through and explain away a lot of them with convoluted apologetics and specialized reinterpretation of what the different verses mean. Even if there were no Bible contradictions it doesn't change that you Christians interpret the different verses differently and have hundreds of confliction doctrines about it.
Valmarith 2 years ago
I have already searched them before and most of the scriptures they list are covered already and can be interpreted logically where they couldn't be a contradiction. Most of the verses are out of context from another verse. So they show on verse, in another context they show another, which in means isn't a contradiction.
bananabebop 2 years ago
Yes I'm sure with convoluted apologetics and reinterpretation of what the verses mean you can easily dismiss any and all contradiction. As a matter of faith you are not allowed to recognize that the bible has contradictions even if that's true, you will never accept contradictions even if clear contradictions are presented to you.
I am not here to talk about Bible contradictions though, because even if the Bible were one book with no contradictions, you Christians do not all read it the same.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Actually, I would accept a contradiction if there was one, so far the ones are logically and fundamentally cleared.
bananabebop 2 years ago
No matter what contradiction is presented to you, you are not allowed to accept that it is a contradiction. You must always interpret it in such as way that it is not a contradiction, no matter what. If you are ever forced to recognize a contradiction you will only say it is human error. And whatever inconstancy I provide you will go find apologetics to explain it away for you, and you'll just nod and accept his answer.
Valmarith 2 years ago
I can clear those so called Contradicitons myself. All you need to know is English and Bible knowledge and they're cleared. The ones they list are quite deceiving if you nothing about the bible in the first place.
bananabebop 2 years ago
Yes I am sure you must know the English Language to correctly understand the bible, because if you study it's history and read the oldest manuscripts you may end up like Bob Price.
Here is a fun fact, did you know which books made it into the Bible came down to a vote? People actually voted on what was the divine truth of God, and the vote was not even unanimous. Isn't that interesting?
Valmarith 2 years ago
Yeah... I knew that, and what ur point?
bananabebop 2 years ago
My point is that early christianity was also a bunch of divided sects, and a few men in seats of power decided to outlaw the sects they did not like, destroy gospels they did not agree with, and voted in a room full of men in a nonunanimous decision which books would be in your modern bible. Since then other books have been throne out, the Protestant and Catholic bibles do not even have all of the same books.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Right, Catholics have added some books, and mormons.
bananabebop 2 years ago
Or have protestants taken some books out?
Valmarith 2 years ago

