Charity Navigator has been rating Compassion 4 stars out of 4 possible for years now. They look into how accountable and legitimate the charity is and view how they spend their fundings
About 20% of people who sponsor children are outside of the United States and that ratio is growing (Korea, Italy, Netherlands). Approx 83% of funds go directly to sponsored children, while the remaining 17% covers administrative costs to provide these services across 27 countries.
actually about 10-30% of the money goes to fund the organizations expenses, I've read up on it...that leaves about 70-90% of the money to fund a child...I would say thats quite good.
actually, I've met alot of the executives of this company and I can assure you these guys are the real deal. I was skeptical at first also, but after actually doing some research and investigating - I came to the conclusion that Compassion is changing the lives of THOUSANDS of children all over the world.
On top of that, last march, I got to meet the child my wife and I sponsor in Tanzania. I actually talked to her - a Compassion employee introduced me to her. Check em out. www.compassion.com.
umm.. actually,
83.1% goes to Program expenses,
Administrative Expenses gets 7,6%,
Fundraising expenses 9.1%
Fundraising Efficiency 0.08 %
