The cutscene is normally seen, but without all the sword-waving. Unless you're looking at Ewil's speedrun, where he skips it entirely (my discovery! *pats self on back*).
Werner Von Croy was her mentor. She was his apprentice. You gotta play your way through The Last Revelation to fully understand, but a rivalry did develop between the two.