bananabebop 2 years ago

Valmarith 2 years ago
Also, did you know that Gospels aren't even books, but were letters that were written to people?
bananabebop 2 years ago
I knows that that is not the point that is just semantics. They are divided up into books in the modern bible now.
Valmarith 2 years ago
It is actually hilariously common to see a Spirit-filled baptist church, though every church is different. Most Christian "sects" are the same if the church fundamentally lines up with the Bible. If you would understand you will see that any church who do what the BIBLE says (Believe, be baptized, Receive the Holy Spirit) which most so-called baptist do. Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;..."
bananabebop 2 years ago
"Spirit filled" means nothing. By Spirit filled I suppose you mean a bunch of people working themselves into hysterics and feeling the vibrations from loud speakers thinking they're feeling the "holy spirit". A chaotic mess of people working themselves into a psychotic state like a bunch of primitives around a fire thinking they are in touch with some spirit.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Spirit filled is shown by fruits - which would be Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, etc. and Having the power to cast out demons in the name of Jesus, power of prayer and intercession (This is not my own doctrine this is biblical and will give bible verses that is evident for these things in the Christian church), speaking in tongues, heal the sick, raise the dead, etc. These things happen ONLY in a church who are believers in the words of Jesus. Search GREAT COMMISION IN BIBLE.
bananabebop 2 years ago
You show your crazy pentecostal roots. Most Christians don't buy into this. You may have stage magicians like Benny Hinn get on stage and do magic tricks by putting all the true cripples to the side and having a woman with a bad leg get up out of a wheel chair, and give a baby a valume and wait for it to come out of a coma while speaking gibberish. You do not raise the dead and you do not heal amputees.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Let me even ask, have you ever even stepped into a church?
bananabebop 2 years ago
Yes, now which church would you have me step into?
Valmarith 2 years ago
What kind of church was it and what did you hear and see.
bananabebop 2 years ago
It was a Catholic Church, large hall with about twenty people in it sitting in pews in front of the image of a tortured man hanging from some boards listening to some man in a dress and handing out wafers. Rather Cliche and not like your crazy protestant Churches I'm sure. You protestants normally sing songs to your invisible friend or listen to some guy interpret the bible for you since you apparently can't do it yourself. Some of you work yourselves into frenzies and think you're feeling god.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Everything you said was right. I couldn't agree even more.
bananabebop 2 years ago
The Catholic church goes against what the bible says anyways. In fact, having a Dead Jesus on the Cross is quite blasphemous, and graven, which goes against the 10 Commandments. (Exodus 20). And its also bad how the Catholic church forbids people to read the bible. Protestants actually ENCOURAGE to read the bible. The Catholic Church is not fundamentally stable. I do not agree with how you stereotype all Protestant churches. What protestant church you went to? I read my bible, thank you.
bananabebop 2 years ago
I'm quite aware of the Irony and I'm also quite aware of what hypocrites most protestants who criticize catholics are. Most Protestants are fine with stained glass windows and you often have emblems of crosses, in fact I bet there is one on your very bible. The Catholic Church does not forbid people to read the Bible, I do not know where you heard that insane lie but Catholic Ministers even have study sessions to help people "properly understand" the Bible.
Valmarith 2 years ago
As for stereotyping you crazy protestants. I can not help it if you Christians are over 3000 different cults each one different and each one equally convinced you're right and the other guys are wrong.
Your comment about The Catholic Church not being stable is laughable, the Catholics are far more consistent than you protestants. Protestants are constantly dividing into new sects with differences of doctrine. Why do you think there are so many different kinds of Baptist?
Valmarith 2 years ago
You yourself are dividing me into a sect. Why do call me a Protestant? The bible is as a whole, every Bible-believing Christian needs to believe everything what Bible says. Why? So there would be no divisions. There are only sects of any religion because people believe on one thing. The bible speaks specifically against divisions, but people don't want to listen to some parts about the bible. Like speaking in tongues (which is shown in Acts, and was said by the words of Christ), etc.
bananabebop 2 years ago
Banana it is a fact that there are thousands of different churches who teach wildly different things and interpret the bible in wildly different ways. There isn't even one bible there are dozens of different versions of the bible.
Valmarith 2 years ago
There are different versions of the bible, but they are normally just English variants; such as the American Standard Version, American Translation, Amplified Bible, Contemporary English Version, English Standard Version, King James and it goes on! Compare the verses, they are the same meaning (except for the corrupt New International Version).
bananabebop 2 years ago
Yes that is why they are sometimes worded very differently and why they do not all have the same number of books right? And everyone who does not use the version you use is using a corrupt version.
Valmarith 2 years ago
I would have you step into a church that is Spirit filled and intacted with the Bible. (Denomination wouldn't matter)
bananabebop 2 years ago
In this instance John 3:16 makes clear that the word Damned means Damned to Death, not hellfire.
Valmarith 2 years ago
Eternal Life is Heaven, or so called Paradise (Abrahams Bossom). Eternal death is hell. Death and Hell will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14). & there is only life in Christ (Joh 14:6 Rom 20:14, math. 28:18 and so on and so on)
bananabebop 2 years ago
Banana that is an entirely doctrinal interpretation of the verses you have provided. Joh 14:6 only says that Jesus is the only way to "the Father" it doesn't say you have to believe that Jesus is God to get to "the Father".
Rom 20:14 isn't even in a lot of bibles and varies greatly between versions and time periods (and it's also irrelevant to the discussion), Matt 28:18 is also irrelevant to the conversation. It looks like you're just citing quotes that assert the dominance of your god.
Valmarith 2 years ago
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, *All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth*." Matt 20:28. And how this is irrevelent?
But sorry, yes Rom 20 14 ia irrevelent to the conversation, I did not meant to list that verse , but another one?
bananabebop 2 years ago
Matt 20:28 is irrelevant to your doctrinal assumptions about the afterlife, and it also does not state that Yahweh and Jesus are the same being, nor does it describe Heaven (heaven could mean the sky and stars, the literal heaven above your head).

