Algo que siempre me ha molestado es "arenas del tiempo aquello arenas no se que" y mas bla bla, pero la gente olvida que Prince of Persia es una saga muy liberal un dia te pueden hablar de las arenas y despues de solo salvar una princesa COMO ORIGINALMENTE ERA este juego tiene unas excelentes graficas historia increible, sera facil en algunas cosas en otra en serio un dolor de cabeza (por ejemplo los 63 combos) FANS DE ARENAS DEL TIEMPO antes de criticar este PoP echen un ojo a los anteriores
This is one of the easiest games I have played, simply insulting to the Sands of Time trilogy. The entire story was completely for nothing .The game doesn't handle like a prince of persia game, sure all the parkour moves are there but they just seem so forced and didn't flow well. Lastly, it wasn't fun, no sand powers, ugly graphics, you cannot die and the big nail in the coffin was the terrible combat. This game is like the 4th indiana jones, never should have been made and should be forgotten!

The game is grate, and so is the story line. But this trailer Is bullshit.
I think Sands of time was grate, But I still think Warrior Within was Ahead of it's time, and Holy @%#! It was the gratest. Two Thrones was only fun when you had Dark Prince, and the fight at the end was only good at the platforming bit.
I also don't recommend Forgotten sands to anybody, because the game is a Scam for money, trying to steal from the Sands of time Moveis succes.
The Sands of time(always the best), -worrior within(Badass, fun, shows the prince has balls),- two thrones(Good prince was cool on his darkside but he got soft),- pop4 ( pathetic, you couldn't die all the battles weren't all free it was basically a boss battle all the time and he sound like a teenage fag),- Forgotten sands ( not played yet.)
I find it interesting how some people are so ignorant towards this game. The original POP series was good but this game isn't just some "fantasy style game." This game is unique because it is a story about Ancient Persian Mythology. I hope they continue this series because people might learn a thing or two about Persian history and that mythology isn't just "Greek."
This is not Prince of Persia . He is a thief, tomb raider, no sands of time, no Kalina no throne. This is anoher game with Prince of Persia name. And this game is AWESOME! One of the best story ever

I liked this game. Wasn't too thrilled about the combat though. And I want more variety in enemies. Fighting each boss four times - ugh. And even though the corrupted had different images, you still felt like you were fighting the same monster over and over again. For me, by definition, this isn't a Prince of Persia game. They should've named it something else. How about "The Bum and the Hot Chick with Magic Powers" ?

I liked this game. It had its flaws, the combat was too unrealistic, some powers could have been used better, the ''not dying thing', but the platforming and the story were good, and, most importantly, the game has its own feel, the amazing graphics add to its uniqueness. that all being said, I am still sold for warrior within's fighting style. You know, I've been playing through this recently and I actually don't mind it. It's not as good as the Sands of Time trilogy, but it's still very good. If anything, I hope they make a sequel and take all the criticism they received and worked on it. Like Assassins Creed, 1st was good but severely flawed but the 2nd was amazing, because they listened to the fans.

Cheaper development? Are you insane the programing for a cel shading requires many many more hours to keep stable graphics. It's the furthest thing from cheap.

This game and the games from the last console generation are all good games, but this one is just a different kind of game. The Sands of Time games were combat oriented and the platforming was slow-paced and puzzle-like. The new PoP just shifts the emphasis to more fluid, fast-paced platforming with not too much combat. Again they're all great games, but don't come into the new one expecting a Sands of Time game (although I do miss the time-controlling craziness =/).
Sands of Time + Warrior Within's refined gameplay mechanics = the best out of them all. I don't get it why ppl like Warrior Within so much....i mean gameplay was superbly done but everything else was so beaten with the angsty stick that it fell rather stereotypical. Typical hard rock music, typical violent atmosphere, angsty prince, typical bad ass women dressed up in strings just for the boobs (and there are better boobs in the industry if you're that interested...or desperate), etc.
You make good points in your post, but being away from PoP so long I can tell you what appealed most to me at least from WW by my selective memory. :p
The combat in it was great. Progression through the game granted new abilities. It was a difficult game, and, if i recall, the level design was amazing, and the texture was very attractive.
The creativity was where it belonged. The cliche aspects did little to distract the from the overall gameplay.
As mentioned before the gameplay was great and thank you for pointing out the good things. However, at least for me the overall atmosphere, characters, music and story is just as important (a thing that differentiated Sands of Time from all the other platformers) and if 1 good thing brought it higher all these ones took it down for me. Just a little more violence and cliches and it would have ended in being the Persian version of God of War.
What I don't get is why people care that much that the prince changed. It's boring to always have a character whose always noble. Besides I dought this has as much to do with the game as it has to do with you not liking rock music and sluty women. Who cares? It's a game.
@EBTcraft15 WW was gothic, the music was hardcore, the prince was the badass not Kaileena, they made her like that to look like a whore, which her voice actor was in the past. And I think they made the dress like that for the boot fetish or feet fetish guys:) But this was still an enchanting game to play, and I liked it:)
@Emays24 fun to play...yes......but for every inch of epicness in the story department they started losing quality back there. the charcters fell into archetypes and they never managed to grow out of them through the course of the story (ex in POP1: prince and Farah evolved on the course of the story), there is little to no chemistry in between them, the violence was severly ramped up, the atmosphere was way to dark and broody, etc. they pretty much changed what was so good about the POP1 story

