This video is a joke. If you see the flash of an atomic bomb, you're as good as dead. The only evidence of your existence will be your shadowed outline on a wall, if any are left standing.
A agree with most of us here that a modern thermo nuclear attack would make most of this stuff a moot point but, if you are miles from the target or if it is an attack by terrorists, a large device isn't all that likely. In the case of a terrorist attack, the "duck and cover" techniques we all laughed at in grade school, just might save your ass.
i took a vacation in this beach house once and i dropped sumting behind the washing machine and when i moved it the previous owner built an underground fallout shelter, that was crazy
Depends on how far away from the blast the house is. Beyond a mile, or so and a well built house would stand a good chance of surviving, albiet damaged.
Funny, I'm sure since there was fire outside, you can guess the whole place is loaded with radiation. I guess there wasn't any information on nuclear fall out until The Incredible Hulk aired in the 1980's. Remember the gamma radiation is a no no Mr. McGee
@DarkAngel182: I doubt it. There is generally around 30 minutes between a nuclear initiation and the fallout arriving. Plus the initiation could have been an airburst, which doesn't produce much fallout, or the wind could be blowing fallout away from you.
Thank you so much! I never knew what the warnings were at all. If there ever is a nuclear attack, you would have saved my life. I would have otherwise ignored the air raid sirens and fluffed it off as a faulty siren. THANKS
@racer927 Actually the trend in nuclear devices has been downward. Most are now in the kilotons rather than megatons because delivery methods are now more accurate.
Why is the opening for No. 6 on the tail end of bulletin 5 and 7's opening on 6? Are they misnumbered on Youtube or is that the way the Civil Defence put them out? Either way, I SO suscribed to you!
when the heat and wave has past, one of you should leave the fallout room and check the house to see if there is any damage.
the game of eeney-meaney-miney-mo will work i suppose.

Depends on whether you just witness it or you're part of it. You can't compare the two... they're two completely different events in size and scope.

You ain't doing shit after a nuclear attack, except sitting there in shock and thinking about what the fuck just happened.

@paris466
Yeah. And I suppose after witnessing a train crash the proper course of action is to stand around gawking -_-

Okay so in the event of a nuclear attack I need to get a trench coat and several buckets.

if it happens now, do these things:
1. hide, untill blast gone
2. get your famely and go into a car, ride in the opposite direction of the blast
3. clean yourself
4.blame governy

I don't think there would be a house left.

I like it "as soon as the blast has past, put on a thick coat and go outside". LOL, you'd be glowing from radiation by the time you got back inside.