want2rock247 2 years ago
I don't believe that Brahma exists. I was making the point that you can't definitivly prove the non-existence of anything. Something exists when reasonable evidence is presented to prove that it does. It's a convieneint use of language to say that magical pixies do not exist, but it's not a completly accurate one. I would certainly beilive in a deity if decent enough evidence was presented to me, often i want to believe, but so far i haven't found any.
aben39 2 years ago

want2rock247 2 years ago
I'm just looking for the evidence. If compelling evidence was presented for a God i would certainly believe. I've read chapters of the bible and was tought christianity at my school but neither of these sources backed up any of their claims.
aben39 2 years ago
what claim in particular? i'd like to take a shot at it.
want2rock247 2 years ago
Thank you. The claim that a God exists, in any form, is the one i'm most interested in.
aben39 2 years ago
the claim has been made in the bible and creation is self-evident and backed by science. what part of the bible then, do you disagree with?
want2rock247 2 years ago
I would disagree that creation is self-evident. From my studies of science it seemed to me that the enviroment we inhabit is pretty hostile to life. I disagree with the gensis only because it makes no attempt at proving what it sais, it just asserts that God made the heavens and the Earth. I've heard people claim that the bible is scientific but from my limited knowledge it doesen't offer much proof.
aben39 2 years ago
if creation isn't self-evident, we wouldn't be here. science does portray a hostile environment but that would only reinforce the notion that things didn't happen by chance. God does not have to break it down for you and that's exactly what He said to Job, by asking him where he was when the foundations of the earth were laid. if you do have limited knowledge, increase it and speak to those who know the bible better than you. i'm not trying to be condescending or anything but i'm convinced.
want2rock247 2 years ago
How would we not be here if creation was not self evident? I bring up the point about a hostile enviroment becuase it seems to go very far against the idea of the Earth being exclusivly created for humans. Take infant mortality ,every month tens of thousands of children never get past their first birthday becuase of various microrganisms. presumably God created these viruses and bacteria with the same love and care that he created us? There is no excuse for letting it happen if he did not.
aben39 2 years ago
because there would be no creation to see. maybe things are the way they are now, so that you would be sent a strong delusion. God turns the wisdom of men into foolishness. science is only reinforcing the complexity and concept of creation itself. maybe what science is showing you only proves His love for you, that you would know He did all things for you and you should acknowledge and thank Him for having a life to live in the fisrt place.

2) Never done anything good? Try medicine.
3) Science+Bible are buddies? No, they completely oppose.
Also, classy cut out where the guy explains evolution and proves you wrong.
Wh4gg3r 3 years ago
It's funny how testable, demonstratable Scientific protocol proves that the theoretic process of evolution is not an on-going endeavour.

"God created science!" That's a good one! God is a pretty suicidal fellow, then, isn't he?

This "preacher" is a dumbass, ignorant, close-minded bigot who should just crawl back into his incestuous cave from which he was formed.
Christianity is just an easy way out of life. Christianity 101: If anything difficult pops up in your life or if you're asked a question you don't know the answer to, just say "God did it!". It works for everyone else. ;)

RIGHT AND THIS IS DARWINISM
I dont really know the origin of man so lets just say monkeys became ape-like men, and then those men became human.
look guys its magic.
easymak1234 3 years ago
Erm... no. They based it off study of mutations over a number of generations from the fossil record. They show clear similarities in apes and man. And, we've actually seen evolution happen. Compared to religion, which is just a cop-out.
Science: Actual experiments
Religion: GOD DID IT.
Wh4gg3r 3 years ago
You show a complete and utter lack of understanding for what the word "theory" means in the scientific community like many creationists who claim that evolution is a faith based belief system.
EyesDownfield 3 years ago
Where exactly does the Bible say the world is round? It actually doesn't say either. It does say that God "stopped" the sun on two occasions. We all know that the sun can't be stopped, since it doesn't orbit.