It's controlability is erratic, problematic and unpredictable. You can never master the controls because the camera angles interfere far too much. You spend way too much time compensating for this. It's the most frustrating game ever invented. And you also have to protect a NPC in this game, making it almost impossible to complete.
It was actually the easiest of them. The girl saves your life all the times, your immortal. You always face the same bosses (just learn the tctics the first time and your done for the rest of the game). The graphic is horrible. I t looks like a cartoon. Ubisoft failed big time on this. The other 3 were excelent.
:\ only problem with this game was not having difficulty setting perhaps, and play time being short, or story being short but yeah other then those everything was great imo.

You know, I've been playing through this recently and I actually don't mind it. It's not as good as the Sands of Time trilogy, but it's still very good. If anything, I hope they make a sequel and take all the criticism they received and worked on it. Like Assassins Creed, 1st was good but severely flawed but the 2nd was amazing, because they listened to the fans.

Not to be a downer but I can't help but notice that in the movie
"300" when the Persians were the bad guys they casted all black
& middle eastern types. Now that they are the heroes miraculously
the Persians are all white & some even have British accents. I just can't turn
my brain off to that. Hollywood up to it's old Jedi mind tricks.

You do any research whatsoever, or do you just waltz into Blockbuster and pick up the fanciest looking game? The differences between the Sands of Time trilogy and this game were made known MONTHS before release.
I don't much care if you don't like it, but do yourself a favor and at least try to develop an opinion that isn't composed of sheer ignorance.

Dude, to everyone who's hating on the new Prince, quite crying, be happy with what we've got... I, too, hope the next one gets a little more combat oriented again, and the not being able to die thing was pretty damn annoying, but TBH, I'm so glad they are done w/ the SoT PoP, they beat that dead horse into the ground w/ an emo stick, LOVING the new Prince and can't wait for game number 2!!

This game and the games from the last console generation are all good games, but this one is just a different kind of game. The Sands of Time games were combat oriented and the platforming was slow-paced and puzzle-like. The new PoP just shifts the emphasis to more fluid, fast-paced platforming with not too much combat. Again they're all great games, but don't come into the new one expecting a Sands of Time game (although I do miss the time-controlling craziness =/).

Sands of Time + Warrior Within's refined gameplay mechanics = the best out of them all. I don't get it why ppl like Warrior Within so much....i mean gameplay was superbly done but everything else was so beaten with the angsty stick that it fell rather stereotypical. Typical hard rock music, typical violent atmosphere, angsty prince, typical bad ass women dressed up in strings just for the boobs (and there are better boobs in the industry if you're that interested...or desperate), etc.

You make good points in your post, but being away from PoP so long I can tell you what appealed most to me at least from WW by my selective memory. :p
The combat in it was great. Progression through the game granted new abilities. It was a difficult game, and, if i recall, the level design was amazing, and the texture was very attractive.
The creativity was where it belonged. The cliche aspects did little to distract the from the overall gameplay.

As mentioned before the gameplay was great and thank you for pointing out the good things. However, at least for me the overall atmosphere, characters, music and story is just as important (a thing that differentiated Sands of Time from all the other platformers) and if 1 good thing brought it higher all these ones took it down for me. Just a little more violence and cliches and it would have ended in being the Persian version of God of War.

What I don't get is why people care that much that the prince changed. It's boring to always have a character whose always noble. Besides I dought this has as much to do with the game as it has to do with you not liking rock music and sluty women. Who cares? It's a game.

@EBTcraft15 WW was gothic, the music was hardcore, the prince was the badass not Kaileena, they made her like that to look like a whore, which her voice actor was in the past. And I think they made the dress like that for the boot fetish or feet fetish guys:) But this was still an enchanting game to play, and I liked it:)

@Emays24 fun to play...yes......but for every inch of epicness in the story department they started losing quality back there. the charcters fell into archetypes and they never managed to grow out of them through the course of the story (ex in POP1: prince and Farah evolved on the course of the story), there is little to no chemistry in between them, the violence was severly ramped up, the atmosphere was way to dark and broody, etc. they pretty much changed what was so good about the POP1 story

The game is a JOKE! Let me explain.
It's controlability is erratic, problematic and unpredictable. You can never master the controls because the camera angles interfere far too much. You spend way too much time compensating for this. It's the most frustrating game ever invented. And you also have to protect a NPC in this game, making it almost impossible to complete.
Beautiful graphics... absolutely terrible gaming design.
Don't waste your time on it.

It was actually the easiest of them. The girl saves your life all the times, your immortal. You always face the same bosses (just learn the tctics the first time and your done for the rest of the game). The graphic is horrible. I t looks like a cartoon. Ubisoft failed big time on this. The other 3 were excelent.
