OK, I'm an old-fart traditionalist when it comes to big-wave riding. I've always felt that if you cannot take-on a giant Hawaiian-style wave .. using nothing but your own self-contained god-given judgement, skill, and bodily power & strength in all the right places throughout your own body .. then it's not quite 'authentic' big-wave riding.
