  • he still using left foot braking. thats something i cant do either

  • From the looks of his driving he doesn't seem to need to rev match the car before downshifting. If u look closely at when he does downshift you'll notice he's shifting at a very high pace. The clutch is only used to change down but let go of quickly enough that his engine speed doesn't decrease much. This man is very talented indeed.

  • wow.........he's such a good driver. Love the pedal cam too.

  • May be he doesn't want to use heel-toe. The less grip between tire and track may cause tire spin and slip due to shift lock. When tire slip it's cause less wear of transmission & clutch and jerky motion is reduced. I think tarmac track that coat with thin layer of snow - cause less grip generate between tire and track - not need to rev match downshift. Except tire spin more and cause the car out of control.

  • he simply doesnt heel n toe, thats all, your imagination is way too much! =)

  • @yyjack23 yes may be I was wrong. I see another Panizzi clip from youtube he didn't use heel-toe at all , even in sticky tarmac. It seem shift-lock didn't mean to him :(

  • How does he do that without jumping the car!!!?

  • It depends on a driver if you use heel toe or not..

  • Lets get things Striaght, Gilles Panizzi was the greatest tarmac rally driver in the early 2000s so I dont think he needs anyone on Youtube to instruct him on how to drive

  • Let's get things straight: You heel & toe to prevent locking the driving wheels when releasing the clutch and sudden decceleration of the tires and same time increase the engine speed while downshifting to make the downshift easier for the clutch when releasing it. You double clutch shift to make the shift easier for the gear synchros.

  • the reason why he doesnt need HEEL TOE is: because when he downshifts the rpm are about 3800 to 5000 ... he was going to the red line (lets say 7000 then brake hard and enter the turn he would have to use heel toe cause the difference in RPM between 7000 rpm in 3rd then brake and get the speed down in 2nd is big and would make a huge bang " ) i know im not clear lol but try it with your car you'll see...

  • nah, he doesnt use it at all

  • @yyjack23 ur just dumb ..

  • face the truth and go practice ur driving, dummy!

  • @yyjack23 Hi, i believe there is no need for HT.

4 cylinder engine have low inertia, and due to turbocharger it has lower compression and lower revs, AWD minimizes slip, rally style driving have other more important priorities rather than keeping max momentum and cutting tenths of a second, i dont think it made any difference.

If it was a high compression V8 on RWD layout i believe he would end up doing because it would actually make difference.

Thank you for sharing this video.

  • @RCC4487

they simply dont heel toe while their right foot is on brake

  • @Mr0KKK0 No I own an evo and I know the REAL reason why he doesn't use it. Because he doesn't need to when the syncros in the transmission are new. Up to triple syncro gears makes for buttery smooth downshifts even to first gear. When the car gets older and the syncros wear out, they do it to get smoother downshifts without breaking the car as well, it's smoother on the parts of the car.

  • @intj123 I also never use heel toe, it's not ergonomic for me.

  • Non the less, it'd be nice to have some nice roads like this that it was legal to rally around.

  • I don't think he is using "special clutch". He only downshift when rev down below 4000rpm. Also you can see each time he release the clutch, the rpm only climb not even 1000rpm. Even for a normal street car, this can be done. Since heel and toe downshift in higher rpm, it won't hurt clutch, but it will hurt syncro for sure. With smooth clutch release, it won't hurt clutch as bad as release clutch quickly but without enough gas during heel and toe.

  • @oddchung

nobody says he used special clutch, he is driving a stock evo! and in fact every downshift will wear out synchro little by little, with or without HnT, maybe perfect double clutch will help a little!

  • the master at work......or rather at play

  • Pro at work

  • will this have any negtive impacts on the clutch?

  • Gunsai Togue ?

  • why he didn't use heel & toe ?

  • Looks like a great driving road, wish I had some roads like that around where I live.

  • @estewar03 its a track mate

  • He didnt hit the rev limiter once!

  • why would he want to, almost all cars make there max torque and hp below the rev limit, back to playing forza2 for you

  • @epix020 he wouldnt hit the rev limiter , turbo charged cars hit there max power just before the waste gate opens which is before the rev limiter so if u took it to the limit u lose power.

  • Clean driving ^^

  • He never did the "heel toe technique "

  • he doesn't need to, that's why i post it

  • Ohh woops my bad misread the discription.

  • how does he get smooth transitions while downshifting, not using the heeltoe technique ofc..???

  • practice clutch release

  • @RancidElf32

    hell toe is for amateurs

    he's a master he doesn't need that

  • very nice pilote

  • Very nice
