@RareWareCentral I see what you mean, some songs from Dream were used in various titles such as Viva Pinata, Donkey Kong, and even Banjo Kazooie and Tooie themselves. Such as "Bully" was reused into making Mad Monster Mansion's music. Its a good thing Grant reuses songs that didn't make the cut in this game, at least we can hear them C=. Now when you said something that would feature Mumbo for a period of time interests me. Please explain, would it have been the same situation as Tooie?
@WritersBlah Advent could of been used, I'm not too sure what was Advent's purpose. It could of been used during Dream's time, but again I'm not as sure. As for Mumbo's Radiance, it could have been possibly used during when Mumbo would Transform you. Thats an idea there. But there are all sorts of mysteries in this beta I'm interested about! It's facinating what this game used to be!
@Jexoy Advent was in fact used in dream, part of it got reused in Donkey Kong, a LOT of the unused music got reused, even decades later. Advent was a title screen / Pause menu music in Dream. Mumbo's rain dance (Named by the people that found it, pretty much the same as in BT) was most likely during a segment in the game that would feature Mumbo for a long amount of time, not for the transformations.
My guess is that the giants lair was used in Mayhem Temple in Banjo-Tooie I mean think about it, it was a sort of pyramid shaped thing and it was a boss lair, so it could have been reused just painted gray and some outside features changed.
If you listen closely you can hear a small part of what I believe to be the music for Giant's Lair (when they first show it after Beta Treasure Trove Cove/Hammerhead Beach)! Afterwards you can hear bird like noises that resemble that of Fungi Forest! Also notice how at the end of video it turns into a greenish textue, Fungus Forest? You decide. If what I said about the Giant's Lair's tune to be true then maybe Grant Kirkhope could still possibly have it and release it? Maybe... he heh...
@FlightPadProduction At the time that video was made the level was called Hammerhead Beach, something that didn't change until near the game was finished.
I heard rumors that the playable Beta Banjo-Kazooie and Dream cartridges exist somewhere in the Rare HQ. Don't ask for a tour in the company, they will flatly decline and say "Sorry, we are not allowing tours in the building".
It's disapointing. And the building is "hiding" behind the trees in the area.
@AnonymousReborn Tours are available, just not to random people who go there without contact. Not really something a private person can do. It's known that the original founders of Rare has a copy of the game (That's no surprise to me). Other than that the other copy/copies are located in the safes at Rare.
@RareWareCentral Since when did they allow tours? The last time I visited the UK, I called Rare for a tour and they said they won't allow tours. And yes, I was somewhere in Twycross at the time.
@Zeldafreak007 this video shows no footage of fungus forest. only mumbo's mountain (for like a millisecond at the start), then treasure trove cove, then what i assume is the giants lair
@congamario654 Judging by a small audio comparison I've done between the Giant's Lair and Fungus Forest (which I uploaded) I believe that they may have been the same place, but the audio comparison is a stretch so don't call crap on me if you disagree =p
@congamario654 I do indeed know that it's TTC or as it's known at the time, Hammerhead Beach. But the last couple of seconds feature another level. People believe it to be the original prototype level known as "Giants lair".
the first one isnt hb its ttc in a "beta version" the second seems to be giant lair. As more as I search for BK S'N'S or BETA or DREAM or things like that, I get more tired why they doesnt made Dream AND BK :'( (even if they would be very similiar, i would buy both)
I never thought about it but it does seem more realistic to have have a giant's mountain lair than a witch's, but I'm MUCH happier with grunty. Still, why is there no cameos of the giant in the game when there is of Blackeye? Oh well.
^Some people believe that some of the faces on the walls in Grunty's Lair are actually old concepts of the Giant. One of these pictures even looks like many of the mouth-shaped doorways, furthering the idea.
thats amazing bud, keep it safe. im so into the beta scene you dont even know i got every fact down.
but i really want to see the FULL vid. like. it cuts off at the beginning, like the whole intro and ending is missing. but this is still very good i must say. do you know what country this was aired in?
with the ones we will enjoy one of the most amuzing adventures we had ever seen. it's quality, elevated graphic level and playability will make of this characters a new hit...

At 0:06 it looks like mount fire eyes which is the fire side of Banjo-Tooie's Hailfire Peaks level.

Banjo look really shorter, I don't know if it's because the trailer is re-sized, but he look like half of his habitual legs.

@Jexoy I always thought that "Advent" was the theme for the Giant's Lair. Now I'm just curious as to what "Mumbo's Radiance" was meant for.

The internet, nobody knows where the original video is, and I mean, nobody. :(
RareWareCentral 3 years ago
@RareWareCentral Somebody must know it. Or is this a rare joke? :D
knastbube 1 year ago
@knastbube This should be Giants Lair. Rare said that it had no purpose other than being a prototype. It got replaced with Grunty's Lair.
RareWareCentral 1 year ago
the 2nd 1 was fungus forest because of the music
Abercrombie715712 3 years ago
No It's the giant's lair.
Music has nothing to do with it... I don't even believe that was the default music for that part of the game.
RareWareCentral 3 years ago
@RareWareCentral Gaint's lair my ass, it's treasure trove cove. that song you hear is the BETA SONG.

Maybe you haven't done enougth research on beta BK.
beta TTC was named Hammer Head Beach.
I know what you mean however Rare can't really make any games they want.