the invisable sky pixie will punish you for eternity if you don't beleive in him!! have faith or the all loving sky pixie shall burn you for eternity. he loves you and wants you to know that he is real, and that is why he muddles the truth and makes it hard for you to beleive in him. hahahaha the jokes on you.

rofl god created science good one i lol'd in real life the bible is a load of shit it's made up things that people belive because the book says it's true if it cant be proven with science it cant be true.

i like this atheist. he's respectful, which is good.
agnosticguy21293 3 years ago
I agree with this too. Evolution has given us information. We can use it to predict certain things. It's cliche now, but gravity is just a theory, the tetonic plates, "just a theory". No one doubts these, but they don't show a bible story to be a fable.

if you can judge all atheist as ignorant
your a damn fool even by the bible ur a damn fool
Bert2k6 3 years ago
you called Christianity a ministry. that is true but guess what it's also a religion too as well no matter how much you try to deny that. and I see you have a Bob Morey video saved in your favorites. well he calls Christianity a religion too. the bible even says religion. JAMES 1:27 "Pure and undefiled RELIGION in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
gokuhawks14 3 years ago
Being a Christian is having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
I have many saved videos on my favorites, that doesn't mean I believe everything they stand for.
Also try reading a KJV it might help you in yourt understanding of God's Word.

Hahaha .. "Science and the bible go hand in hand..." like 1 minute after he states that evolution is not a fact...ignorance is bliss :)

Proof in evolution WHERE? are you talking macro evolution or micro evolution.I agree micro evolution BUT MACRO no sorry you are wrong no proof on species develops into another.
puglet13 3 years ago
There is no such thing as micro/macro. That is a p.r. tactic used by creationists to try and make it SEEM as though there is a distinction. Its like saying there is micro gravity and macro gravity. Its beyond retarded. You'd do yourself well to take a gander at some articles in talkorigins about transitional fossils. Ambulocetus natans is a good start. Austrolopithicus Aferensis/Africanus are two other good examples of transitioning species.
shonkey 3 years ago
Yes as far as I know this was a species fossil that was shown to be a birth defect much like we see in humans and other animals.Where is transitional STAGES I thought there was only TWO KNOWN this is hardly YEARS AND YEARS of transitional fossils so its not credible enough but if you want to rely on that thats fine
puglet13 3 years ago
You don't know jack if you think those 3 fossils mentioned are "birth defects." The ignorance permiates your comments. Ambulocetus Natans is a transitional fossil demonstrating whale evolution. There are @ least 5 additional species within that particular transition. Primate evolution, i.e. Humans, has even more to show. Aferensis & Africanus are just two off the top my head. There are at least 20 different species too many to mention here. Its more than credible ,especially when looking at DNA
shonkey 3 years ago
(cont)

Nomiss9 3 years ago
Glory to the Lord for that, in your hearts is a zeal to preach the gospel!
godkomando 3 years ago
i love how he says the "burden of proof is not on me". Why are christian's the only ones who are allowed to forgo proof?
Also his pointing out atheist's belief in theory not fact is funny when he obviously does not know what either are.

JAKEV25 3 years ago
Thanks for the info!
Preacher717 3 years ago
Newton also believed in Alchemy. See how well that one has turned out for us, with all those lead pipes getting turned to gold.
Almost all of your list lived in a time period that you would have been executed for Blasphemy if you professed any doubt of Gods existence, so counting them as scientists that believe in god is a fallacy.
SimUser 3 years ago
Don't be ridiculous. Many Scientist today believe in a creation theory. The advent of the electron microscope which was not available in Darwin's era has lead many biochemist to the conclusion that evolution is a fraud.
Have you seen the movie expelled?...Dawkins is left looking like an idiot.
My friend if evolution was a fact, there would be thousands of examples of beneficial mutations...alas there is not yet one....
